One Year Review of my 2014 Chevy Impala LTZ 3.6L
Cmicasa the Great replied to Cmicasa the Great's topic in Chevrolet
First I guess its obvious that I love my Impala. The looks, amenities, and size make it a viable competitor to many cars priced almost double such as the RLX and even to a degree the XTS and LS460.. but the performance of the SS, along with its size, and interior amenities including fit and finish make it viable competitor to vehicles like the CTS-VS, 550, and S6. The only thing it lacks is the IN YO FACE styling of the Impala.. which pretty much makes it more like a less expensive 550 or A6. If it had the Impala's styling it would then rival the CTS-VS -

Follow up.. I decided that after a coupla attempts at making it up to the shop I just can't fit it into my schedule for a bit. We are busy as hell at the office and I will most likely now wait til Spring for the resonator clip. -

I have to disagree. The Impala really is a larger Malibu. They are almost identical in every way except price and size. $h!.. They should have just called one Malibu and the other Malibu-L combined the sales and been done with it. Either way I have been told that the SS and Impala may be merging in a few years anyway with the latter name being put on a RWD/AWD setup. Time will tell. Malibu cannot have Accord type sales if it has to share customers divided by 3 different cars. If a customer wants a large, mid-sized or coupe car at Honda (331K YTD).. They buy an Accord. If they want the same from Chevy they have a choice between the Impala or SS(large), Malibu (mid), Camaro (Coupe) (353K YTD) I didn't even include SS's almost 3K sales. Do my best. Change of Resonator will be tomorrow with before (just Flowmasters) and after (with Flowmasters and Resonator removed) Youtube video COOL, Look forward to the video so we can hear your awesome ride! Nice Hummer by the way! I love them! Some unexpected business came up and I had to move my appointment til tomorrow. The Hummer is my brothers. The House where the H2 is parked is his too. I only have the two houses where the Camaro is depicted and the other where my Stingray and CTS-V were depicted -

One Year Review of my 2014 Chevy Impala LTZ 3.6L

This should have been the Malibu. Yup I said it. IMO the actual Impala should have been the RWD SS, but with this styling. Yeah I would have probably made this car about 7 inches smaller (making it 194 inches long) and called it Malibu. The styling would exactly the same and the true difference would have been the size and wheels being driven. This would have given it the size of the Accord but with a slight bit more room. The actual Impala would have been the SS, killing the need for the Caprice as well, capable of pulling double duty as a law enforcement and consumer car. Basically what I'm getting at is that Chevy has two too many cars in the upper size category. -
I've been driving this magnificent "de-contented" XTS for 1 year and 3 months now after relinquishing an equally powered LLT 3.6L 2011 Camaro for a need of more room. This car is fantastic. In taking the XTS and Lacrosse and giving Chevy a version GM created essentially a Blue Collar worker who just won the Lottery. I mean that. The Drivability of this car is pretty fantastic. As mentioned before I came from a smaller, RWD coupe that handled damn nice and could seriously get up and go for a V6 weighing almost 3800lbs in the Camaro. That car was clocked in at about 5.6secs on a good day. Catch it in the right shift and U could take down V8 powered Chargers. No $h!. My Impala is fully loaded with everything except the 20 Inch wheels. I opted for the 245/45/19s. In fact this is the gist: Blue Ray Metallic Mojave/Black Accents 3.6L Comfort And Convenience Package Provides an extra measure of premium refinement , including: Ventilated driver and front passenger seats Heated steering wheel Power tilt and telescoping steering column Memory settings for the driver seat, outside mirrors and steering wheel Universal Home Remote Auto-dimming inside rearview mirror Outside heated power-adjustable mirrors with turn signal indicators, ground illumination and driver-side auto-dimming feature Premium carpeted front and rear floor mats Carpeted trunk mat power, tilt-sliding sunroof with additional skylight fixed glass and power sunshade. Chevrolet MyLink® Radio With Navigation, AM/FM Stereo And CD Heated and Cooled Seats Heated Steering Wheel Eff It... The only thing I didn't get was 20inch wheels, Bose® premium surround sound 11-speaker system and Adaptive Cruise I compared the XTS to the Impala directly and felt that they were different vehicles bottom line.. and one ride in either one will see what I'm saying. The Cadillac has a more sporty feel about it ironically. It handles better.. it even feels faster off the cuff.. The materials inside the cabin are evidently better.. and by that I mean the Impala has the material quality that my CTS has.. which was born in 2008 in reality (despite being a 2012).. while the XTS takes it to the next level. Essentially it is easy to see that GM spent good money on the Impala... and even more on the Cadillac.. which is obvious, and redundant for me to say. I have to say that the Impala comes off as more of a surprise to most people who see it. Examples are: "WOW.. that's the new Impala??? Damn!!! NOTHING like the last one.. NOTHING like it at" Its weird. A year later I'm still getting this and people in much more expensive cars constantly are in Ahhh of what Chevy/GM did with this vehicle. I had a chick in her 30s.. while I was at the grocery store getting ready to take stuff outta my cart and put in the trunk actually say to me; "Do U mind if I see if I can fit in that trunk???" I allowed her. She did. I got her phone number and we had drinks and stuff True Story. OK.. versus The XTS: "Nice.. very nice.. Of course.. tho.. Its a Cadillac. truly a beautiful vehicle." Vehicle noises. Would U believe that the Impala's engine note is more subdued than the XTS's. I $h! U not... The Impala is seemingly quieter at WOT. The Impala is supposedly faster (0-60 6.0 (Impala) vs 0-60 6.1 (XTS)but that's negligible. The XTS is technically heavier so I'll give it a pass. The truth is I think that now that the Impala is broken in it will crack the 5.7sec number. It may be even faster as of YESTERDAY (11/05/14) because I decided to take her up to the local garage and swop the mufflers I had on my Camaro RS 3.6L and put them on the Impala. Yes.. when I traded in my Camaro I made them take the flowmaster Super 44s off and put the OE ones back on as part of the deal. Yesterday I had some down time and decided to show up to the garage with Flowmasters in truck and have them do a swap. Sound: They gave it a throatier sound definitely.. but not loud like the Camaro was. WHY??? Well because on the Impala and many other GM products they put a Resonator on that acts as a primary muffler. This buffs out even more sound, but like the mufflers create more back pressure Power Increase: This is seat of the pants obviously, but there is noticeable.. and I mean noticeable pull with the Flow Masters on the car. Seriously. The sound is throatier and the set-up makes the car actually feel more like a V8. The pull actually reminds me of the pull my '05 Cadillac STS 4.6L had. That car was rated at 320HP and 315lbs of torque. That car was 200lbs heavier. The thing is that tomorrow I told them I'd be back up to get the Resonator taken off and replaced with a straight pipe. The sound should be more solid and the back pressure coming from the resonator will be gone. Fuel economy. I average about 23MPG combined with about 70% Stop and go in the City areas. On the road/highway I am hitting 28-32MPG regularly and keep in mind I'm a heavy foot. Fill Up around here is about $54 at the moment with gas at $2.89 and a 18.5 gallon tank. Edit.. I see an Encore in your vehicles section. I haven't tried it in the Encore. In my ex's Verano I had no issue hooking her Android up. She has a LG Viper 4GLTE and no issues. In my Yukon, Vette, and Impala I've had no issues either with going BT or USB. In the CTS-V I haven't tried anything other than the USB Flash or the HDD that's in the car

This is a great move.. and yes it will be more seamless. In the newer Mylink cars I am having literally no issue sending music via Bluetooth from my Galaxy. Spotify, Pandora, iHeart, Tune-In, etc work perfectly.

October 2014: General Motors Co.
Cmicasa the Great replied to William Maley's topic in 2014 Sales Archive
Again.. bumped your head. The Cruze is an excellent car. It had about 7000 sales to fleet, still giving it approx 17K retail sales which means that even if the Corolla and Civic sold NONE to fleet, which is BS.. it still managed to be #3. But hey.. who we kidding.. Fleet sales only matter when its GM.. so Cruze parks in at #2 behind the Corolla by only a few hundred units. Does your German lovin have any limits? 3/4series almost outsold all of Audi too... and they have double the amount of Caddy's line-up -

Cadillac numbers will continue to not impress until they get serious about CUVs and more variants. That is an ATS convertible by Spring along with the HI-PO versions of it. CTS the same, including a coupe. Don't kno if its already being prepped, but it needs to get here yesterday. -
I have to point out that the Chevy division is a full-line mainstream entity. Like other full-line mainstream entities, coupes have all but been eradicated . Honda has the Accord coupe.. Toyota the Tc and FRS, both which are utter dogs on the market and sell at about 1/3 combined of what the Camaro does monthly. Ford and Dodge are identical in this regard as Chevy. No one really has wagons in the U.S. mainstream, but the rest I will agree with in regards to Buick's line-up. The GMC example is spot on, but the Granite comment remains to be seen. I'm not completely sold on the Renegade, and it is still possible that it, like the Dart, will fail to connect with the buying public.

Great job GM despite the recalls, the extra charges, and without currency manipulation Asian style.. profits are starting to regain. With this kind of momentum I can see immediate coming quarters in the $3-4Billion range. This is where a completely competitive Cadillac/Buick/GMC will easily compliment the strides that Chevy, and a resurgent Opel are making. A strong Luxury/Premium/Mainstram group, utilizing a synergized production and platform share could put GM on proper footing with VW in profits First and foremost GM is not a $6.Billion a year corporation. If costs are down, they have a business model that is fully capable of $12Billion annually on the low and $16 Billion on the high. They do not yet have the 1,000,0000 sales of Cadillac that VW has with Audi, nor do they have the blatant Gov't manipulation of currency that the Asians, particularly Toyota, have. Thus I see it not possible for them to go any further. I will add that a fully robust Cadillac would insure extreme profits. Add to that a pipedream of mine for GMC to be sold as a global division in the light of Jeep or previous Hummer and U are looking at a unstoppable GM Projections laid out in recent (OCt 1) Strategic plan 1) cost savings from drop in platforms beginning with intro of new Cruze and drop of Zeta for better utilization of Alpha 2) , non-one time charges, and less recalls 3) Robust growth from GM Financial 4) Uptick in sales of premium vehicles from Buick, GMC, and Cadillac 5) Continued progress of profitability in Europe by 2016 6) progressive and aggressive point to 10% margin per unit sold by '16 (5-6 Quarters away) in NA and 9-10% in China 7)self funding Chinese operation by '16 GM break-even point is a SAAR of 10.5 Million. The projected SAAR for 2014 is 14.-15 million Public doesn't care about recalls. Thanks to various media outlets over playing it I truly believe that they inadvertently numbed people to the issues. Heck.. look at the Toyota ones. Toyota's rep is hardly tarnished to the sheepish public. I don't have to even mention that GM is putting out more award winning vehicles than anyone in the market these days. The various attributes they have are winning more buyers than anything else. In the past haters would have used the "Incentives" card. Its a hand that can't be played anymore as GM incentives versus ATPS are, monthly, the best or second best on the market. All of that with the fact that some did everything possible to try and make negative the new trucks when they debuted. Ignoring the big incentives placed on the F150 and Ram. Another great example of what I said above was the constant beating of the dead horse on Cadillac being down this year by a whopping (sarcasm) 4% after being up in 2013 a whopping 22%, and being the Fastest-Growing Full-Line Luxury Brand.

#1 American and Japanese branded cars are a non-factor in Europe because the European auto industry is well known to be under the thumb of the IG Metall Auto Union. Furthermore the vehicles sold their, particularly luxo, are very often subsidized fleet sales to companies. The Government helps out more on European manufactured cars... but unlike the idiot U.S buyer, the Euro buyers prefer to protect their own economy driver manufacturing interests. Europeans, unlike Americans are actually loyal to their makers. Something to do with self-preservation and their unemployment rate. Americans should learn that one thing at least. #2 And while Cadillac doesn't provide White gloves for changing the spare (how sissy can U get? Who am I Audrey Hepburn? And why White for such a dirty job) Cadillac does provide Run-Flats and ONstar

Buick News: Rumorpile: Buick Envision Coming To U.S. In 2015
Cmicasa the Great replied to William Maley's topic in Buick
What brings it home is that in the same dealership the Acadia has sold over 64K. GM did that much differentiation in the vehicles to elicit the additional sales selling at an almost identical price point. That's over 110K sold of this platform in the same showroom. Add in the Traverse's 80K.. and WOW -
As for the topic at hand. I too can't figure out what the hell the designers at Benz are experimenting with outside of how far they can go without turning off the Sheep. Benz has three vehicles that elicit any real desirability from me and they are the GWagon, CLS, and the CL (S-Class Coupe), and the last one I'm actually on the fence about.

GM's Q3 global vehicle sales up 2% to 7.3M YTD
Cmicasa the Great replied to Cmicasa the Great's topic in Industry News
Awesome news considering this insane year of GM pandering to the weak and fallible ninnies and their wicked lawyers simply out to make a buck. 7.3Million and out and out the best line-up on the market. Amazing even more that despite all the negativity in America over Cadillac sales falling 3%, it is on the rise in other markets. Maybe the media else where are intelligent enuff to recognize that a maker with 6 vehicles can't outsell ones with 12 -16. Unless of course we are talking about the current Luxury Golden Boy Audi, who is beating Caddy sales by a whopping 3100 sales YTD in America with 12 vehicle on sale vs Cadillac with 1/2 their line-up LOL as I just watched a Motor Trend Comparo between the 6 year old Camaro SS and the brand new Mustang GT. Spoiler.. the heavier, larger Camaro is also the faster and more nimbler
