DaimlerChrysler Approves Small-Car Agreement with Chery
It'll be totally funny because I know that the Chinese cars will have better interiors than other comparable vehicles from Chrysler. ...not as if the bar is set that high...

So I Was Bored...
Art and Science?! No way. Art and Science was cohesive, sharp, and clean looking... not to mention attention-grabbing. This thing is the polar opposite of those. It's also a pile.

I have a bad feeling that this will have implications for surface to air missile systems. Missiles usually win, don't they?...

Contract SIGNED ... my radio shows in April
What?! No Sammy Hagar!? Sounds awesome. I'd love to be able to do a radio show... but I'd make the company go bankrupt by just playing Van Halen, and Rolling Stones 24/7, and constantly ragging on the Prius.

toyota may be afraid
Because Toyota manufactured efficient and well built vehicles which appealed to customers? What were people supposed to buy? K-Cars?!... As much as I tend to dislike Toyota, I give them credit where credit is due.

Jeep Patriot - Off Road Testing
Not bad I guess. A product that might be worthy of GM's cash.

It's official. Chrysler's up for auction...NOT?
If the Chinese buy it out, you will likely see tons upon tons of cash being pumped into Chrysler, and within a few years, each brand will have some of the best looking, and nicest vehicles on North American soil. Not my favorite scenario, but one that is better than Chrysler's total demise.

______ Global Dimming
To be fair, our house, and my dad's property's are all equipped with fluorescent lights that compete with incandescents. We used to have halogen, but with these new lights, the savings are quite nice, and they are very reliable. They also emit plenty of light, and it's pretty close to an incandescent bulb. Changing to energy efficient lights seems much more practical than something like 'carbon trading'

GM's Design Drive Hits the Road
Trust me DF... the Bonneville's refreshed interior could have been worse if it wasn't gotten rid of.

:pokeowned:- It's official. Chrysler's up for auction...NOT?
Now that's what I like to hear.- interesting observation.
Drugs are bad, m'kay.- It's official. Chrysler's up for auction...NOT?
Because that likely would make NO business sense at all. GM doesn't want or have time for a 'fixer upper' that they'll sell to someone else. Why would you spend heaps of cash to turn around a losing company, MAYBE see a profit and then sell it to someone else? It's not like a house that'll appraise in value. It would take much, MUCH longer than just 365 days to turn around a company like Chrysler back to profitability; and in order to do that, Chrysler vehicles would have to be taken off the market and scrapped, and even a division might have to be killed. But as you mention, you don't want that to happen. I'm afraid you cannot have it both ways. Because sadly, it makes the most business sense to kill a few Chrysler products. It's all well and good to talk about the brands and their history and their meaning, but at the end of the day, prudent business decisions will dictate the direction of Chrysler's future in GM. Think of it this way... if this were reversed, and it was GM that was on the auction block, and Daimler is looking to buy it, I would be VERY certain that Pontiac, and Buick would be gone. But unfortunately, it's not that way.- Guy buys barn, finds horseshoe up his ass
But you might be lucky to get that 50th Anniversary Edition Hybrid Camry!- What is Wrong With These Guys?
Thank God 'RUSH' is still around, or I'd go crazy.- Flint: Chrysler's In Play
I find it funny that Bill Gates is mentioned because just yesterday I was joking around about Microsoft Vehicles. Gates DID say that if cars were like computers, they'd be like $25 and get 1,000 miles to the gallon. Here's his chance. Oh, and Flint is still a butt-burglar.- The Saga Continues!
There was some computer jargon thrown in with what the guys at the Toyota shop said about our problem, but it sounds like what you said seems to be the gist of it. It's not really my business. My mom drives it, do my Dad's supposed to be on top of it, but he really hates dealing with the motor. The van has kept a pretty good residual value, and it'll likely be replaced in two years or so with something from a Domestic... perhaps a Chrysler product brought to us by GM :AH-HA_wink:.- It's official. Chrysler's up for auction...NOT?
?... I'm not sure how Kia is irrelevant to Hyundai? Hyundai is gradually moving upmarket, and needs to have a low cost player to compete against the likes of Scion, Mitsubishi, Chevrolet/Daewoo's Aveo and others.- HHR Swims Across the Pond
'Iconic American Looks' Isn't that how you DON'T sell to the Europeans? They seem like a fickle bunch. I love the HHR, but I don't have the highest of hopes for it in Europe. It'll likely be a bit too pricey for it's category.- The Saga Continues!
Heh. Our Sienna is having a few problems as well. Something about the fuel injection not working properly, meaning the engine is way underpowered. Last time we listen to Consumer Reports...- It's official. Chrysler's up for auction...NOT?
I'm sure if this situation were reversed and it was Chrysler looking to pick up GM, there would be plenty of Mopar fans saying similar things, and making of GM's 'sissy' 5.3L. I know it sounds depressing talking about Chrysler being picked apart, with GM taking the spoils, but if GM does acquire the Minivan and Jeep, and perhaps the Caliber, you can be sure that GM will use those vehicles to their full potential and likely give the competition some real heat. That's probably the best ending for Chrysler in this situation. - Super Corvette spy photog NOT arrested!
