  1. I came across this the other day and knew it had to become my desktop.
  2. Sadly things have gone from bad to worse. We took it out tonight to do some late night food shopping (we like it quiet and it's cooler out oo). WQe got about halfway to the store when the car died while cruising down the road. Pulled off, and tried to start it. However, for teh first time, it refused to start. We had to wait about a minute before it finally started. We went into a parking lot to turn around and it stalled again, and then a third time...each time not wanting to restart right away. So after spending $90 to have the Oil Sending Unit replaced, it's actually worse now than it was before. I think I'm going to take it to a dealer this week or next (need to get my paycheck first) and have them look at it VS the independent mechanic. Maybe they can find the cause....I want to be able to drive my car without having to worry about stalling dammit. A couple bright spots: the oil burned off so the smell is gone, and now that it's summer my dad can hopefully help me do some of the mechanical work it needs (timing chains/tensioners/water pump and compressor) after he gets back from vacation. That should save a good chunk of change.
  3. It's currently 81 outside...bleh. I like it to be cool inside, regardless of humidity.
  4. I like it to be no higher than 72 in the house, but prefer 68-70
  5. Totally agree.
  6. A/C FTW! I miss central air, but hey the A/C units work too and the one in our room is on full blast...but then it's been on since like April...I like it cool. No joke...when it's -5 outside I still have the window cracked with the fan on. I hate heat, but humidity + heat is another level of suck altogether. Thank goodness the cars have working A/C (well besides mine of course, but I don't drive it that much lately anyway, so whatever...although I drove it today before it got hot). My idea days are upper 60's to low 70's with a slight breeze and no humidity.
  7. Well said, I enjoy their postings and their different perspectives.
  8. Well now that we can compare, the new front end does look a lot better...I just hate that vent.
  9. the things is that Porsche has built up it's cars for many years, and fine tuned them. Plus they handle very well. The XLR, as I recall, does not.
  10. Nissan gets it.
  11. Wait for the diesel.
  12. Update: Jessica took it to the shop to have the oil sending unit replaced. She got it back and was driving it to my brother's graduation. It apparently lurched violently but didn't stall while she was driving. She's asleep so I forget the exact description. There's also the smell of burning oil now she said, and it ended up stalling anyway. I took it for a drive tonight and I was only able to replicate the oil smell, the rest didn't happen so I can't describe it first hand. It's gonna have to go back tomorrow...they must have done something wrong for oil to be burning like that. As for the other problems...I dunno.
  13. Lame. The front looks nice but all that work was for nothing because they ruined the car with that stupid vent. I hope the interior got a redo.
  14. I'm waiting for the inevitable "I'm too stupid to know how to use more than 4 buttons so this has too many, and it's omfg so cluttered, bitch, bitch, etc.)
  15. I haven't calculated my first week's commute yet but I believe I'm getting 38-41 mpg.
  16. The Vue's interior is very nice, but you can't assume it's better than a preproduction interior you haven't st in yet.
  17. I always found the current Legacy STi and Outback wagon to be the best looking Subarus. If Subaru has any common sense they will offer their version with AWD that's bias RWD standard . If it's optional it still defeats the brand's long time claim of having AWD standard on every model.
  18. Uh dude, what have you been smoking? Your crazy plan is merely psychological. It may cost less to fill up the Yaris tank but your MPG will still be the same and you'll have to fill up more often. z28luvr01's idea however, is brilliant.
  19. Here's a thought: cut the exec's pay, most of them don't deserve anywhere near the amount they get (I'm talking to you Wagner). That should free up a few million easily. While the unions can be a paid in the ass, they money they get is nothing compared to the overpaid higher-ups. Can you blame them for fighting tooth an nail to prevent pay and benefits cuts when Ricky is making something to the tune of 15 million annually? If I remember right, Wantabe makes like 3-5 million...and Toyota makes far more money and is in far better shape.
  20. Exactly, the problem is that people just don't pay attention and assume everything looks the same instead of spending more than 2 seconds looking at the photo.
  21. That "plasticy" look is due to the lighting and the flash from the camera. If you notice all spy photographs of interiors appear that way.
