  1. am i the only one whose drooling over this car?
  2. i want!!!!
  3. i know most older chevy cars, such as my nova for example, have a 5x4.75 bolt pattern, meaning 5 lugs, in a 4.75in circumfrence circle.... i m not sure about the toronado but it may be similar.. offset/backspacing is the space from the rear lip of the rim to the rear mounting face the hub bolts to.... so the offset determines how far in/out of the wheel well the rim sits.. when you see a car with the rim two inches past out the fender lip, the owner doesnt know about backspacing...
  4. what about the internal politics about "noone touches the corvette" performance wise... i know its a much different time then when delorean wanted to try it, but would it have to appeal to a whole different market?
  5. a fart can and a wing is not a "mod" in my book.... what i mean is, the chevy smallblock, LSx's included, are some of the most adaptable platforms ever... Pushrod motors offer more torque at lower RPMs, and i would guess are cheaper to build and maintain... besides that, the aftermarket for the LS motors is unbelievable. i just dont understand why you think a cam in block automatically means ancient technology....
  6. bumper nutz! lol... alot of pickups have them.. look at all the colors! lol
  7. ppfffffffft... how bout a million miles on a duster? Bundy FTW
  8. Well think about this... what about the enthusiests? not just those who drive, but those who modify their cars... it may seem like a minority to you, but many who buy performance cars do modify them... my friend for a short while had a LS2 CTS-V and i helped (well more watched then anything) him do a head/cam swap on the ls2... if that was a DOHC motor, not only would there be substantially less aftermarket parts for the motor, it probably would have been uber complicated to do... remember... not all new car owners, especcially those in the market for performance cars like the V, keep their cars stock...
  9. thats why i like my 71 nova...it was a compact back then, but by todays standards.. its a big midsize... i can fit 6 comfortably, and still haul a crap load in the huge trunk...
  10. Corvette sized Rear Engine Banshee?
  11. freaking awesome commercial!
  12. my last motor in the nova that just came out shook most under 800 RPM... ( it was a 350, but same principal..) i had one cylinder out at first and slowly started to lose the rest... hopefully that turns out to be just needing a tune up... my problem turned out to be the motor eating cam lobes so the valves werent opening..
  13. im a senior at a catholic high school, ive been in catholic schools since Pre K... while it can be rough, the schools ive been in seem to have a much tighter control over bullying then public schools.... im hoping everything works out...
  14. the same carb turbo motor as the T Type Regal?? that motor evolved into my favorite buick ever... 3.8 Turbo EFI GN motor
  15. im 100% honest.. if you werent across the damn country.. id find a way to buy it... B4C is awesome!
  16. i love how the caravan and town and country are the only vans...
  17. id be driveing one of these, and i still will some day no matter what:
  18. im on page 30 of the I can haz cheezeburger site.. i cant control my laughter...
  19. w00t! ive always thought "how cool would it be if i could search the net and have a seizure at the SAME TIME!!!???" now my dreams have come true!!
  20. Just thought id throw another thread out to discuss the Alpha Platform We have two threads about the MT article about pontiac not getting an Alpha... i call especially since Lutz discredited it.... Im really interested in the platform, as it may signal a return to cheap, fun RWD cars What i know so far... Cadillac is the obvious reciever of the platform, sub CTS car Pontiac should and almost definatley will get at least one variation of the car Alpha uses Kappa as a basis and the Kappa twins may eventually move to Alpha What i want to know.. Besides the possibility of the Sky/Solsitce on Alpha, will the Ponitac/Cadillac Alphas be Sedan only? or will multiple bodystyles be used What other GM divisions will get a variant? Pontiac/Caddy/Holden..etc?? Another thing i think would be cool: supposedly when kappa was being designed the engineers built the engine bay around an LS1 motor.. not for a factory option, but so gearheads can easily swap in a V8 to the lightweight platform... i hope the same is done for alpha.. even if a V8 is not to be offered, it would be awesome if it fit... I think it would be awesome if this became a mini-zeta, with great flexability to spawn multiple bodystyles
  21. same with the LT1 SS cars
  22. well northstar emailed lutz about it.. i understand if lutz declined comment, but he outright said its untrue... i think MT is just in the wrong..
