    My Humps

CHERRY PIE IS THE GREATEST SONG EVER
  2. no lie. wife is loading up the kid at a burger joint in a town on the way. rear drivers door open. all vacant spots to the left the car....like 15 of them seriously. we were about 40-50 feet from the entry door into the building. old lady, old a body buick century. couldn't wait till we were done, nor could she have moved one spot over. she decided to pull into the next spot and she simply couldn't miss the car. fortunately she did BARELY miss taking out my wife's legs, and she managed to nail the open rear door. FORTUNATELY she managed enough restraint so that she directly hit the plastic pontiac er, cladding, on the bottom the of the door. Popped the f6cking cladding off entirely and the holder piece behind it. Because she hit the cladding first and it took the impact, the rest of the door moved out of the way enough to clear the corner of her bumper, thus avoiding the main part of the door and the structure taking any structural or paint damage. right now its looking like trim work only. My wife is still ambulatory, and i am not a single parent. and 'gladys' (name withheld) still got to enjoy her hot and fresh burger without major guilt. F-k was i livid though. HAD THE RIG ONE WEEK AND ALREADY THE AARP HAS A BOUNTY OUT ON ME! this will be the third trip to the body shop this year. combine that with the dent the dealer needs to fix that was not caught at delivery and I HAVE HAD IT with people trying to rape my cars this year!!!!!!!!! SON OF A BISH!!!!!!!!!!! the curse has hit me three times now in less than a year, WTF did i do to deserve this?
  3. oy vey! that's spendy!!!!!!! oh wait, those are CA $$$$$$
  4. third time in less than a year! the new car, had it a week and it got nailed! F*CK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. old man got a new car! (new for him, he never buys new off the lot, well almost never) he IS a GM diehard. and he is tight. nothing less than cadillac will do. his 92 seville is aging but still about 75k miles young. any guess what he just bought? Will update in a little while......
  6. just got back from a 600+ mile trip in the new T-Rex. 21.5 for the first 1/3 of the trip in stiff winds but the last 2 parts were serious stop and no go and seriously horrible winds, probably netted about 19 at best for the last 2 parts. still ok i guess for a 4500 lb vehicle with awd and 3 people and loaded up a lot.
  7. that taurus x in my garage sure looks like a nice alternative to a nox or a vue as well. effing thing handles close to a sedan, 263hp 6 speed prob gets better mpg than the vue also. i like the equinox and the vue, the eq badly needs an update and it seems like GM screwed the pooch on what they had going with the Vue. If i were Gm i would dump this captiva or at least trim 500 pounds off it.
  8. does he have the duratec taurus or the old pushrod 3.0? if its the pushrod 3.0, the mpg will be about the same as the lesabre. either 3.0 in that year taurus will be bulletproof and i think the tranny issues were fixed by then also. the lesabre is an ok car, but doesn't have modern ergonomics or even supportive seats, which at least that gen of taurus had. check for antilock brakes too......not sure it was standard on the lesabre of that vintage. the taurus has nice firm upright seating positions. the lesabre seats are low and squishy and not at all supportive. i would check on the lesabre if the transmission issues and gasket issues were fixed. also, check airbags.

  10. whoever packaged hiperf hybrid in an attractive package will be the new paradigm. this car might do it. toyota doesn't have the ability to make a stylish vehicle. they won't be the ones to do it. honda has some serious mental masturbation issues in their styling department lately too.
  11. pot, meet kettle. Kettle, say hello to pot.
  12. assuming they can build more than a few and sell them at a price that does something. i love it tho, awesome looking car. a little chunky, but it makes the prius look like crap.
  13. i've only driven it with the 5 speed manual. i haven't driven an automatic. but oh my, the handling and the brakes. go take one out and get it up to high speed and then stand on the brakes. GM never does brakes like that on typical cars. WOW.
  14. not sure why, but i am DRAWN to the Astra. ugh, no power, but still I like the car......
  15. Love the HHR. I don't see chevy making a mazda5 clone to replace the HHR. Myself I would like the HHR to be a little larger, not much though. Maybe the max it should be is equiunox size. HHR really out to be on epsilon, but then it would not be as inexpensive. catch 22. Why GM doesn't have a simple crossover on Epsilon boggles the mind. Mazda 5 stumbled out of the sales gate but has sold like gangbusters lately. however, it really needs better mpg if the owner is going to suffer by having a slow 4 popper to move all those people. 25mpg real world, 22 most of the time is the book i hear on the mazda 5. A FWD taurus will get you that with 263hp under the hood. design wise, the HHR hood is too long and the vehicle could be wider with fender flares not quite so pronounced. Make the innards more spacious and lighten the pillars a bit. that's nitpicking really. HHR is shining star IMHO.
  16. makes sense for chevy to offer this although maybe better for saturn? not bad by any means
  17. ford = we'll add weight to every vehicle we sell, just to get high crash scores... GM= we won't update anything for years......
  18. lots of new cars here at work lately. friend who's 11 yo pathfinder exploded antifreeze just got a used 06 today. also, another friend at work just got a 1 year old nissan quest. people need cars, i think used sales have to be up.
  19. let the beatings begin.
  20. had to make a side trip out of town tonight with the new ride (Taurus X AWD). there....230.8 miles/10.50 gallons=21.98 mpg back.....214.0 miles/10.10 gallons=21.18 mpg dealing with 3 people on board and a stiff breeze each way would have liked to see 24-25, epa hwy is 22. front drive only we'd prob improve those numbers a fair amount. 10% maybe.

  22. sounds like the camaro v8 is set up to walk all over the mustang and chrysler products.
  23. crutchfield sells replicas of the old style 2 knob radios now, but with ipod inputs and mp3 and all of that. perfect for having new car tech and old car style in your restoration vehicles.
  24. they are calling it 'MyLink' or something. Can I voice command it? No.
