ya, I would love that, but thinking price range for this type of car.....basically a 5-series type car for around 30-35k base, we're basically talking about the Cadillac CTS.

hmm....did you really read all his posts? There's a lot more there than you are saying. There is one post on page three. Towards the bottom, just before mine, in response to someone saying they are a young college student, and small affordable RWD would make a lot of sense, his response is "Pick your body style..." Also, he quoted Jack Keebler when Keebler said he was intent on creating a line of small agile and affordable RWD cars. It really can't get much clearer than that...

the question is what platform will this be on. ifremember ah-ha made a post here about a month ago I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. This is a quote from God, in the Bible, he was there in the first and is there in the end as well. There has recently been a lot of talk about Zeta being very flexible, inclusively the question was asked if Zeta shortened could be the foundation for a small RWD platform, and Lutz said it was possible but not likely. I think Zeta could have something to do with this new small platform.

it sounds like Pontiac will essentially become a one line brand. they will offer a variety of bodystyles based on one car basically. 3-series offers wagon, sedan, coupe, vert........Pontiac will offer at least this, probably a hatch too, and obviously the successor to Solstice. According to Chaz, aside from a possible Commodore/G8 in limited supply, Pontiac is still not in on Zeta.
-
no, definitely not. these are insiders who have a source of information. what we used to have at this site. they would not talk about this kind of thing, unless there was development going on. also, a lot of statements in the recent past have pointed in this direction. it's information on the future of Pontiac.
-
it reveals Pontiac will get a small line of RWD cars, finally. It reveals Pontiac has great product coming, because Chazman has faith in it, and he has pretty high standards. It reveals roughly the pricing of the cars.....reference the line about Scion owners graduating to Pontiac, to me that means the 22k-25k base price market is about where our small RWD Torana-like car will be, and a fierce competitor to the 3-series.

wow, from that angle it actually looks pretty decent. I think 120 inches is way too long for the STS in its current market positioning for a replacement of the current car, but somewhere in the middle of 116 and 120 ought to differentiate the cars plenty enough.

he's probably a democrat. i know chicagoans are very politically motivated, they involve themselves in manners that proves they are attentive to what's going on out there. ya our governor stayed too, i guess that sucks or it's okay, i don't pay too much attention to the governator.

Britney has some entertainment value even though she has shown her "true colors" in the past couple of years. This is good news for her, and for the world, this guy becoming famous was a blight on society [this week has been the week to repeal all evils, literally]. Everybody breathe, it's fresh air.

The chop brings it that much closer to the original Dodge Dakota. I no likey.....it looks good, but now I can really see the Dakota connection, and I like the concept better.

The reason they see these cars as such a waste is not because of thier existance, but how they are used. Being that C&D is based in LA, most big SUVs are usually carrying one person, especially in Hollywood they are merely image vehicles. They are meant to represent what the design characterizes, I am big, I am tough, and I don't care what you think. That's the biggest reason they are so successful in LA, because they are supposed to be intimidating. So, in that context, and remembering C&D is based in LA, where parking is limited, streets are congested with these huge trucks, and we all like our small cars, either for efficiency or pure driveability.....you can begin to see why C&D thinks these are such a waste. I'm sure GM wouldn't be the only company they would want to include, but since GM is the most successful and most plentiful in the particular arena they are talking about [Escalades, Tahoes, H2s being the most popular of these big trucks].

And that's called what..........? 211352[/snapback] liking sporty cars and not heavy trucks

hmmm....if you have a mortgage you must have a home, right? sell it would be my best advice to get started, if that's what you have the mortgage for. I don't know enough about your situation to offer educated advice. As a salesman, you're probably making good money. The question is can you see yourself doing it for long. I'm sure the answer already exists in the purpose of this thread, so the question is can you see yourself doing something you don't like, maybe not even selling cars, for the rest of your life. I say give up now on a lot, so that you can have big triumphs later.

Saw the new Silverado and test drove it.

First, I was comparing the 30k Sierra interior to the 30k Honda interior. You've got the right Honda interior, but not the right GMC interior. This GMC interior is the upline upline interior. As evok stated, those that want a more premium interior can elect to buy that one. Second, this interior photographs well, especially with the navi, but has some quality issues in person and some of the materials are cheesy. GTO interior is one of the few I've ever been completely happy with; it just feels better build than NAGM itneriors and doesn't sacrifice cost for cheesy looking alluminum trim, like the 900s do. I agree with captainbooyah that there is a minimal difference, there is, however, a tangible difference [in the most expensive versions, the lower line Sierra interior is the one I was referenceing above]. -
I love it. there are details that could finish the look more. The front end is killer; the hot compact truck to own would be what is said about it, it would attract young people like no other truck in this market, and older audiences would also appreciate the in your face look. I love it.

the problem is we all feel Cadillac could have done the same thing they did with CTS to its other lines. DTS didn't follow in the theme of CTS, STS and SRX didn't follow in the line of CTS either. CTS was a breakthrough car, a completely different looking car that took no prisoners in its look. SRX and STS didn't improve on that formula, nor did they stick to it, they are both conservatively designed. Now you look at the luxury landscape and every new car coming out, including high end cars, are bold and distinctive. The more expensive cars also didn't offer enough to convince buyers they were worth the extra money. SRX interior was far behind others in its class, as years went on it only got further left behind. STS was the same way. That's why initially those did better than they are doing now [sRX sales pattern has been unpredictable but it had its peak in its second and third year on the market]. DTS is an anolomy in the lineup.

I don't want to turn this into politicizing, or an attack on any one group or party, though it is clear what party my outrage is against. I am not trying to attack the group, but moreso the leaders of it who are in office now. The ones who are, sadly, corrupting their party and leading this nation down ever more tenser halls. Why should we divide so much? Why can't we all just agree and meet in the middle, that's supposed to be the beauty of our government, is that we have two parties to check and balance each other for the benefit of the public. One party that favors more government involvement and one that favors less. But where did we go wrong that all we can do is turn something into, "You, Democrats think this way, and you Republican, are wrong because of this." Those in control don't want to lose control. That is why we are where we are. They don't care about what's best for America, they are fighting to stay in control. Never has it been more and more and f@#king more clear than this week, with all Republicans jumping on a misguided joke that was supposed to mean something, and clearly meant that, but everyone including the President denounced, in a stupid, I repeat, stupid fashion. The way the joke has been misinterpreted shows the Republicans believe themselves to have IQ lower than that of a 13 year older, because that's the age it takes to understand what Kerry was trying to say. I don't know what you all think of Kieth Olbermann. I'm not the kind of person that sits at home watching anyone of the "reporters/commentators" whatever you want to call them. Occasionally, I see them speaking and I can agree or disagree with what they say. O'reilly surprised me the other day because I actually agreed with him on something he said, but I've never cared to watch him so it's not like that's a rarity or anything. Anyways, I just got to the gym when Olbermann was giving his consensus on the Bush reply to Kerry's comment. If you have the time to read it, that would be great, and then comment constructively. Please do not turn this into little comments that absolutely add nothing. Let's not turn this into one side versus the other [though I suspect opinions have changed a lot since the last election]. It's no longer responsible to continue to be divisive. It is no longer responsible to throw mud in each other's face. Here are some links and quotes from what he had to say. EDIT: I've just read through the first article and realized it mirrors my thinking pretty much identically. I didn't read the article, I caught the middle of the speech where he starts talking about the misinterpretation of the Kerry quote on TV. I just wanted to say my opinions were based on little knowledge of what's going on in the political world but some experience with how it does affect the country, and it wasn't based on Olbermann's thinking alone. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/15519404/ http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/15392701/ P.S. This guy is heavily opinionated and not for the faint of heart. He is pissed and it is clear. The second article is about a commercial that's just been released; another example of people in power who lack principle. They want to attack based on people's naivete and innocence and ignorance, they are instilling fear and taking advantage of decent people. I hate it.

What's wrong with this article? Some of you guys expect something extraordinary all the time. The mullet comparison is actually funny if you read the article, it was not in reference to the type of people that buy this car. They've also probably written this about three months ago, when they were having a more socially conscious moment. They could acknowledge how ridiculous the 16 mpg 400 hp luxury sedans are, but they probably won't since they actually like those kinds of cars.
-
So Impala seems to be doing well. I wonder what the fleet rate of sales for this car is this year; it's pretty far above the number it was at last year. Escalades did crazy good numbers, along with Tahoe and Suburban. Everything else seems pretty flat.

With Saturn being a brand with little to no presence in any market, it's understandable that unless we're talking about a completely radical design like the Sky, they are going to have trouble getting word of mouth going. The brand is small, dealers are not plentiful, customer base is not even like a Hyundai at this point.....customers are not used to having a Saturn on thier shopping list. Give it six months, Outlook and Aura will be out and they will both be creating buzz and letting everyone know Saturn is really a car brand that means something. It isn't just a joke. Cause that's what Saturn has been up until now, to many.

Aura is more stylish and distinctive inside and out, also more modern. The engine, ride and overall handling also are more than enough to push me in the direction of Aura.
