  1. Nothing wrong with the rod bearings? How do the top of the pistons look? How about the condition of the spark plugs? There has to be SOMETHING wrong. The cause of the knock in the Camaro was a rod bearing which, in turn, ground down the connecting rod and crank, setting the crank imbalanced and causing a few other bearings to wear a little more than they should at only 55,000 miles.
  2. Well, Josh, I bid thee a warm farewell on the site. I try to keep civility between myself and most others on the site, but I saw many a time conflicts between people on the site (by "people," I mean yourself, Croc, and others). Most of these conflicts are unhealthy to the site, but many members don't even realize what's happening. I just wish that you, Croc, and others could resolve the problems that you guys have/had with other members and all could be good. It doesn't take much, just a simple, "What have I done wrong?," or, "I'm sorry for doing [insert action here], but I hope you forgive me because [insert excuse here]," or even, "I wish we could just see each other eye-to-eye because obviously you and I disagree on [insert assertion here], but it's not necessary to argue over something so stupid." We're all car enthusiasts here, and if we weren't, one probably wouldn't find any of us sitting here on a pro-GM website/forum. So, this is to everybody when I say this, respect is the main ingredient. If one cannot share his/her views on a certain topic without being fair enough to accept, or at least civilly question, someone else's views, they don't belong here. In the end, we all just have to respect each other; this site's about cars anyway, not arguments that could've been resolved over animal crackers and chocolate milk in kindergarten.
  3. Wheels have numbers?
  4. As long as you have one and don't throw one...
  5. http://autos.yahoo.com/newcars/future_cars...fr=FP-tab-img-t Interesting to see they already have the Challenger and Camaro marked for production. The TT looks pretty good in that picture.. is that the real thing or just a rendering?
  6. haha And that's a wrap. Even my parents want a Camaro. My mom loves how it looks. My dad likes it, but always says he's getting a GTO. Well, today I was telling him about the possible 300 HP V6 and possible 425 HP V8 going into it, and he commented on the 425 HP version by saying, "That's the one I'm getting." I told him he was crazy... it'll be mine first.
  7. Two things... a black SRT-8 Charger on a truck (with a bunch of 300s and Chargers) and a real rarity.. a VW Phaeton.
  8. He even did, too. The turban on his head just muffled the sound.
  9. To my understanding, it "keeps the heat in" instead of heating up your engine bay and firewall even hotter than it already does.
  10. What does it matter if it sells? You don't have to buy it!
  11. I found it off a 2006 Monte Carlo. I don't think they have the VVT working yet, do they?
  12. Yeahh, boy! Score one for GM and Chevy! :smilewide:
  13. lmao Cap'n Cronic. That was pretty funny (the sig you had)
  14. Well, if the 3.9L currently gets 21/31 MPG and you add AFM or VVT, you'll get a bit better than only 1 extra MPG highway or else GM wouldn't have wasted their time developing the VVT on this engine. I know you said tuning, but with the right tune, one won't lose much MPG, if any.Oh, and if the 400+ HP V8 going into the Camaro gets 30+ MPG highway, I'm sure the V6 will get a bit better mileage or else it's pointless to buy the V6 other than because of insurance..
  15. Honda Element. Like a Rock.
  16. Psst.. the 7.0L LS7 shouldn't be around too much longer with stronger, more (or just as) powerful engines coming out.

    WOW

It's okay. Just don't let it happen again. haha, Just kidding. Hope you enjoy your stay!
  18. I always have Dairy Queen ice cream cakes.. and they have a bread-like filling thing in there along with other stuff besides ice cream. Definitely a cake. A gorgeous one at that.

    WOW

Repost, but it's pretty cool, given I'm obsessed with the Camaro Concept.
  20. Corvette will always have its own exclusivity and level of refinement above and beyond any other Chevy. This won't be the first time Corvette's been in a HP "race" with the Camaro, however. They've shared the same engines and performance numbers many a time, but the Corvette will always have the slightly better suspension to put those numbers down, along with a little less weight with two less seats. Oh, and like somebody else said, the Blue Devil or Corvette SS will always be a step above the Camaro in HP.
  21. Give up on the reef?
  22. Okay, so here's what I'm saying... For the base model V6: 3.6L DOHC with VVT & DI Why? It's perfect. It'll be production-ready by 2008, it'll make enough power to annihilate Ford's most potent V6 up to date (3.6L @ 265 HP/250 TQ), and will offer good enough MPG/emissions to make even Honda buyers go American. For the smaller V8: I don't really know. I'd like to think a more up-to-date 5.3L than the current one with a bit more power, but I really have no idea. Ideas from you guys? For the larger V8: 6.2L LS3 with VVT/AFM I'd definitely say a 6.2-6.3L LS3 (whatever amount of liters it will be) making around 425-450 HP is very possible. Especially with how great of fuel economy (est. 30+ MPG) is expected for that much power out of that particular engine. For an exclusive, low-production V8: Supercharged and Intercooled LS3 This would be like a ZL1 Camaro in a very low production number and wouldn't need great MPG, but it will still have pretty good MPG even with the blower on there. I'd estimate this being around 500-550 HP depending on the power the NA LS3 puts out.
  23. So, this sounds about perfect for the Camaro...
  24. taillights
  25. Yeah, she's got a pretty face... http://catherinebell.celebscentral.net/ima...rinebell_52.jpg
