Appears they're trying to clean it up and get it running for the larger ceremony later on tonight. It's unfortunate they gave that task to Boyd Coddington...the time crunch aspect would have played better to the crew on Overhaulin' with Chip Foose.

It depends on what you're going to use your truck for. The 2007 Sierra with a 6.0 is rated at the same MPG as my 2000 Sierra with the 5.3. The 6.0 has VVT and DoD (and the HD trans) vs. the 5.3 only had DoD. The Max Package with the 6.0 also gets you rear disc brakes and a 9.5in rear axle. And if you have an interest in getting white letter tires, GMC forces you to either get the Max Package or order the Z71 suspension package. I'll likely be ordering a Sierra X-Cab 4x4 w/Max once GMC finally offers the 6 speed auto...

A Buick dealer in my area has 2 Auroras in stock if you'd like another one...'95 (green) and a '98 (maroon). Each have around 100K mi on them. They've also got an '04 Bonneville SLE with 30k mi on it.

My friend just got out of his GM Smartlease on his CTS. CarMax bought it outright. Just another option you may want to consider.

My German Shepherd has a habit of destroying crates as well (I just reinforced the new crate door I bought!). We have the Invisible Fence too, which seems to work well....though luckily when she gets zapped, she retreats and doesn't test the boundary much! When I had mine installed, they could vary the field size emitted around the buried wire by adjusting the fence transmitter unit. Then they could increase the collar settings. Then the third thing they could do was turn off the 30 sec delay so if the dog entered the field they'd immediately get zapped instead of just the collar tone going off to signal them to retreat. With the delay enabled, if the dog runs fast enough at the fence, it can beat the shock. I think I have the 700 series, but there's a newer 800 series that might be better. Also, they do have a training collar system with a remote now as well.

If the focus is on maximizing storage in the center console, why not move the gear shift lever back to the steering column? LAME. What's next, a Corvette with a pump-to-set e-brake? Cadillac needs to go visit an Infiniti dealer and notice that the G35 has a different console/e-brake setup on the manual trans models vs. the automatic models. Just make the manual trans an extra cost option...and do it right! Different kinds of buyers...

I found this article more interesting than all the hype around John Schneider's General Lee clone making auction history. And who knew Johnny Cash wrote a song about it! I STILL want a '69 Charger as a direct result of watching this TV showing growing up!

Disappointing no 6-speed auto available for the Sierra...

I believe BMW NA is headquartered in Westwood, NJ. Also, I think they own the BMW of Manhattan and Westchester BMW stores. Open Road BMW seemed to be the dealer in central Jersey with Otto's picking up the Philly area. I bought my car in Newport, RI...but for a few weeks I had assembled the inventory for PA/NJ/NY/CT/RI/MA looking for my particular car.The general assumption people make with BMW is that it's a luxury car, which to me is where the disconnect happens. They're quick, satisfying to drive and handle well, but the interior has that whole German minimalist thing going on. You're expected to adapt to their way of thinking...cupholders, etc are not priorities at BMW. I actually like the interior in my 2005 better than my dad's 2007 (new bodystyle). Up until recently, they've been one of the only manufacturers to offer cars with RWD and manual transmissions. Ironic that's resulted in them becoming the leading "anti-Camry" alternative...and that over popularity is exactly why many of us feel Pontiac has an opportunity with a RWD line-up.

The two BMWs I've had have been very good...however when there are issues, the dealer just replaces the parts and makes BMW eat it. BMW and their service surveys are a HUGE thing to the dealers. Lots of coaching to attempt to get their "5" rating.I've become much more familiar with my GMC Service Advisor now that I've cleared 5yrs/60K on my Sierra. I've seemingly replaced every seal and "vent" in the front axle/diff. I can't wait until the 6-speed auto arrives in the new Sierra! Although, the door closed "weird" on 2007 Sierra X-Cab I looked at this morning at the dealer while I got my oil changed (like the striker wasn't totally aligned). I'm not sure if it was that particular truck or what...also, it was an SLT but had black door handles...so maybe the dealer messed with it. The interior of the cab seemed smaller in back than my current truck too, so I need to return with a tape measure to verify...
