  1. If I was Caddy marketing executive, I shall strongly market the wagon as an alternative to CUVs, SUVs, BUVs, ZUVs, or whatever the hell they call those things. Good job Caddy. Glad that they kept the Manual transmissions and the engines. When is the 2.8DI replacing the non-DI 3.6?
  2. A Saturn Vue drawn with rulers and setsquares instead of French Curves.
  3. Small compared to Big three in term of investment, but significant if you look at the sales to investment ratio. The Texas plant got them into 1.2 Billion mark not counting R&D for vehicles that will not have sales of more than 200,00 per annum. Compared to that GM invested close to 3 Billion in GMT 900's which commanded a sale volume of 14 - 1.5 million in 07. Not bad. I think Toyota lost more badly per vehicle in the bet for big vehicles compared to Big 3.
  4. You forgot about how heavy it is and how late in the life cycle it is compared to the BMW 3er models.
  5. Nothing else better than this. Build it with DI3.6 Turbo and 6 speed or an LS engine with 6 speed and make it RWD.
  6. Wait, didn't they promise that they will have a 40 mpg car in 2009? I think they added the caveat, not for United States in 2009.
  7. Sure there is room in a DTS for the reason 6-speeds are more compact and lighter than the 4-speeds they replaced. Smaller should fit in anything where the larger used to fit, right? Unless this law changed! I think the 6-speeds are restrained by production capacity rather than engineering capability. If W and G soldier on we may see the transmission (hopefully) in those vehicles.
  8. Edmunds says, "6-speed you are OUT." only 5 Speed AUTOMATICS apply.
  9. One way the dealerships can argue against this strategy is by suing GM on the basis that GM did not "nurture" the brand and if proven in the court that GM set its investment $$$ to other brands while starving Hummer, dealers will have a case and it may get ugly.
  10. Good GM Strategy. 1. Tell people that brand is for sale yet say everything is on table to be considered. The smoke screen strategy. 2. Put fear factor in the minds of the people and dealer (salespersonnel fleeing). 3. Negotiate at a lower price and avoid embarrassment aka Oldsmobile style. Now I am really wondering if they are going to sell or just shut the brand down.
  11. Seen one cruising down the Chicago I-94 - steel gray metallic - has a solid presence. Satty, you can get a nice used 645i for about $35K.
  12. Porsche + Maserati + Mercedes = Not Bad.
  13. I like the idea of downsizing Saab. Saab should be a lean, clean, green, and mean brand.
  14. Wrong Sir! BMW sedan came in April 0f 2005 as a 2006 model, a month after European launch. The coupes and covertibles came in over a year later in August 2006 as 2007 models, that is when they dropped the 330i sedan to become 335i sedan, which joined as a 2007 model in September 2006. Get your facts straight. 2006 MY Coupes and convertibles for BMW 3er were the old style. And they JUST released the M3 for sale in first quarter of 2008, that spans about 3 years since the first 3 series surfaced.
  15. The way the Ring is set up, its slow corners support the FWD biased or AWD cars. That is why you can argue the GTR with its good AWD system can bring down the time so much despite being at a weight disadvantage. However, I am surprised why the the 911 Turbo has posted a lower number. A heavier RWD car can really slow down on the ring. I definitely can believe in the 8:20 timing of the Camaro.
  16. It could have been better is an understatement. Even Shrek and Aztek look like a supermodels in front of this. I think Acura were chasing Infiniti in sense of monstrosity and ugliness and went one leg up. Glad to see they were competing.
  17. What No Navigation? Gorgeous car outside. Interior needs more warming up. But looks good quality, I certainly do not find it cheap.
  18. I love that Black/ gunmetalesque Bowtie. Simple yet gorgeous rims. Looks very good and commanding.
  19. At least it is not sharing the first two alphabets with the competing product from Big T. A good product, solid marketing and strategic placement will take GM to new grounds with this product, even if you name it ####rol.
  20. Not bad but not good either. Those wheels are nice and I agree with siegen regarding the lower facia. But the car looks generic Hyundaish, from B pillar beyond. Can someone chop out that ugly shield and just make the nose without it? I want to see just plain mesh grill. Current car is not bad looking from the outside, and interior is very simple to move hands over all the important buttons. I hope they do not screw up the interior like th TSX by making it have zillions of buttons, and funky curves.
  21. Is it probably because Jilly Girl has other male executives by their balls (idiom usage here)?
  22. Does anyone think that the rumor has been sent online "through confirmed GM sources" by fanboys of Mustang, Challengers, and may be even 350z's considering how much potential Camaro has?
