  1. Seriously folks. Who down votes an opinion that is literally from personal experience? I had the car for six months and spent $1600 fixing various issues with it, from bad regulators to bad knock sensors. If someone can't give an honest opinion of their own experience without a down vote from the petty children on here, then honestly those children can just take a hike or maybe I just need to jump this ship altogether. Sorry to vent but this is just ridiculous behavior by people pretending to be adults. What I'm reading is they are only providing the guidelines to Tesla certified repair centers. If the center is not Tesla certified, no guidelines. Good point. It's the same for every manufacturer and their guidelines. No it is not, sur. Yes it is. Every (or I should say just about every) manufacturer has certified 3rd party repair centers. My buddy back east is GM certified and even has the extra certification to work on Vettes. This is not really news. Certified shops will have access to the info. you claim Tesla did not give you.
  2. Let's not forget those pesky diesel emissions (and subsequent complaints) that did not have time to make it onto these surveys.

  4. I agree with this. I see no reason why Cadillac is even using the NA 3.6L when they have the 3.0L TT capable of so much more. I would also argue that their 2.0LTT is also capable of being tuned to the same 335HP, but would most likely have more torque. I think they are playing up to the old desires of some buyers not wanting to have anything to do with Forced induction. Right now we have : LTG 272HP/295lbs LGX (335 hp and 284 lb-ft ) (WHY???) LGW (400HP) LF3 (420HP) LF4 (465HP) LT4 (640HP) Voltech/2.0L Hybrid (335 hp and 432 lb-ft) There has to be someone who looks at this and says "hey.. we have a lot of overlap, why don't we eliminate 2 of them?) I would certainly think the LGX stay in the other brands while making Cadillac completely and only Forced induction. As of now the LF3 has sat in Cadillacs only, and I truly believe that the development of the LF4 was to keep Cadillac from needing to go to the LT1 for its 460+HP needs. The LF4 can easily be tuned to over 500HP as the LF3 is easily tuned to over 500HP. Perhaps a revisit to the "Shortstar" V6 and upcoming TTV8 being called NorthStar or UltraStar would be in order. It doesn't make sense to not take the 2.0L up a notch to the 335HP range or detuning the 3.0L down to 350HP Look at that- a rational, intelligent, reasonable post from Cmicasa in response to someone who was criticizing (albeit more or less constructively) GM. By that same token, your normally rational posts have been a rare commodity over the past week. Just saying.
  5. LOL! I am among some good company then!
  6. I really do think that a lot of Lexus owners are very forgiving about their cars, mostly due to past reputation and the Lexus dealership experience. My old ES300 was a pile and a half and I talked with other owners as well that do not paint nearly as pretty a picture of Lexus as CR does. Just my two cents.
  7. Well, I guess I'm playing my "old fart" card here. 1972 Chevelle SS
  8. LOL.. after the fiasco.. overall.. I seriously doubt it Yeah, it's real easy to profit when you have been cheating the customer for so many years. Audi is quite possibly the worst example he could have given in regards to profits right now.
  9. Why do we have to wait for craftsmanship and quality? The ATS and CTS promised to be as well built as the Germans and Cadillac said they would out perform the Germans. That didn't happen, the sales reflect it. I don't think the Cadillacs are overpriced, as I have said many times they are still priced below the Germans (and Lexus) but they aren't getting the sales. So something must be wrong. Personally, I think they could price the CTS-V at $49,995 and the E-class will outsell it 3-1. Horsepower per dollar isn't why Cadillac loses the battle, there are many reasons beyond that. On the CTS I think the engine comparisons are not as bad as with the ATS. The step up from the turbo 4 on all the German small cars and the Jaguar XE is a supercharged or Turbo Six, all those cars put out 320+ lb-ft of low end torque. That is where the 3.6 V6 is out gunned. The CTS has the V-sport which is good power for the money, but I think also rwd only. At some point Cadillac has to break the brand image problem. That needs done on powertrain, interior, build quality, warranty, dealer service, styling, number of model lines, halo cars, marketing, etc. It is multi-front battle they have to fight. A good example is Car and Driver just tested the Lincoln MKX, which was $63,000, and regardless of how good the product might be, why would anyone buy that over a Mercedes or BMW? Cadillac has the same problem, if you have $65,000 to spend, why not buy the German car, rather than a Cadillac and have to justify to people why you did it. This has been discussed at least three dozen times before. The problem is not so much the cars, but the dealership experience. They have to step those up a notch or three to compete with the Germans and Lexus. That alone is one of the biggest reasons for their struggles. I know GM is working on updating and changing the Cadillac dealerships (they are renovating two in my area) so that will go a long way to solving some of their issues IMO.
  10. That I do agree with you on. They have CUVs on the way but it should have happened at least five years ago.
  11. They are barely six years removed from bankruptcy, unlike every other make mentioned in your post. What dfelt said is 100% applicable here. SMK's post is not trolling. He's merely stating facts. And based on how the LGX V6 has fared in the new Camaro, a vehicle undoubtedly lighter than the CTS, it's pretty clear that this V6 is actually going to be worse than par for the course in performance metrics. Maybe it makes it up in efficiency, but we'll have to wait and see for that. They are incomplete facts when he doesn't take certain events into consideration, which is all I was getting at and was even brought up by felt as well. BTW, why was this included in my post when I didn't say it? "There's a lot of corporate parts-bin sharing even in Mercedes. Cadillac is moving to ensure their parts-bin is top-tier luxury worthy. " I understand editing the personal side of the comment. It was out of line on my part but that last sentence changes my point completely when that is not what I was saying (never mind the fact that I never even said the sentence in question).
  12. And what four might those be? 1. CLS, a mechanical twin to the E-class, but still a step above the E-class. 2. S-class (sedan, coupe, convertible) 3. SL 4. AMG GT I want Mercedes to go after the McLaren P1 and Ferrari LaFerrari, there is rumor that they might. It is shame that they have the best Formula 1 car, and they don't put some of that tech into a road car. I think they could build a better car than the LaFerrari. And all but one of those is way above the V's price range and for under $100K it is the best bang for the buck hi-po sedan out there. Bang for the buck is for Chevy. Cadillac doesn't need to think that way. If they are top tier luxury then Cadillac needs a few $100k+ products. There is no reason they couldn't make a mid engine V12 supercar, or a Tesla-style 650 hp electric car, or a twin turbo V8 grand tourer, etc. Those will all take years to roll out, I get that. I don't think products like that are even on the radar at Cadillac however. I still think Cadillac feels like they can run out some corporate platform SUVs and toss the corporate V6 in the CTS and match up with the Germans, and that just won't cut it. Even though it's probably the best bang for the buck car doesn't mean that Cadillac markets it that way because they clearly don't. There's a lot of corporate parts-bin sharing even in Mercedes. Cadillac is moving to ensure their parts-bin is top-tier luxury worthy. Edit: Cleaned up massively. Avoid referring to a poster's past, whether favorable or not (by your rationality) as a reason to dismiss their argument.

  15. Really want to see the new one in person. Like what I'm seeing so far even though they did not fix my one big problem with it (namely getting in it without knocking my head off in the process).
  16. The Focus ST will be a sure fire hit but I wonder if it doesn't risk stepping on the Mustangs toes a bit with that kind of performance. Also, GM needs to get off their butts and offer some competition for the hi-po compact crowd.
  17. On the PREVIOUS PAGE. "Fact is while the big bump in Mustang sales is a boon for Ford, it is not surprising when you consider, A.) It is a brand new model after ten years of the basically the same car. B.) It's biggest competition, the Camaro, is on the way out with capacity cut months ago (hence their lower sales numbers). It's the same thing the Mustang went through at this time last year (under 4,000 sold in 9/14 I believe). C.) Once the new Camaro is out, then we see more competitive numbers come into play. The last six months mean very little in the grand scheme of things." Like I said, a day late and a dollar short. I anxiously await your apology for being ignorant to this fact. Edit (after the down vote)--Nice. I give you the facts after you accused me of not doing so and then you down vote that very fact. Pathetic LS7. I apologize. 1 out of your 10 or so posts you actually did discuss the thread topic - after you were asked to get on topic. That request to get back on topic was by a troll who also has trouble getting back on topic on top of the fact that he followed that with a personal attack that was deleted by a mod (but not before it was quoted by Bong). Oh, and nice apology to go with the passive aggressive remark (never mind the fact that I only made TWO damn posts before the post in question, not ten as you mistakenly claim). Again, pathetic. Anyways, back on topic...

  19. But look at what GM is pumping out NOW. They have a brand new Colorado/Canyon, '16 Cruze, '16 Malibu, Their half tons were done in '13..updated again for '16, '16 Camaro, CT6, XT5, Bolt, Volt.. What has Chrysler, Dodge, Ram, Jeep done in comparison? I mean I understand when you say those were on older platforms but everything I listed is no longer on those dated platforms and the Chrsler products still are and will be for some years yet. GM is no longer living under their bailout timeline and Chrysler is with too many of their products. A platform generally lasts a minimum of 10 years. 2 completely new designs and generally 2 refreshes. CUSW was new in 13. Dart was new in 13, Cherokee in 14, Renegade in 15, Town and Country next year, Rm is from 09 with a major refresh in 13, Durango and Grand Cherokee were brand new for 11 with Major refreshes in 14 that went way further than skin deep. There is a basically new Pentastar appearing next year in the Grand Cherokee and probably others for 16. The upgrades to the LX platform were pretty major for 15 and there no longer a single component left from the original Benz platform. And the platform works. The LX cars have actually gotten quite a few accolades for the 15s in the handling department. Worry less about the age of a platform and more on how it works and it does. I can attest from m 15 Challenger drive compared to than many earlier ones I have driven, it feels like a new platform. Anyways, to continue, a replacement for the Patriot and Compass are VERY close. We are seeing these vehicles being tested now, at least the ones closest to launch including the Wrangler (thank goodness this keeps it's JK platform!), Compat replacement, and te new minivan. Their whole lineup has actually been redesigned in the least 4 years and MANY have already received major refreshes and their sales are soaring. I do thing the GM merger crap is ridiculous, but otherwise there is nowhere near the doom and gloom out there as Hyper spouts. Stew the Theta and Lambda platforms are the only two old platforms left at GM. Both will be replaced starting this year and next year. The rest of the line up is on new platforms and at least one to two generations of new models offered since the chapter 11. While the 13 Malibu was offered on the older platform it was one new model not just a simple refresh and now we have a new platform and second all new model this year. GM plowed what money they had left into product before the chapter 11 and this permitted them to bring some new product out till the new platforms arrived. While not the best product it was something vs. the simple refresh that the Chrysler cars were. The Dart is re regenerated Fiat corporation product living on discounts already. The LX models are living also on major incentives. How else can you get a 300 for $30K the price of a simple mid size car. The 200 while a nice looking car is a back marker in the segment even with incentives. Nearly every review says it is a better car than the last but far from segment leading. Transmission issues also have been an issue. The Challanger may feel new but it is older than dirt. If it had not been a decent car to start with it would have been a fatal move to just refresh it. But Chrysler can not live just on LX and Hellcat sales alone. The Fiat models have all under performed and many dealers are wanting to bail on the line. Chrysler lacks good small and mid sized cars where the volume and profits are right now and that is what Sergio needs to fix but as of now he can not even afford to pay attention. He lacks major work in Hybrids and EV cars that will hurt them in the future too. This is not just my view but also most every market watcher out there. You really have to get a grip on reality and learn this Italian idiot is killing your company to try to save his own countries brands. If you the fan does not wake up you will lose more models than just Plymouth. The people who watch the markets have put Chrysler at risk and Mitsubishi. Both have low cash reserves and volumes lower than what can sustain spending to improve the brands as needed. Again do you really think Alfa by 2017 will make the 400,000 goal Sergio predicts? Their sales this year are even down from the 168,000 of last year. If the Euro economic conditions remain as they are or worsen it will make things even more difficult than it already is. The trump card here is Chrysler but they still are not getting the money they need to do what they can do. If the world of the Hemi demise is true in 2019 that will damage them even more. This has been the calling card of Chrysler and you remove that for some imported TT V6 and many will turn away. The money also from Ferrari is not going to do much either. A billion today will fix one platform or at least a part of one major platform. I hope you like Jeep and Ram as that is all that may be left it Sergio is not removed soon. With the VW troubles they may make them a better dance partner for Chrysler and the Germans will remove Sergio in a heart beat. You do realize that when you criticize one company for their incentives, you are criticizing all of them (except for the uber luxury and high performance makes of course) right? It is a seriously tired and pointless argument based off of that one simple fact alone.
  20. Well, we can only be online and be in a capacity to moderate at certain times of the day. There's going to be some blind spots in between rotation, but know that your patience will be of great virtue. No worries on my end.
  21. So evidently Wings clever little response got deleted for obvious trolling and a personal attack but not before it got quoted by Bong. Thanks Bong. He has, once again, shown his true colors. Can't click on the right links or click on the right voting options. And it's my grammar that is the issue. Back to the topic...
  22. Don't really know what that means. Really? After the last two pages of sales talk between you two, you don't know? Wow

  24. Why are you feeding him (as evidenced by his lack of knowledge as to why production stopped on the previous F bodies in the first place)? Topic please, stop inciting. Don't have to incite. You're doing a fine job of that yourself. Carry on.
