  2. Good job on peddling the wares. I would imagine there was pretty good interest in that Integra Type R.

    Rent or Buy?

Home prices are not going to go up anytime soon, especially in an economically depressed areas, so there's no rush for you to get anything. Wait a year or two while you save up more money.

  6. Practically the entire lot from GM is underwhelming. How about having a few really good concepts instead of a bunch of mediocre ones?
  7. The article pretty much states the obvious that minivans are functionally superior to crossovers.

  9. When I was kid, a neighbor had a yellow mid-'70s Eldorado that I rode in a few times. It was huge. Humongous. Ginormous. I still have vivid memories of my parents shopping for their Seville in late '78. At Ronald Moran Cadillac (now Penske) in Torrance, CA, there was a white Gucci Seville in the middle of the showroom. They also had both '78 and downsized '79 Eldorados in the showroom, and the change in size was striking. And today, the '79 to '85 E-bodies are considered large.

  12. Needs just a few tweaks, most notably getting rid of the chrome and a sleeker hood.

  15. Very impressive. Good job FlyBrian and GMTruckGuy74 too for your contributions!
  16. I finally saw a new CTS on the street. I liked how trinacriabob previously described the front end as "slice and dice". It is a bit busy with all the lines and angles.
  17. I have been fortunate and have gotten some pretty good raises lately. I do have more than $50K sitting in the credit union making more than 5% interest. Of course, interest is taxable, but the mortgage interest is deductible. I do throw a little bit extra principal every month. I've just moved into a new tax bracket, so I should probably take investing more seriously and look into deferred comp accounts and such. I just don't have much motivation because I will have a pretty good pension when I retire.Real estate is just about the best investment out there, but I don't have the stomach to deal with renters.

  19. In California housing prices have fallen about 15% to 20%, back to 2004 levels, and they will probably drop further. With the tightened credit market, people are not going to be spending much, and people can no longer refinance to get cash out of their homes. Our society is so consumption-oriented that I think a slow-down to a recession is inevitable, though Alan Greenspan apparently thinks otherwise. As for myself, I no longer have the urge to get a new car every two to three years. New cars are perhaps the biggest money pits around. I have 10 years left on my mortgage and can pay it off much sooner, but with a fixed 4.75% interest rate, I have no incentive to do so when I can invest at a higher rate.
  20. I have borderline OCD in accumulating and not discarding stuff. Thankfully not packed to the rafters, though. I have old car brochures and car magazines from the '80s. I have a lot of housing brochures also. School stuff from high school. Old clothes. Boxes that electronics came in.

  24. The front of the Lacrosse is a little too shiny. A black chrome grille would be better. The base Lucerne CX has the fully chrome grille, and it suffers for it. Even better would be a slightly smaller grille that didn't look so much like an afterthought.

    Crossings

These are nice pictures. I really like cable-stayed bridges. Unfortunately, there aren't a lot of them in California.
