No...not me. Though, if I could retire now...I would. I have a LOT I'd LOVE to be doing...he heh. But, no...this is about retiring a daily driver ... specifically an older daily driver. I got to thinking about this as I washed/waxed my '87 MC LS today, a far cry from what I was doing LAST Saturday: http://www.cheersandgears.com/forums/index...showtopic=24912 At least tomorrow I'll be driving my older 4 MCs.... Yes, I'm looking for a winter beater right now...but, I'm wondering if I should retire the '87 MC LS from daily status altogether. I don't really want to....but, well, maybe it'd be better. So...for those driving older cars (older than 1995, including 1970-1988 MCs)... Why keep daily driving your car? Have you thought about getting something newer? If so...why? If not...why not? And...for those that have retired an older car (1995 and older, including 1970-1988 MCs) and bought something newer... What led you to that decision? What was the major factor? I'm not going on a "major" road trip this year, since I'm using vacation time to attend a few different weekend gatherings/shows/cruises that I've previously mentioned; I hope to return to a week or 2-week long road trip in 2009, like these previous ones... Preliminary count ... over 60 (that's right, 60) people gathered in Elgin IL, Saturday, July 26, 2008. Not everyone was there at once, but the bulk of the crowd was between noon and 4pm local time. Ed and Derek A (both from several MC-related groups/boards) took a BUNCH of pictures. Once they are ready, I will post a link for ALL to ENJOY...along with official count/results and some notes. Ah....I guess I missed the series finale, then...or I had just forgotten what happened...lol. And, thanks. It should be uneventful, I'm told it is road worthy. I believe it is the 305, but I'll have to double check. Indeed, it will be a nice experience...and it has a few things different than my current '79 MC...along with the color, of course .
