  1. Well that lows, having to remove the door panel to remove the mirror. Ah but they're mounted to the door. I'm used to mirrors mounted in the corner of the greenhouse surround.
  2. Yeah I saw that deal on LHF today. Pretty sweet.
  3. That first gen Neon which I later found out had caught fire...
  4. A new car isn't in the cards for a while I think. However the next one will be a 2002+ 300M Special. If we get and `02 or newer we'll be able to audio controls which I really want. pre `02 LH cars didn't have that feature available, and modifying them to be able use audio controls is very difficult and not worth the effort. More importantly perhaps is that `01 and newer models had side airbags. I'd love to get Pro Am seats for it too, and I would swap out the fake carbon fiber from real walnut trim.
  5. I agree, more exclusive, breaking news would be very helpful. Getting that content is the tricky bit. We do have RSS Feeds to the major news sites, so as soon as news breaks there we post them in their respected forums. 98 has also been doing a stellar job since he came back. We have plenty of work to do but I think we can do it, it just takes time, just like it will take GM time to recover.
  6. It's not like it's some unheard of concept. The BMW makes a coupe, convertibles, sedan, and wagon version of the 3-Series, so I see no reason why Cadillac can't do it, and so I'm glad they are. The CTS Wagon is great for people put off by the new SRX. Since the old SRX was basically a wagon anyway, it basically fills the same spot...only it's much more sexy.
  7. That is a really cool looking cabin.
  8. You're behind Camino, Z06, and myself.
  9. Saw a white Mustang convertible Numerous Fusions Several Camaros, including a black LT that was behind me for a bit.
  10. Oh yeah, I replaced the faulty seat memory switch so now I an actually use that feature.
  11. I haven't been following, but many airliners have had a list of major design issues that had to be corrected. The DC-10 comes to mind.
  12. LHF = LH Forums for future clarification. The 300M having the evaporator core replaced. Dealer charges around $1,000 and we can see why. We started at 10am and it wasn't finished until midnight.
  13. I haven't taken one apart on a LeSabre, but I would imagine there's a piece of plastic covering where the mirror is mounted on the inside of the door. You would take that off, either by pulling on them (if it uses brackets) or unscrewing it), then there should be 2-3 bolts you undo to take off the mirror. Like I said, I haven't done it before on a LeSabre, so I would just practice on one you don't want at the yard.

  15. Spent the weekend in North Brookfield attending my first meet and modfest. I can honestly say I haven't had so much fun in a long time. Great food, great people, great cars, and lots of laughs. I posted what was done to my car in it's own thread. I thought I'd share some from the rest of the meet with everyone who enjoys working on cars.
  16. Might be easier just to go to a yard and get a whole mirror (unless its body color). Otherwise I don't know how to get just the mirror off.
  17. So this past weekend I got a few things done at the Meet. My car is now smart enough to tell what direction it's going in. It now has the OTIC and an auto dimming mirror, and I finally took that dealer sticker off of the trunk.
  18. From what I've seen as far as members leaving and then coming back. Most of the state that they either left for personal reasons, or from the negativity surrounding both GM and the fights and hostility that would go on between some members. If you just join a site and see someone ripping apart other people for seemingly harmless things, would that make you want to stay? I think most of the fighting has calmed down, which is a good step. Another key step is to get exclusive news more often. Thanks to Ted's sharp eye, we did manage to get some. We just need more of this sort of breaking news. How we get it, is a good question. FWIW evok does still come and post from time to time. As far as C&G goes, I what has always drawn me to this site is both the community and that interesting discussions go on. It's not all one-sided discussions and arguements, which is rare for any automotive fan site. We have a long road ahead of us to bring the site up, but I think we've also made a lot of good first steps, and we have a dedicated leader. It just takes time, just like it will take time for GM to recover.
  19. I'm still not sure whether I like it or not. I will say that that the lines and cues of the Essence didn't translate as well onto them M as the designers would have liked.
  20. Van DeKamps Makes excellent fish sticks.
