  1. I'm lazy. I don't feel like looking it up. Show me some figures or something that backs up what you are saying.
  2. Hold on a minute. So the profits that the oil companies made is going to toward finding more oil and not just making money? And when they find the oil, they are going to build a platform there to get the oil out? How much does that cost? Millions? Billions? Isn't that amazing how that works? You bring a product to market and, *gasp*, make a profit, and use that profit to fund your company and to explore for more of your product. I thought they just liked screwing us over. Go figure. My gas prices are down to the 2.30 today, not to brag or anything. Doesn't really matter. I'm going to get it anyways if I need it.
  3. Media Advisory: GM's Wagoner to Announce Major Consumer Initiative DETROIT - General Motors Chairman and CEO Rick Wagoner will announce a major consumer initiative at a news conference on Wednesday, Sept. 6, at 1 p.m. EDT at the GM Renaissance Center. A news release will be issued at 12:50 p.m. EDT, and will be available on GM Media Online (media.gm.com). Th e release and additional media materials also will be distributed at the news conference.
  4. What the difference between have races competing against each other and sexs competing against each other? What about other shows that regularly feature men against women? Isn't that sexist? How about beer commercials that show members of all races sitting around a campfire, just to achieve racial balance? Isn't that racial exploitation? But all of this does prove one thing: the producers of 'Survivor' and its network, CBS, are geniuses. The show's ratings had been down, but now everybody will be watching due to the controversy. Who will win: Not GM.
  5. grandprixman, I hope you can take a joke. I'm in the mood to play. Can I ask you some questions? You said in your first post that you are African-American. Are you a white or black African-American? What part of Africa are you from. My mom is Japanese-American. She was born in Yokohoma, Japan and became a US citizen. I was born in America. I'm just an American, who happens to be half Japanese. I always find this funny for some reason. I'll never forget the story of a REAL African-American trying to get a scholarship for america's version of African-American. The guy was from South Africa and white.
  6. He's almost done with the first one now. Number 2, here I come.
  7. And what was your occupation?
  8. GM to Introduce New Light-Duty Diesel for North America High-efficiency V-8 scheduled for pickup trucks under 8,600 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight MILFORD, Mich. - General Motors Corp. will introduce a new V-8 turbo-diesel that improves engine fuel efficiency by 25 percent for North American light duty trucks after 2009. The premium V-8 diesel is expected to deliver class-leading torque, power and refinement while maintaining a significant fuel efficiency advantage over comparable output gasoline engines. The new dual-overhead cam, four-valve V-8 diesel engine will fit within the same space as a small-block V-8 gasoline engine. This compact size is made possible by using an integrated air system and narrow block. "This new GM light duty diesel is expected to become a favorite among customers who require excellent towing ability and fuel efficiency," said Tom Stephens, group vice president, GM Powertrain. "It will meet the stringent 2010 emissions standards, and it will be compliant in all 50 states, making it one of the cleanest diesel vehicles ever produced." Environmental benefits of the new engine include a 13-percent reduction in CO2 versus gasoline engines, and at least a 90-percent reduction in particulates and NOx compared to diesel vehicles today. This will be GM's first engine to use a NOx after-treatment system with a diesel particulate filter to help achieve the Tier 2 Bin 5 and LEV 2 emissions standards. Technical highlights of the engine include aluminum cylinder heads with integrated manifolding, compacted graphite iron (CGI) block for a strong engine base and fracture-split main bearing caps and connecting rods for a precise fit. A high-pressure, common-rail fuel system is used, which has the ability to inject fuel five times per combustion event to control noise and emissions. GM (Opel, Saab, Vauxhall, GMDAT, Isuzu and Suzuki) currently offers 17 diesel engine variants in 45 vehicle lines around the world. GM sells more than one million diesel engines annually, with products that offer a range of choices from the 1.3L four-cylinder diesel engine sold in the Opel Agila and Corsa, up to the 6.6L V-8 Duramax diesel sold in full-size vans, heavy duty pickups and medium duty trucks in the U.S. GM introduced the Duramax diesel 6.6L V-8 in the U.S. in the 2001 model year and since then, customer enthusiasm for this heavy duty diesel has been outstanding.
  9. Sort of...... http://www.pontiac.com/
  10. That's what I don't understand. The damn things are going to thrown out anyways.
  11. Where the hell did I say that?!?! In the article, the columnist, says that the U.S.-owned automakers are being burdened by fierce foreign competition. How about this, MAKE A BETTER PRODUCT!!!! I understand that everything isn't great and changes need to be made on the policy front, but to blame all your problems on this administration and republicans, and not look in the mirror to see why you have problems is completely irresponsible and down right retarded. This is another dumb statement, "But he'll sit astride a Harley, visit a Nissan truck plant, herald the Toyota engine that won the Indy 500, campaign for Republicans and then have his press secretary swear there's no snub of Detroit." Ummm, maybe he's "heralding" the HONDA engine (no Toyota engines) because it runs on ethanol, just like the American built ethanol vehicles the president keeps talking about. But of course everything that you read online must be true. Also, he can't do anything else that deals with vehicle manufacturing, without first meeting with the Big 3? Get real.
  12. Union worker's pay is based off of the national minimum wage. If it goes up to $7, then they get a pay raise to "offset" the difference. Not to get stuck on minimum wages or anything, but if politicians are so concerned about a living wage, why not just make it $15 an hour instead of $7? You can't live off of $7.25 or whatever they want it to be. You know why? Inflation, that's why. Sorry, I answered my own question.
  13. Ahh, so now it's the presidents fault. It's so clear to me know. The bastard. This is the dumbest article I've read here lately. "Nah, why should the president care whether U.S.-owned automakers, burdened by fierce foreign competition..." Are you kidding me?!?! The poor, poor U.S.-owned automakers are being burdened by the evil, big mean foreign competition. How retarded it that statement? The president should have waved his magic wand and make everthing better. "Here, let fix all your screw ups in the pasted poor, little U.S.-owned automakers. I'll also raise the minimum wage to $7 so your union can all recieve a pay raise. Their, now all your troubles are gone." Give me a f cking break.
  14. GM's Online Ordering Guide.
  15. The horsepower numbers for the Acadia have changed. It will now have 275 hp @ 6600 rpm, 251 lb-ft of torque @ 3200 rpm I'm guessing these are SAE certified numbers. GM listed it at 267hp @ 6600 and 247lb-ft @ 3200 pending SAE certification.
  16. Updates for Acadia: -Mechanical section-(LY7) Engine, 3.6L Variable Valve Timing V6 MPFI, changed the description to read "Engine, 3.6L Variable Valve Timing V6 MPFI (275 hp [205.1 kW] @ 6600 rpm, 251 [338.9 N-m] lb-ft of torque @ 3200 rpm) I'm guessing these are SAE certified numbers. GM listed it at 267hp @ 6600 and 247lb-ft @ 3200 pending SAE certification.
  17. Chevy.com has been updated with the 2007 Equinox. It will give you a better idea of the new interior in the Torrent, even though you have seen pictures from the factory.
  18. I thought this was funny. http://www.drudgereport.com/flash3.htm Good try though.
  19. So true. So true.
  20. It's easier to accelerate and stop when you are smaller and lighter. That's a no brainer. Ask the fat kids on the play ground.
  21. Credit should be given to --EQUINOX CENTRAL.COM--. Some one took the pictures from the factory and posted them on their site, with GM's okay. Here's another one: Here's a link to all THE PICTURES. You have to register to their site.

  23. Not to steal this thread, but what should the next or updated Colorado exceed at compared to the competition? Size? Economy? Handling? Hawling? I think we might see a truck that is the same size but better handling, mpg, and price. I think the market is changing toward "real" compact trucks, not little, full size trucks.
  24. Yes. Available at your Chevy dealer as an accessory.
