  1. anyone with pointers on how to get rid of skunk smell from a car, let me know. grrrrrrr . was not me who hit the skunk remains
  2. DRIVEN: 2019 Ford Edge ST AWD 2.7t Prior Ford Edge Titianium review here for comparison https://www.cheersandgears.com/forums/topic/85019-2015-ford-edge-titanium-awd-20/ HIGHS: Lots of room, front and back, the Edge is cavernous 'Grand Touring' ride (for a crossover). That is to say, comfortable. 2.7 it strong once it spools up. EPA ratings are quite good for the 2.7t. Nice commanding view of road and good overall visibility, which is getting more rare in crossovers. Nice looking wheels. Power adjustable steering column! Love that feature..... Big discounts on these right now, you get a lot for your money with the ST at these discounted prices. LOWS: Design was new in 2015, it's already getting overly familiar (aka, dated?) I don't really think there is a ton of actual sport here to be honest, in the steering and handling. Plus, the vehicle is heavy and it sort of feels heavy HAs the overall Ford 'cobbled together' feel.....Fords are getting more and more like that all the time it seems.... Interior design gets a rap, and I think the design is maybe ok but the plastics are a bit lacking in this upper trim IMO, and the touchscreen and climate controls seems sort of cheap. I think there will be those out there that like the bolstered seats, they are done ok, but I am as i get older and wider less and less a fan of bolstered seats from a comfort perspective. I accuse the v6 of having some turbo lag.....you have to wait too long for it to spool up, IMO....maybe its the transmission. Most folks, I think, will feel more at home in a well loaded SEL or Titanium with the turbo four, I hate to say. Makes me question the need for a sporting crossover segment. Do you maybe want a Nautilus or Grand Cherokee instead? Car and Driver may have had it right.....they chose the Blazer over the Edge 4 cylinder....and I think some folks may pick the Blazer over the Edge overall. Almost feels like you are riding in an F150 without the pickup bed.....you're owning the road...... SUMMARY: Not a bad rig, and nice power and lots of creature comforts. Lots of space and utility but, It has a Ford cobbled together / throwaway feel and feels heavy and not always as sporty as the look advertises. Drive one yourself to judge, and then decide if you want one for sporty driving or if you just want a crossover with top of the line trim and the biggest engine. It's your call,
  3. Fix it again Tony
  4. Ford Edge ST test drive today. I just don’t think the idea of ‘sports crossover’ works well at the end of the day. But they also have a used Stelvio on the lot. Hmmm. The Stelvio has cobwebs on it. Lol
  5. I think the 2.0 has a role in the CT5 for someone who wants the larger interior but doesn’t want to spend over a certain amount. So that CT5 with the 2.0 has to cost more than the ct4 with the 2.0 but that difference amount has to reflect the value of the larger interior. It may be a ‘cheap’ go to work car for some mid-high level manager corporate type person whose spouse or partner drives the X5 or whatever. in the ct6 the 2.0 has no use. And I think it was already discontinued. The 2019 ct6 with the new 2.0 is a rare bird / collectible. A bit of a unicorn.
  6. I would have liked to see this new engine be up on power and torque about 10%. The ct6 when it switched from the old 2.0 to the new one lost about a second in 0-60 time. So I think they still could have put 10% more power into it so it at least topped 250hp and it may come closer to matching the prior ats 0-60. Even if you have more powerful engine options there is always going to be that buyer that can only afford the base engine. And if the base engine is too slow particularly compared to the competition, then the car will sit on lots unsold. That does no one at GM any good. thats the picture I like BTW even with caddies more attractive pricing they need to actually work on super attractive leases to offset the typical cheap bmw leases. That is where sales are made in bread and butter luxury segments.
  7. I am liking this more and more, a kind of reskin that looks good. The white one pictures here are nice. And the interior is much improved. But as mentioned, the size of it is small and that has always been a problem for the ATS, its just that much too small that it hurt sales. With a new motor, trans, and interior and the reskin if they keep the price in line, it may develop into a decent entry level car. To do that, GM will have to get the cheap leases going. I really dig the dash design of the CT4 and CT5. Still annoyed that blind spot is not standard on a caddy. It hurts that the Ct4 looks way nicer than the CT5 IMO
  8. I've been looking closer at the crossover market more and more and TBH so very few of them look good enough to fall into the liking the look category. If I look within GM, i think the Blazer looks better than the Acadia, even if it doesn't have the rear seat. I like the XT4 but its a bit small. The Xt5 is a nice package although not uber nice inside, and actually is cost close to the Blazer in some trims right now. The Buick has the Envision which i like (except for the nasty plood dash) and the Enclave, which I don't need 2 vehicles that big. The Equinox / Terrain twins, I just am not in love with although i think they fit the market ok. So I've considered looking at an Edge ST, but it may be pricey. And, the Edge is already looking dated as well.
  9. agree that the base wheels are less than amazing. Chevy has got to start gashing prices on these soon, since they are so overpriced. Leasing is actually good on these now. They may get me sucked in. Hey there's worse, like I could drive a Santa Fe. One thing to note, for 2020 as Chevy is adding the 2.0 to the Blazer line, I do not think the v6 will be available on the 1LT. If that is the case, this is your only chance to get a 1LT with cloth and a low price with a V6. Chevy did add a wheel upgrade option to the 1LT that is quite rare but it really helps the look. However, it also adds $1999! to the price of an already overpriced vehicle. This one was on the lot in my hometown for less than a week and it was gone Someone must have liked the wheels . Really also sucks you can't get a moonroof on the LT, either. That's bush league GM tactics as usual. I really dig red hot.
  10. Looks ok except it has the dreaded front side window in front of the a pillar. That’s nerd status automatically. Overall pretty interesting though.
  11. whoa. did i miss out on the info on this, SPARK ACTIV. Now we are even trying to make Sparks look like CUV's.
  12. Right. But leasing if you do that sort of thing is set up cheap on these right now. I had a feeling that was the case.
  13. Used the ACC on the van again today. Awesome. The uconnect works well and I love the big blind spot monitors. Gauges too. As you describe all works nicely.
  14. was getting oil change today on the chrysler, and they had a loaded gladiator in the showroom. cool truck, a bit tight inside for my liking but size wise fine for small to mid size truck. I didn't like climbing up and in to it. Which of course is ok as an off road machine but as a daily driver I think something with easier ingress and egress and more cabin room would be nice. Really like the split top and i actually would find the truck bed large enough to be useful (haul the snowblower for example).
  15. while i agree with what you said, i am skeptical that GM, Ford etc. is keeping market share.
  16. With others up will this be a bad quarter for GM and ford / fca
  17. yes, lots of truth there. However, some have managed to pull off some distinction I feel. The Volvos have a scultping that I think people are able to recongnize as distinct (the Xc90 for example). I think the Lexus RX also. I just think that on the side of the XT6 there isn't really even a hint of Cadillac in it. The XT5 has a bit of the older SRX in them and also still has a bit of the art and science vibe to it, as well as some CTS influences. The side flanks of the XT6 I don't think they even had the time to really explore even some decent character lines.
  18. actually i never really noticed it but there's probably some folks out there that wouldn't be able to tell them apart aside from the d-bag that usually is piloting a BMW
  19. I'll admit, even though the XT6 and the forsaken XL7 are almost peas in a pod (same size, same motor)... It actually does turn out that the XT6 side profile is quite a bit different than the SEX L 7 I will say the XT6 has quite a big ass though. We are talking Kardashian huge here. BTW is there anything about the profile of the XT6 that is identifiable as a Cadillac without seeing the Cadillac badge on the car?
  20. Touched a 2020 Acadia last weekend. It wasn’t an AT4 but the front end looks SOOOOO MUCH better
  21. that Corolla Estate is not bad.
  22. no one goes to hang out but so many of the newer dealerships are honda, nissan, vw, import name places, and they have really nice areas to sit with fancy coffee machines and those areas generally are really nice spaces to be in. So if you are getting an oil change, it feels more like a coffee shop or food spot that you like to spend time at. my ultimate point was that there were no SHOPPERS there at the dealership either. Some Buick spots are way better than others, i just think 50% of the Buick GMC dealerships maybe get it, and the other 50% are probably in business until dad the owner dies...its like they haven't a clue about how people shop for vehicles these days. You gotta have a place people like to go to, and market enough so shoppers are drawn to the business....that is my parting shot at non best price dealerships.
