  3. goofy looking wonder, but still a piece of history! doubt it'll meet the buy it now! Clicky
  4. god i imagine adding this to my fleet..... not even the cash right now as trying not to be up to four vehicles again
  5. not too far from me! that thing is gorgeous
  6. thanks camino..... between the fire dept, full time college classes and working 30-40 hours a week at the speed shop, squeezing in time with my girlfriend and trying to work on the nova its been hectic!
  7. wow.... i was planning on getting some aluminum racing wheels for the nova, but i am contemplating those 17's (still shed in a sticky drag radial for tractions sake)
  8. why is the 2.0L only rated at 220 hp? wasnt is 260 in the kappa/deltas? boost turned way down?
  9. thanks guys! one more step in getting this car back ready to have some fun.... i recently rewired the car completley (gutting every single bit of the old harness) and i couldnt bring myself to put those crap factory guages back in the company who makes those guages, Autometer, doesnt deal with anything like that... im more then positive i could have had them custom made, but by sticking with something off the shelf, i get them even cheaper at the speed shop i work at
  10. whats up everyone, just thought id share my instrument panel ive been working on for a while... in my nova i got tired of the boring gas guage/ speedo combo, you know, the looooong horizontal speedo..... i had an oil/water/volt and a small tach under the dash but it got pretty annoying any cluttered. It seemed my only option was the Covans dash, witch i didnt like the look/fitment of at all. since my cluster was pretty beat, i started with another i got off ebay from a 74 apollo..(i dig the wood panel stickers/fasten seat belt light) The "chrome" outlines were kinda trashed so i wound up repainting the whole bezel with VHT interior paint, you can see it well later The next step was to cut up a piece of thin steel to fit the bezel, drill the mounting wholes and play around with how i wanted the guages... i know, the paper guages look VERY professional:rolleyes: Next was to break out the hole saws and start drilling! contrary to my normal ways, i measured carefully Me on the bedroom floor wiring all the guages! Finished project! painted both the guage plate and bezel satin black, and fitted LEDs for turn signals, brights, and an oil pressure warning light i know its tight fitting all of them into the long skinny bezel, but im very happy with the results.... when installed, the tops of the GAS and VOLT guages require a bit of strain to see, but you can still see the bottom 3/4s to get an idea of where the needles at.... the temp/ oil, being more crucial, are completley visible:) another cool detail is the shift light hidden behind the fasten seat belt light! much better then smashing my knees on the under dash cluster:D
  11. reminds me of the thread i started in 08 clicky 2000th post!
  12. i know its been ripped on for its rebadging, but the 9-7x is a damn fine looking truck!
  13. well i gotta meet up with this guy next week, he went on vacation as of today, yesterday i could have seen the car but a female friend of mine whom i wanted to know..... better.... swayed my priorites a bit.... damn teenage hormones disrupting my car needs
  14. i actually will miss the trailblazer... because i dream of someday doing this
  15. i dont know what extenxt to which modifications were done ,but i think he said he had basics like a cam and intake and such.... on the tranny route, im thinking either the one he has with the car (he may sell for a package deal) or a 200-4r i have lying around.... and a 200 is the same case size as my TH350 so thats easy.... on the radiator front, im thinking of the Be Cool i can get through work for cheap, i found a set of ceramic coated olds headers that will fit, and i was told motor mounts are that difficult, though i havent looked too much into it.... i think im going to see the car tomorrow, and the 4 door chevelle its in weighs more then my nova, so we'll see how well it runs/hauls ass.... its one of those things where, id like to just go against the tide abit.... but still make my car raceable..... i know olds parts are a bit scarcer than chevy parts, and the after market is smaller, but its cool to open your hood and make people go (wtf?) .... like my friend who wants to put a 409 in a 70 chevelle...
  16. its a 66, i think he said it stock was rated at 375 hp, and some insane torque number, and im thinking of what that could do in my 3000 lb nova..... dare to be different?
  17. i wasnt even alive to see a brand new G body, but i now that for the sake of MPG, cars were castrated back in the 70's.... just lets not let that happen again
  18. "not your fathers oldsmobile..." yeah, cause this is your grandpa's olds.... the geriatric cruiser!
  19. i know i wont be the only with torches and a pitchfork at the RenCen if any product named CAMARO didnt have a v8 See? this is GM's problem! they dont get us enthusiasts! why the hell dont they engineer this car for the V16 swaps some of us want! this is why GM is swirling around the drain! FAIL! =)
  20. hey guys, just wondering maybe some of you guys can give me some advice.,,,, theres a guy locally who is seling a 68 4 door chevelle for dirt cheap, but unfortunatley i cant take on a third car. what i am interested in however, is the 66 olds 425 thats in the car, that if i looked up correctly, makes around high 300 HP, and gobs and gobs of torque.... ive been talking to the guy over email, but hopefully im going to see the car tomorrow....he is willing to seperate the motor/tranny from the car for $500..... anything to look out foor specifically on these motors? i read they didnt have hardened valve seats, so im gonna find out if theyve been replaced, as long as anyother work done to the motor, i just dont know so much about olds motors. the thing is, im not even sure what i would def do with the motor.... part of me says throw it in the DD cutlass, but besides the fact that ill drop my mpg figures a bit, my bone stock 200-4r and 7.5" rear wont be friendly with the torque of an olds big block.... heres my lil day dream... ive seen it once before... olds big block in a Nova. i am already building a rear that is going to be enough for the motor, plus future plans, and i was planning to do a tranny (mines slipping real bad) so why not just throw a BB in? ive heard its pretty easy... im crazy
  21. theres some cool roads on long island... i like exploring
  22. so, how does it work in a realistic scenario that an automaker would offer FWD in one trim, and RWD in another, of the same model?
  23. a friend of mine has those on a blacked out Aviator
