  1. I really had no clear image that the integra was either luxury OR sporty OR a 'driving thrill'. Plus, no other brand do I encounter that is driven so uniformly slowly, not even Buick. The impression of actual observed use is that they are boring appliances. You also lost me with this : >>"EVs of the future are gonna be autonomous so choosing the Volt is somehow choosing a future for autonomous vehicles."<< Where did that come from?
  2. So is an unripe banana.
  3. S-class is stodgy & dated; a car for old folks. Daimler could probably gain 25% more China sales if they did a clean sheet car. CLS was at least fresh when it came out. But MB has hit a brick wall with their design language- which is why the CLS has the same body for 3 generations. Tons of catalog overlap, and now they're all getting the same CLA-derived nose.
  4. Nope.
  5. I've seen golf carts with better bodies (NO; that's not a comment on the EV propulsion). WCC are complete hacks, and if that's the end result, it's embarassingly gruesome.
  6. Like General Motors did with the 4-71, 6-71 and 8-71 series of engines. Eventually, Mercedes comes around to ways & means used before at GM!
  7. Mercedes- going backwards when the whole rest of the world has gone to V6s.
  8. "Matte Silver" : lol It's dark grey primer. Blorf. And apparently MB is going to put the CLA nose on EVERYTHING.
  9. Specs as scaled from drawing: height : 50", wheelbase : 135", overall length : 248" I drew this when I was about 22 as a quickie sketch update of an earlier version.
  10. Me mum has a '12 Cruze, and I believe they've had zero issues with it... but it only has 22K miles on it. Just moved it around at my house on T-giving and it's still like new.
  11. BUT IT'S AN EV!! EV's rule!
  12. "Grand Prix nose"- please; that's a Toronado! Or maybe a Plywoodanado? https://barnfinds.com/homegrown-citicar-1974-sebring-vanguard/
  13. Has there ever been a study comparing normal human respiration with CO2 expelled while talking? If the latter expels notably more, perhaps a daily texting/ tweeting/ typing quota before speech is allowed. That would cut down greenhouse gases.
  14. Roadster 2.0 is a 1-off concept car. I'm not sure of the value of using it's claimed figures...
  15. • If profit were tied only to volume, Tesla is DOOMED. Remember- early on Tesla bragged the company would be profitable at 300 cars annually. • Airborne passenger drones?? And you think it's hard to convince consumers to buy EVs?? Wait- you were saying EVs would replace ICEs in 10 years, now drones are going to kill off EVs AND ICEs in 10 years? Convolution honed to a razor sharpness. • SolarCity is under Tesla now- the CORPORATION as a whole makes no money. That includes SolarCity (I didn't look up the others tho).
  16. Tesla cannot be sold for it's assets & stock valuation- the company isn't worth 100 cents/dollar. I doubt it's worth 50/100. It doesn't make any money, never has. Negative equity can never be sold at face value. Just the mere fact that if another company bought the stock speculator's darling, the valuation would drop significantly & immediately. GM made nearly 10 billion profit last year- it's not going anywhere. Volume & health-wise - Tesla is Sears with empty shelves & GM is Amazon.
  17. I didn't realize this, and it's yet another little detail that raises a flag. "You can order a Model 3 online at the base price" but the reality is the above. What company makes a car available in (July) but 5 months later (half a model year) is only just selling to the general public? Don't forget- as the Model 3 ramp up drags on & on, the $7500 credit that enticed so many to order is continually nibbled away by the S & X (Company is @ 147K US sales thru Oct '17). Then the "$28K" Model 3 is a $42K car. Ouch.
  18. Those that put down a reservation deposit are taken in chronological order. If all that is available is $42-49K vehicles, I assume one has the 'right' of refusal. Not sure if you are re-ordered, or how Musk has it set up. But the ("temporary") elimination of the base car is a red flag. Orders made now won't see their car built until 2020 or 2021... or later at this rate. Volume production could have turned the Tesla books around, but it may never happen. BTW- I just saw a video of the semi reveal. I'd never heard Musk speak before, he is an awful orator.
