  1. Just asked my son (17), he mulled it over & said 'phone'. 'I can always get a ride'...
  2. Anyone up for a 455 STG1 gasser here?
  3. Lemmee get this straight; if the platform gets used for 5 years, it's "old", but if it's dumped after a dozen years (CTS), it's "too soon".
  4. Talk about piling on the stupid.... but the current BMW crowd primarily buys for the badge and little else, so it'll probably sell despite itself.
  5. Problem here (and I'm not up on the market on these), is that like 90% were garaged as future collectibles. 670 miles is fantastic, but '76 E convert must have the lowest average mileage by year/ make/ model of ANY production car 25-50 yrs old. >>"Cheers, this is perhaps the last time Cadillac was Cadillac."<< Mission statements can & do change- the CTS is very much the (new) Cadillac.
  6. I wonder if the GM card allowance will rise on the Cruze this spring... Pa was not overly happy his $4000 GM Card money couldn't all be put towards the Cruze. The dealer we got the wife's 'bu from is pretty good- will have to see what they're asking. Will look into the suggestions above- thanks.
  7. Mum is looking at a new Cruze, and Pop is wondering if there is a way to look up a stock # and tell what dealer cost is. Anyone have any info on this? Deal on the table is $1500 from GM Card, $500 for previous GM owner, $470 for loyalty (I may have switched up those last two). Not bad, but could it be better (of course, he'll cross-shop dealerships)?
  8. I'm going over to Monroe Sat to mess with some plow equipment- you want me to put a deposit on it for you?
  9. Well, seems to me most people think of Ghia as a body designer, but WRT American/Ghia partnerships, the designs were mostly American and Ghia just executed them.
  10. right colors & powertrain, that's fer sure. Plus the NACA hood.
  11. which 'premium' small car was this, again?
  12. Wow- I JUST got off the phone with my buddy, telling me about this faded black GTO down the street from him for sale, via talking I figured out it was a '73, and this is the very same actual car. Too new for me, tho.
  13. If the hand brake on the floor is indicative of the level of ergonomics, Lambo should quietly buy these all back and crush them out of sheer embarrassment.
  14. Wonder if the next c-class will go on a stretched version of this platform?
  15. lm 2002 = 'luxury palace on wheels" ??? It was bad for the mid-'80s when it came out.
  16. What's coming off as 'sporty' to you in the ferrari pic? • • • I didn't like the Viper interior posted above, either. That large flat panel looks like something out of a cube van. • • • My issue is, the ferrari 599 is $410,000, yet it's interior design (materials aside) looks like it's more like $50K. THIS looks more like $400K IMO, can I get something expressive & unique for all that coin??: The irony in my example, of course, is that interior is in a car that costs $1000K.... Maybe my entire scale is just... OFF.
  17. ^ That's better than some others, but 'something to shoot for'? -No. An exotic sports car should be a lot more purposeful, clean & flowing; the above could be in a 4-dr sedan and has little cohesive design going on there. And the vents (even if they echo the awkward tails) need to go. For the price, it's sorely lacking IMO.
  18. hopefully it can be a much better interior than a lot of the ferraris.
  19. Designed by Chrysler (Exner), constructed by Ghia.
  20. Some sort of black ferrari with hideous FWD overhang, motoring down U.S. 1.
  21. Also a Buick LeSabre trim level. Also a Rambler concept car.
  22. ^ That era mercedees gave us monstrous, cheap, grey cladding... cheesy; good riddance. My grandfather had this era 98 Regency Brougham, so I know this car well. His was a pretty nice chocolatey vinyl top over a copper-ish body, but beyond that it really did nothing for me. Super-Overstuff option in full force. 307 in his was breathless at 30 MPH (I drove it). Car is super clean, but I'm just not an Olds guy. No vote.
