  1. gasp, who'da thunk gas prices would go back up?
  2. you mean polymer... and it was on the Fiero before that.
  3. Just a reminder that they've already said that this car doesn't meet US safety specs, and it'd take 3 years to do it, so they won't... We get the next gen as a Saturn in 4-5 years. Not that lots of customer pressure couldn't change that. Personally, I'd love to see lots of customer pressure move the next gen up a year or two, so we get the next gen, preferably built here.
  4. Not to be the party pooper, but hasn't this been a historically HORRIBLE thing to count on? If current battery technology is there, and they just need cost down, I could see that, but if they're needing some great advance in battery technology, then that's quite a roll of the dice...
  5. I would like to thank Toyota for being willing to make a concept like this, and hope the production version doesn't change much from this. Makes my car (and all other cars) look so much better.
  6. curious what the graph looks like when adjusted for inflation... I'm sure it's still upward, but would the adjustment make any noticeable dent?
  7. what makes it "apparently so"?
  8. Yeah, 3-spokes look good, but I like to hold the wheel at 6 o'clock when I'm on the interstate. The 3rd spoke is just annoying for me.
  9. front & back look ok, but from the side it looks awkwardly proportioned. And what's with the little windows up front?
  10. Can we have something OTHER than 3-spoke steering wheels, please?
  11. TWO DOLLA! While Chrysler is worth far more than that, it's not to GM. It's headaches upon headaches, and even at two bucks, would be questionable about being worthwhile to have to sift through. All the product cuts, plant closures, etc would be devastating to GM's PR, and expensive. While the brand nameplates hold value, most of the product nameplates hold far less, and the product nameplates that do hold value are already being milked by recent Chrysler products that mostly wouldn't jive well with GM products.
  12. lots of good stuff... but I'm getting tired of so many 3-spoke steering wheels.
  13. that pic doesn't look long enough to be a matrix... it doesn't even have windows behind the rear doors, really. Anyone know how the length compares to the current model?
  14. The RL looks better proportioned in these pics than in past ones. Looks pretty good, IMO.
  15. Not sure I'd go as far as "awful", but I agree - the front looks pretty good, while the rear isn't so great.
  16. No love for Saturn? No problem - I'll see it all myself next saturday...
  17. well, considering the mini is currently FWD and already handles great... I don't see what you have to whine about.
  18. Sounds like a good idea to me...
  19. someone should change the thread title...
  20. the gauges would look cool if they weren't center-mounted. Well, center-mount doesn't bother me, but the land of bland in front of the driver does...
  21. I somewhat liked the look of the xA, but this thing is horrible.
  22. I can imagine what you're talking about, and it's a good looking car, but it really wouldn't be a good fit in the caddy lineup, IMO. They already have a convertible that's much more fitting for caddy (power hardtop, more room, more power), so a second one just doesn't seem like a great idea. Also, they'd have to rework much of it to get it to feel high enough quality for a caddy.
