Me too- that's why I've owned 7 in early-mid 60s.

S-class was down 16% YtY, and that only with the winter sales incentives kicking Dec into overdrive. I believe it was down 24% YtY in November. Oh, and

CT6 handily outsold the BMW 7-series thru Nov 2017 (9701 vs. 8169). Pretty decent for a car I predicted would average 500/mnth. I've got to drive one of these somehow...

I almost can't listen to mainstream mass-market stuff anymore, unless it's metal. Either I'm totally exhausted by it or it gets stuck in my head and I need to 'burn' it out. Most of my browser music bookmarks are ambient genre. Also helps when I'm writing/researching. No offense, O442, but I durn't dare click on most of your video links.

Audi News: Audi To Make Future Models Look Different
balthazar replied to William Maley's topic in Audi
MB in recent years has had differentiation due to multiple design 'languages' ongoing at once. But in the last few, once they started putting the CLA design on all other lines (coupes), it's homogenized. MB wanders around a decent amount. Where the criticism can rightfully be placed is over at BMW. Audi doesn't change much, but they don't sell much in the US and half their line no one buys at all, so it seems to work OK here. But IMO model consolidation is in order, not struggling to make differences for differences sake. -
Butt-ugly car, but bet that I-8 was incredibly smooth.

Still this stuff, which "isn't even music". Love it. I'm 'way out there', aren't I?

Feel better Dave! So I posted a pic of this car from eBay earlier: Seller had it advertised as an Eldorado, which is isn't. I contacted him pointing this out, he mumbled back he was told that's how many were made (quoted Eldorado production number in auction) and that the values of the 'E' and Series 62 were only $10K apart (way off there). So I'm watching the auction anyway. Starts at $15K, no reserve, gets bid to $20,910. Auction ends. Terms are $500 deposit required within 48 hours. Within 2 hours, the car is relisted with exact same description with 1 additional line: "Relisted with buy it now due to non payer". I guess the winning bidder backed out immediately at the end of the auction. Weird. - - - - - 2nd auction was ended- seller updated description saying he would take $18K. There are beautiful examples of this year/model for sale asking in the $55K range- could not restore this car to that condition with a buy-in of $18K andbreak even.

How about a F-150? LOWERED

HA! That's what they said about manual crank wipers and the manual crank start— nevermind.

So Drew; according to my note, I had 61 posts on 11.27.02. When should I expect my 15 year pin in the mail?

'54 Eldorado, parked since 1965. On eBay- has 1 bid so far @ $15K. Was chatting with a few folk who didn't think it was worth restoring/wouldn't pay over $10K. In looking these up, they're worth $85K in #3 and $175K in #1. One on Hemmings now is asking $185K. EDIT :: Because I value the facts above all else- I must amend my above text. The car is a Series 62 convert, not an Eldorado. Apparently I got overzealous/hopeful- it doesn't have the Eldorado ribbed aluminum quarters (which I thought were merely removed) nor an 'Eldorado' script on the deck )has a crest instead). The auction calls it an Eldo and lists the correct Eldo production total, but it's mis-represented. '54s are the least differentiated from the other lines than any other year of '50s Eldos.

What have we done? 2016 Malibu 1LT 1.5t
balthazar replied to regfootball's topic in Member's Rides Showcase
Exactly. Japanese imports pushed FWD first, and it took decades for a mass switch toward FWD vs. RWD- it wasn't traction in snow (which FWD doesn't provide any better ability in). -

I'm surprised you don't find it equally tiring; it's been running over a decade vs. -say- the floating roof cue. -

Where it fits in the brochure is immaterial to my comments on its individual styling. To repeat: I don't think that large expanse of upward creeping black plastic is very upscale. For a long time I've had this mental association of this tired trend of high rise black plastic out back with one's pants worn below the buttocks.
