  1. Pursuing a couple engines rebuilder options. Guy #2 has a year backlog and is priced significantly higher than I hoped to go. Guy #1 states he should be able to take it in about 4 months. This is the same builder who's working on my brother's 1100 hp Pontiac motor. I'm going to work on other sub-systems in the meantime, while also working on more engine pieces as far as disassembly/cleaning/painting.
  2. EQS is heavily dated, it's the offspring of a '99 Chrysler 300 and a fat slug.
  3. Correct- when you order a vehicle, there is NO VIN. In fact there is no order number at that time- order number comes when GM accepts the order and logs it in. We all know the 'commerce chaos' of 2020-2021. VIN comes when the truck is scheduled for imminent production. Do I have a 'pre-sales' contract? Is that binding? I can say this; my truck 'as advertised' is not showing any 'market adjustment', and I have not seen that happen with full-size GM trucks. The advertised truck shows the same MSRP as the sales guy re-confirmed with me Monday. I don't expect a 'bad turn' will happen.
  4. Jeez, I suppose that's possible, I've heard of that happening... tho I don't believe my dealer is anywhere near that cutthroat. They are very highly rated... but that would absolutely SUCK. Great, now I have to worry about that...
  5. ^ That very pic is buried somewhere else in this thread.
  6. No pics (other than OEM); it’s still in transit. RE ordering; that’s true... except custom orders for ‘21 are closed already (they are for the mid-size pickups). OEM :
  7. Sounds really weird, but I understand why; my dealer now has my actual, specifc truck advertised on their website, and the ‘start buying process’ button is still there/ active.
  8. Looks like major league fun :
  9. They're both full-on 'meh'. Add to that tho- the Honda is a concept, so brace yourself for the dumbing down.
  10. Tho there was a consolette for the Toro, I believe they were all column-shift. Pics of cars with consoles seem to pnly show that configuration. ‘Horseshoe’ shifter was found in the Riviera in this era.
  11. IC is more powerful on average now than ever - what's this wishful thinking?
  12. Daimler never builds any of their concept cars. But yes; it's especially dumpy. Serious question : what, in your opinion, of the last 20 years, has been 'earth shattering'? - - - - - - I'm impressed on 2 dimensions of the Lyriq: wheelbase is way up there at 122" (1 inch short of my B-59 and an inch longer than an Escalade), and the width at nearly 78". It has no overhangs tho, so the 197" OL is relatively short.
  13. Or... they can be h-powered. (human).
  14. 'Hauling ass' counts, you know. - - - - - ^ it is a bizarre look...
  15. Doing this makes me giggle.
  16. Silverado has 2 tiers; the Custom & the LT. You can get a regular cab/8-ft bed in the Custom series; my GMC dealer has a Sierra in that configuration on the floor. ^ The Studebaker above is a '49-53.
  17. ^ It's a lovely design but this generation T-Birds are all but ignored by collectors.
  18. That's weird.
  19. Warrensburg NY ~
  20. UPDATE : order status now at 4150, vehicle is invoiced and has left the plant - it's at the transport company's holding lot. It made that trip on 4/11, so it was built sometime between 4/5 and 4/10. Supposed expected delivery at dealer is 5/13. God this is taking forever. On the flip, I read there are locator services willing to pay $3 grand over MSRP to buy new trucks, inventory demand is that crazy. ?
