2007 Cadillac DTS loaded
That's a nice car. I don't like Cadillacs (more formal and pretentious than what I like to portray) but I do like this model, so much so that I did a thread on it because, when I was on the Florida Panhandle, my hotel had a Caddy dealership down the street and I would go look at them at night. Yes, it is a good price. But, if the color and the options aren't right, I wouldn't be happy because I keep them for a long (duh) time. The dark interior does not appeal to me, especially in leather. OUCH. I know this sounds whacked, but I wish the Level I would feature a cloth (credit) option. Wow, Caddy dashes have come a long way and they are now somewhat driver oriented. A buying guide I looked at still said the base models have a floaty ride, but it has to be better than what they had 10 to 20 years ago. If they had a light metallic blue one with a grey or navy cloth interior, I might be tempted.

It's Official: Commodore coming to US as a Pontiac
Is the GP gone as a result of this or will it co-exist? I think there would be some cannabalization (is that a proper derivative of the word?) Or is the GP set for mid-cyle enhancement along with the LaCrosse? I'm wondering if the Pontiac line-up is starting to get a little crowded. It is a nice car, though. It just needs to be Pontiac-ed up a little.

2007 Dodge Caliber SXT
Hey, The O.C., does CVT feel "harsher" than a transaxle? I thought there would no bumps and grinds from shift points? Is it a simpler assembly that would be less expensive to fix? Is gas mileage better? I am really curious about it and would like to test drive something that has it.

What is the average income of a C&Ger
Yo, TYD, would living in Woodbridge or Richmond Hill be boring beyond tolerance? I like QUIET. Most downtown dwellers (such as yourself) typically don't like the burbs. That's a pretty good price for a Yonge/Bloor type location.....how many square feet/meters is it?

Congrats, bud! Is that the last part of the whole series or just the last one you attempted? Was it Building Design/Building Planning and the Site Planning ones? That is stuff I stashed away from my memory a while back. Don't even want to think about that. But I'm happy for you!

Your favorite season?
I interviewed in Denver in 2003. I decided against it. As I drove across Utah and Wyoming, it occurred to me I would be far from "an end"....a coast or boundary of sorts. The other thing, as much as I like to "road trip," if you don't head west into the Rockies or north or south into other mountain destinations: Estes Park, etc. etc, then there are no large urban areas to visit. It is a nice place that offers a lot, has sunshine and low humidity, including reasonably priced housing (lots of good townhomes in the 'burbs). It didn't feel right. It's weird how, as a Westerner, Atlanta (extremely different from where I grew up) feels like a better fit than an Intermountain West city like Denver. Regardless, back to weather and seasons, the Rockies probably put on a spectacular color show in the fall and the stands of aspen must be breathtaking. Amazing.

The typical idiotic and caustic side of ocn rears it ugly head. Your low self-esteem causes you to look at ANYTHING you consider a "clue" or "indication" in others (as you do with several people on this board, or even celebrities and personalities in the spotlight) so that you can swell your ranks to make you feel better in a "misery likes company" sort of way. If that's what I wanted, I would have pursued that option...as I have with all of the other goals I have gone after. My comment was merely based on the almost excessive level of flirtation one would have never expected on an automotive forum and the few that overindulge in it....sometimes funny and sometimes annonying. What a jerk! By the way, this comment does not go out to those who might have those feelings and inclinations and can enjoy C&G without starting or derailing ongoing threads about or toward their sexual proclivities, respectively. Back to pictures, I hope...

That's pretty good for Portland if not living in Lake O, the West Hills or West Linn. Aren't you in property management?

Your favorite season?
It's the first of October and I was surprised to see a smidgeon of color in the tree leaves. I'm definitely a warm weather animal, liking warm places such as CA and FL. However, I would have to say that fall is the most picturesque. I mean, a lot of places look like Thomas Kincaid paintings and, in this cooler weather, you can putz around in a sweatshirt or sweater, do the coffehouse thing and walk on forested paths. Beautiful. I will be going to Montreal and Quebec in exactly 2 and 1/2 weeks to take a week of vacation. I hope there's enough color when I get there. Every year, the peak time is slightly different. So, I voted "fall" for the beauty, though summer is more convenient, mainly for the beach weather. What is your opinion?

What is the average income of a C&Ger
Oh, yeah, the poll. God, dsuupr, what an invasion of privacy! Just kidding. I do ok, but for all the education, it's not THAT great and I'm exhausted all the time.

I saw nice all-brick newer homes in Woodbridge for $ 400k to $ 500k CDN (that would be about $ 320k to $ 400k US) for a really nice house, but you probably wouldn't want to live there. I'd fit right in from all the Italians I saw! Why the heck is auto insurance so high? Driving there was WAY easier than in any major Northeastern U.S. city.

What the heck are these things?
OK...a year off....but, damn, it is BROWN for a good chunk of the year. Nothing like driving through the coastal range in late March and early April when all the oak-studded hills are GREEN!

Feel Good About GM
I feel good about GM. I think it will do well. I don't think it will do "rip-roaringly" well, though. The 60s are gone. In marketing classes I have taken, it is strongly indicated that, if a company can manage costs fairly well across volume changes, then market share can readily be tied to percentage changes in profits. That being said, GM needs to up its market share. Though I personally dislike Escalades, I am ecstatic to see that most people driving them are under 50 (or so it seems). Once we see scads of people that are fairly young (a relative term, I guess) getting into an Aura, a CTS, a new RWD Impy, a Solstice or a Cobalt...and they LIKE it...they will come back for that next GM purchase. This is absolutely critical. We (God, I don't even work for GM, but I am that loyal) cannot disenfranchise current purchasers of GM products. The survival of their portfolio of brands, and the company, depends on NOT (re)making the mistakes of the Roger Smith era.

2008 LaCrosse Makeover?
Agreed. That would harmonize the brand as well as make it appropriately more contemporary (it might even fetch a few younger buyers).
