  1. I don't think Tesla has delivered on any major new vehicle claim yet so I don't see them getting a 25k car to market either. By the time they get something worth 25k today, the inflation costs will bring that to 30k anyway. Maybe their target is 25k with a federal tax credit so a 32,5k car. That would make more sense to me.
  2. Ford is slow to market AND everything has been filled with troubles the last 5 years. I don't think they've had a single new vehicles launch without some pretty major issue within that time period. I'd agree that taking your time and not having major issues would be great... if that was the case. What do you mean "not a phoquiing peep"? You literally just said it's all over the news right now. Their theft issues have been on every news outlet the past 6 months or so. I guess I should just limit my praise to NO MANUFACTURER because they all have their faults and if you praise one of them, you're blind to something.
  3. That's what I was thinking but I didn't actually have knowledge of it or not. Thank you!
  4. If you read my initial comment, it was a direct comparison to the legacies, GM included. You can pick a Ford fire or Toyota wheel falling off, as well. My point still stands that H/K are bringing new vehicles to market a hell of a lot faster than GM, Ford, Toyota, Honda, etc. If you're going to make a "WHAT ABOUT" argument, it's yours. "H/K are way faster at getting new products to market." "WHAT ABOUT their problems though!?!?"
  5. Are the theft issues related solely to their ICE vehicles? Do their EVs even have a key to plug in? Fire risk? Chevy bolt.
  6. Hyundai and Kia move SOOOOO much faster than the other legacy companies. They're popping out new vehicles every 6-9 months, it seems, and the other legacy companies take two years.
  7. It's such a fascinating sport, especially now that they have a spending cap. They used to be able to spend as much as they wanted therefore the top teams were spending ten times what the budget teams were. Now that there's a cap, they have to weigh more benefits/costs. For instance, Haas has gone to a much smaller pit box/wall which is saving them 250k, supposedly mostly in delivery costs, that they can then allocate to development. I love it. It may look a little silly but if it allows them more to develop their car, I'm all for that kind of thing.
  8. It's incredible how something so hidden, covered, and overlooked by non-enthusiasts can still be such a beautiful thing. That's also pretty awesome they supply a custom setup for every team, or 9 of 10 teams. This wording is confusing to me; "In 2023, Brembo's extensive presence on the grid is confirmed. The Brembo Group will supply its calipers to all 10 teams. In particular, nine teams will be supplied with Brembo calipers while a team will be supplied with AP Racing calipers, a company based in Coventry (UK) owned by the Bergamo-based company. " They say they supply calipers to all ten teams but then say one team uses AP Racing calipers...?
  9. I don't see Rivian's Normal, IL plant as an 'assembly location'. It should be roughly in the middle of the state.
  10. Happy Birthday, @oldshurst442! Hopefully we don't make you have to go on some rant today! Hahaha
  11. Ahhhh bummer, bud! Hopefully nothing actually tore and "just" physical therapy can get you moving again. Fingers crossed for a speedy recovery. I'd think you'd have MORE time sitting in front of a computer/phone now, haha.
  12. Damn, I guess the subtlety of the Tesla's had me completely overlook it.
  13. Two of those four have pretty large grill openings. They just aren't in the traditional "above bumper" location. The Olds are great examples. Personally, I think the styling of the 3 and S to be quite attractive (I do NOT like the Y & X). They're simple, clean and have RWD proportions. Yes, I believe they could do a little more up front to stand out but, I applaud them for not going the fake vent/grille route just to make "style". FWIW, the Beretta Z26 (my first car) also had a traditional grill=less design. There was obviously still a large opening for the radiator but it was below the bumper instead of above.
  14. I think you may have shared this awhile ago or maybe I just came across it elsewhere awhile ago. Either way, it's pretty crazy to have an offramp to a stoplight in such a short distance. Any car shouldn't have an issue but larger SUVs, half-ton truck and larger, and box trucks will have to really know the area to be able to make this turn or potential stop.
  15. I agree it's on the bland side but bland isn't always bad. Some cleaner/simpler/bland designs in an ocean of vehicles with non-functional vents and tailpipes can be a little refreshing.
  16. I still think the Model 3 is a much cleaner, better looking vehicle. While I do like the awkward Ionic 6, the Model 3 looks better.
  17. I'm sure this is a great little vehicle but I do not like the front end of this, at all. It looks super cheap and Chinese, probably because it is Chinese.
  18. They are upping the 2.0T's output from 235hp/258tq to 269hp/273tq. I think it'll just have to work harder to move this big things.
  19. Kind of random but I feel it's relevant here (and also a pretty spot on comparison). Did you ever get to drive the Explorer with the 2.0T and then when they ditched that for the 2.3T? If you did get to drive them both, how was the difference there?
  20. Everything looks pretty dang good outside of dropping the V6. One of my best friends recently bought one of these and they originally went to drive the 4 cylinder and he said it just wasn't enough. For spending ~40k, the 4 cylinder didn't impress enough, especially because they anticipate towing small things eventually. I know this new 4 cylinder has more power and torque, but I'm not sure if it'll be enough for the asking price of these things.
  21. Also, while I have zero issue with the route they took, why the hell would they show off that concept to just make a regular-@ss-lookin truck? I prefer the more conventional styling, it just seems weird.
  22. I loved it. The way they took shots at EVs while also promoting their own, was pretty awesome and clever.
  23. I mean, I do still understand why they'd outsource their power unit because teams are currently developing their 2026 power units and if Cadillac weren't starting yet, they would be behind the curve. I just don't really like it. I get it. I don't like it as a somebody who would want to see a Cadillac powered by a Cadillac. I also think it would be an easy sticker to add to the side, "Powered by UIltium" to advertise their electric vehicles.
  24. But, if it's a 2026 entry, every single team is on a new learning curve. That's why 2026 is a target for a few new teams. They will be "merging" their new EV technology with raving technology and that's one way companies like Ford are justifying putting resources into F1. If Cadillac enters in 2026 with an Alpine power unit, it'll be an all-new unit, just like every other car in the field in 2026.
