  1. my point was that mazda replaced the wagon with the cx-7 and cx-9 cause the wagon wasn't selling well. and canada is more favorable to wagons than the usa. the maxx didn't light up the sales charts either, even though it was probably a better buy than the base malibu.
  2. it is too big, clunky and heavy for mainstream utilization in the world of $4-$5/gal gas. the market will not support it. kinda like GMT-900 is not old, but sales are tanking.
  3. you yanks don't buy wagons. you want crossovers. heck even in canada, mazda dropped the wagon version of the Mazda. people want Vue and CRV, not wagongs. (a wagon Malibu would be cool though.)
  4. zeta was 5yrs too late to market (typical GM). so face the facts, zeta is dead man walking. sadly, alpha is not ready for prime time and is sadly late to market (typical GM).
  5. I don't care if your name is Jesus Christ, you don't get promoted to be the lead dog of GM based on your good graces. You have a politically minded group of people pulling you up and an equally politically minded group pushing you. This is just a different old boys club making their way to the top.
  6. GM is in deep $h!. they needed another 18-24 months before gas prices went thru the roof to convince people that their cars are half-way decent.
  7. I have a PLAN. And I am willing to share the first 20 Steps to all those who will listen. Sincerely, BM
  8. either RW and company are complete masterminds and have managed to keep their strategic plan so secretive that everyone will be stunned in 5 years when GM is the world's largest auto manufacturer and makes more profits than toyota. or, GM hasn't got a damn clue how to become a global car manufacturer, with key brand definitions and marketing programs to promote the brands and the products/portfolio mix to support the brands. i see no evidence of the latter, i see no evidence that pontiac is getting any new product that to suggest that gm has any clue as to what pontiac represents in the market today and what it should represent tomorrow. in fact what i do see, is the potential third and forth storm front with continued additional increases in gas prices thus hammering large truck sales and in turn profits, and a new 'green' initiative by the next government that further complicates the future of the internal combusiton engine. in that situation, i'd gm is in some pretty deep $h! and may surive, as a shell of their former self. their only wild card might be if they can leapfrog the Hybrid Synergy Drive technology and marketing machine, with the Volt, e-volt and any other new fandangled technology. that would be a game changer. without that, they are lost at sea floating around with no motor and no wind. and btw, i have no idea why us Canucks love our Pontiacs. we must have had a cladding fetish!
  9. perhaps the most telling sign of yet another hint that pontiac is doomed, is the reduced number and far more feeble cries of those that believe GM is better served with more brands than less. there used to be outrage in large numbers. it seems that most people have accepted that Pontiac is on life-support and that it is only a matter of time before the plug is pulled. it's sad, but it has to happen.
  10. well, outisde of many trades, trucks are useless. do u think people need escalades, tahoes H2''s, envoys etc???
  11. oh look, some new chrome side vent. never seen that before on any other car (yawn) real question is did they re-do the interior? not that either will translate into a significant bump in sales.
  12. since when does a dealer know diddly squat about future plans? most are clueless.
  13. zeta was 5 years too late. CAFE, high gas prices and the environmental 'movement' have killed it.
  14. come on man - lighten up! would you feel better if I had put a bunch of cute icons in my post. here's a few I couldn't care less about Josh. Was just a little reminiscing about the good ole days. As for Fly, don't know where he is, don't care where he is, but I wish him well. He was certainly much of the glue that has kept this place going over the years. And for anyone who is a friend of Fly's, I suspect that they would know how to get a hold of him. And for those that are truly concerned, you should likely try something other than an open chat on a public forum with a thread that started as a mild bemusing of why he's not posting these days.
  15. ya, kinda reminds me of another guy that used to post all the time on C&G. he got into some good banter with josh and others. then all of a sudden he disapperared. i've noticed lately that he's back with some periodic posts - but no where near the volume of previously. :AH-HA_wink: Welcome Back!!
  16. sure - fly, josh and PCS - the three of them have stopped posting for a while. might be a day, a week or forever.
  17. the three of them have 'shelved' their posting for a little while. btw, anyone remember when josh promised the camaro on the street and in lots by (i can't recall specifically, but some date that has long since passed).
  18. More important than C&G???? Does such a thing exist?
  19. maybe he just realized that there is more to life that spending 18hours a day posting on C&G! a lesson several others on here need to learn.
  20. how does yap blathering about making mistakes reflect on kenzie and malloy's oriiginal article? the grand prix did well, but both kenzie and malloy stand by their original assertion that the gp behaved 'oddly' at one point during the original test drive. they never said it didn't happen, and they never retracted their original evaluation.(i can;t remember the original problem, but it was some odd/weird behaviour under braking - twitcy behaviour or something) the second run vs the maxima was a flattering review of the gp, ending with kenzie further assertion that as great as a performer as the gp was, it was unlikely to draw any maxima or accord propstecs into the fold. and i think history has proved him correct on that front too.
  21. love kenzie but for the record, kenzie never admitted guilt. he stands by his original story. however, to his credit did take lutz up on his offer and took a maxima to detroit for a showdown with the grand prix.
  22. a significant freshening of the exterior and an all new interior will suffice.
  23. that's what made it so funny!!!!!!!!!!
  24. re-read "chrysler is on death watch" the future of SRT is really moot then isn't it.
