  1. *nods* Thank you! He he ... most people can't believe it is daily driven, as good as it looks! My bias for Monte Carlos aside, of course, I love the checkerboard rims. To me ... they make the car look a bit sporty, but still have the "classiness" of the Monte Carlo. *shrugs* Or something like that ... . Makes owning multiple cars that much more enjoyable, no?
  2. See...these are the kinda quotes I like. On the surface, it sounds pretty interesting ... but ... the more you look at it and THINK about it, the more weird/off it becomes. Which is cool in a way, because that means you've thought and (perhaps) re-evaluated a few things in the process. *shrugs* Cort:34swm."Mr Monte Carlo.Mr Road Trip".pig valve&pacemaker WRMNshowcase.legos.HO.models.MCs.RTs.CHD = http://www.chevyasylum.com/cort "A smile can hide all the pain" ... 3. Chris, I know how you feel. I have a few friends recently who picked up a couple different older MCs ... for much less than they are worth ... mainly because the previous owner didn't know what they had. One of these days, I'll find one of those type of deals...I hope . 13. Indeedy, I do! My '87 MC LS (as did my former '88 MC LS) has 'em: http://www.chevyasylum.com/cort/mc1987/87MC1007_12_JPG.html I sure do love the look ... looks custom (to some, anyway), yet 100% stock! And, as far as I know, the entire 4th gen had them available, '81-'88....
  14. LOL, XP! I will get to NE ... maybe not this year, but SOON.... You could always come and join us for this . A QUICK update!!! News I forgot to add in the last post... ...Steak'n'Shake's main manager told me that the manager in charge the day of our event will have a section set off for us. ...Steak'n'Shake MAY have some COUPONS to give away for use the day of this gathering or later, whichever you choose. ...In case you don't see me by my '87 MC LS (or my other MCs, if they are there), I plan to wear my black T-shirt with the "Monte Carlo" script on it in white, similar to the mudflap on my '76 MC: http://www.chevyasylum.com/cort/mc1976/76MC1007_10_JPG.html Highlights... ...My _CELL_ # was noted in the previous post ... make sure you grab it if you are coming so you can call me if needed.... ...NOW is the time to say whether or not you are coming for sure.... PLEASE advise ASAP! ...I know many people are looking forward to this...as am I. I hope most of you listed ARE able to come...and that more people considering JOINING US. This SHOULD prove to be a fun time and an excellent way to meet people, especially in the Chicagoland area....

  18. Aaaahhhh....that fresh, newly-washed look is so intoxicating...isn't it? I finally washed my older 4 Monte Carlos this past Saturday [the '87 MC LS daily driver will get its second cleaning of the year this coming weekend, weather permitting, of course]...partly to have them ready for the July 26 gathering here, in case it IS sunny...but mostly to get the "winter dust" off them. Now, they all just look and "feel" so much better! Sure makes a difference when they are clean; driving them after a fresh wash is a bit invigorating, imho. Hmmm...does anyone else who has multiple cars notice that each car as its own "personality"? It just seems that each of my MCs have a distinct feel and "attitude"...not just because each are a different generation/body style, either. I find myself with a slightly different personality, too, depending on which MC I'm driving...he heh. And...it looks like I'll be heading to Arkansas the weekend of August 2 to pick up my new-to-me '79 MC...!!! 21. Capriceman ... I like your radio solution. I may have to do that myself . No...the '76 doesn't ping at all. And, the choke has been adjusted...multiple times...lol. I'll check the other again, too, though I know that has been done.... Ya never know, though .

  23. *nods* Yep...I sure do. I did run a title search through the IL Sec of State's office for my parents' former '76 MC back in the mid-1990s. It had 2 owners after Mom and Dad (the original owners) traded it in ... and the second ended up junking it ... a few weeks before I started the title search...arg! Even so, I wonder, sometimes, what happened to my former '88 MC LS...as well as a few other cars my parents owned. I don't care what happened to my 2 new cars, which are both LONG gone. 25. LOL! I WISH it were a case of me needing to stop listening for the exhaust . But, no, the '76 always seems to "drag" a little bit upon cold starts. It's fine once it gets warmed up...but, it tends to bog and, sometimes, will hesitate/stall as I drive it out of the garage. And, yep, it has been tuned up....
