  1. BMW really seems to have no stylistic direction; the just twiddle around with minor lines & shapes and call it done. It's tired already...
  2. Bonneville Model G...... for 'geers'.
  3. As of 3 months ago, there were only 20 recharging stations in the state of NJ, and the Leaf isn't available here (explains why I've yet to see one). It will take a number of years to get even a fledgling electric support system in place. If an electric works for your transportation/recharging needs, go for it. BTW, as a contractor, I find it amusing to think of people going to HD, being able to recharge their electric, but being unable to bring home much of anything in such small cars. I watched a guy trying to stuff a 4'x8' piece of pegboard in a RAV4 recently... there was no way. I know, I know; some folk just buy a pack of light bulbs or a petunia...
  4. ^ Must have the AWD option.
  5. '73-74 Plymouth Road Runner, sitting in the weeds in a side yard
  6. "beyond patheticly sloppy & irresponsible" = Big Gov't, to a T.
  7. I'm with ocn- get the mechanicals up to snuff & roll. The $3500 current bid is a very solid market price, I don't see it bidding beyond $4500.

  9. both my sons absolutely hate the mini cooper, and the one who's seen a pic of the fiat hates it, too. Called it 'ugly' right off. No; they got no influence from me, either.
  10. Top speed of a 7.0L Fleetwood was around 125 MPH, and this was engine/gearing limited, not chassis.
  11. Growing up the son of a gearhead, my son has not expressed much unsolicited reaction to cars, except the Mustang, Challenger & CTS-V coupe.
  12. Interesting point, but FAIL; he's a Republican!!
  13. #3 is Alco. Alco built road vehicles '05-13. One of their last cars , the '12 Berliner, sold for $7250 new. So... Who is #2??
  14. ^ re-read his post. Origin wasn't the point.
  15. few things in automotive history are as recent as one would think
  16. And how many times have you bragged on the massive v12 put in a handful of MBs??
  17. I, for one, am not at all against electric cars. More choice is (usually) always better (I'd like to see steam, too). My statement wasn't against the cars (which was perfectly clear in my post), but against taxpayer money going into poorly vetted business cases.
  18. BigGov't sure can't seem to call many of these 'green energy' investments right.
  19. A dated, blatant 'rebadge' (most people's definition) is never going to make money at these levels. Meanwhile, Rolls strikes a unique and long shadow...
  20. I don't even kno which ferrari that is, but that's a circa 1995?? I kno ferrari doesn't advance their designs much, but... Still, sub a 599 in there- same approach, same critiques from me. The countach/diablo design was ancient in terms of years; it debuted in 1970.
  21. Ferrari here is -in comparison- quite dated & pedestrian. Greenhouse & body are separate, ferrari falls prey to one of the cardinal sins of timeless design; using panel seams as styling elements. Front bumper has a prominent, unavoidable horizontal seam, lambo's is completely integrated/ doesn't have a 'bumper'. Ferrari has -gasp!- rocker cladding. These two are in completely different arenas...
