  1. I'm not referring to software. I'm referring to hardware like TPM 2.0 (Trusted Platform Module). Those are things you cannot change after the fact and an example of how a "new" system can outdate itself with the OS because of hardware requirements like that. In principle, yes but see my above response. I am not speaking on overall build quality here (although that obviously factors). It is compatibility factors with Microsoft's ever changing set of rules for hardware makers that comes with every major OS release. And, for the record, you are not the only one with background here. I have worked, side by side, on Mac and Windows machines for the better part of 30 years now. Not a "noob" here lol.
  2. 😂😂😂 Not with the way Microsoft updates security hardware requirements with every new OS. There are so many systems less than 10 years old today that can't run Windows 11 for those very reasons. That is a trend that is not likely to improve in the next 10 years, especially with Intel running on Trump bucks these days. Fro the record, my wife's $1100 (at the time of purchase) HP touchscreen laptop was less than five years old when 11 came old and it lacking the newer security chipset killed that update. You can, in now way, assume ten years of use just because of that price and relatively mid-range CPU/GPU specs. The storage is average these days (capacity wise), and only the 32GB RAM extends its overall use. 16GB RAM is bare minimum these days.
  3. @G. David Felt Pugs dude. Pugs. https://www.hindustantimes.com/trending/doglovers-body-found-half-eaten-by-beloved-pet-pugs-after-she-mysteriously-died-at-home-101737643699600.html
  4. Are you absolutely SURE about that? That dog might wait an extra day or two, unlike a cat (I own two btw so be careful with how you respond here) but make no mistake. A dog will have some finger food (literally) if they are starving. It is what happened with Gene Hackman and his wife and that was a small dog doing that. Educate yourself before thinking this is only a cat thing. Both cats and dogs are animals and all that "dogs are more loyal" BS doesn't fly come starvation time. That is a fact.
  5. It is not on GM to account for $100K in aftermarket non-sense especially when it clear the problem was the aftermarket set up and not the car itself.
  6. My vinyl count was pretty low over the years until the last six months or so. I have an old school console stereo from my birth year (1972) with a great sounding little turntable on it. Even has a working 8-track with eight tapes! I picked it up about two years ago for $25 at a thrift store and only had to replace a $14 cartridge! Since then, I have slowly (until the last six months lol) built up my old school collection. Hasn't gotten too out of hand but one must always be wary!
  7. Same. Either art creating, music listening, E-bike riding (when the hips allow it lol), or project building these days.
  8. I am willing to try a swim in any societal pool, but I will not swim in a cesspool.
  9. What in the spam hell?
  10. Same here. Supposed to be right at 70 which may make this an E-Bike riding kind of day, if my hip will allow it lol.
  11. Random thought #2: Cars. Random thought #3: It is clear, from the last four or five pages here, that Drew is content to let the inmates run the asylum. That is all.
  12. Random thought: Talking politics non-stop on an auto enthusiast site is like talking autos non-stop on a political enthusiast site.
  13. Same here. I know the Pacifica's are a mixed bag for some but I know I would take my 2018 over the current 2025 any day because of Stellantis (especially ANY hybrid Pacifica).
  14. Seriously @Drew Dowdell, how did this slide right back into politics and personal insults again (see above)? Oh, I know how.
  15. "Buy GM. Buy Ford. Buy American."-Too many posters to name here Meanwhile Ford has more recalls than they have cars and GM just took an official dump on a movement they claimed to champion not two years ago. Mary Barra is a joke in clown shoes at this point. https://www.wsj.com/business/autos/general-motors-ev-mary-barra-8e5c1eb2?gaa_at=eafs&gaa_n=ASWzDAhF6A9fNywRoIX_MNcLPRCtSOdFj4HwcE8_WlElZBJ1pdU8hsDLD6nhgAvgzg%3D%3D&gaa_ts=68dbe9bd&gaa_sig=ESFzN-IxI4kLseymfl32-3LMqYdNbzCvyVKK_XAKt8tvYDTejyMjkmxIzUZ_gtSb_QhvY9k5VhkRbN_uVUchmA%3D%3D
  16. How about a way to hide any post that mentions C.K. lol? Not the poster. Just the post. Just bringing him up non-stop over the last week is exactly what that con-man wants.
  17. 100% spot on analysis of Kirk. Yes, the way he died was horrible, no matter what side of the political spectrum on which you stand. However, let us not ignore the man's ACTUAL words and actions that helped fuel the "radicalization" of certain factions in this country and create this exact scenario where someone decided to take matters into their own armed hands. Ten years of pure madness fueled by one giant narcissistic A-Hole in D.C.
  18. It seems to be past time for meds and bed check in some parts of the world.
  19. GMs gatekeeping (as well as just not allowing CarPlay/Android Auto in the first place) will be the thing that keeps me from ever buying a future EV with them. At least Ford has the good sense to leave that kind of control out of there's. Same with just about everyone else of concern.
  20. Three words for this obvious bit of sensationalism. Not A Chance
  21. Thinking old school? No. Thinking simple math here when you’re talking about a foot of difference in length. Again, two completely different class and size vehicles. No one is cross shopping those two. BTW, the Mazda has almost DOUBLE the cargo space of the current Leaf. That’s what a whole extra foot of length gets you regardless of the powertrain. That’s my whole point. You lumped in two completely different vehicles for no real reason other than a made up scenario.
  22. And none of what you just said changes what I said in my original post. Two completely different vehicles, in powertrains and class of vehicles. For starers, the Mazda is a foot longer than the upcoming Leaf. Then there's the AWD part of the equation. See where this is going yet?
  23. Two completely different vehicles but mmmkay dude.
  24. See @ccap41 post about the number of EV9 recalls. Last I checked, they are not ICE. And data from the last ten years would suggest your opinion about Honda vs Toyota to be off as well. Doesn’t matter though. You made the post for one reason. To troll Toyota.
  25. Shall I provide a list of competing Kia recalls (including ones from MY OWN Kia Sorento) @G. David Felt? How about we start this instead? Hope you informed your friends about this on their Honda Prologue with the same "vigor" that you put out those recalls on the RVA 4. https://hondanews.com/en-US/honda-corporate/releases/release-410d07897fdd63d8043cb72750086bf1-2024-honda-prologue-control-link-recall
