  1. MRDETROITMETAL: Wow! That is different! And I certainly noticed the "R" emblem on the fender and the headlamp covers a la the '65 Riv. GM needs to go far out like that with at least one Buick. Thank you!

  4. GM is trying to take Buick to a more refined place, at a higher price point. In their words, ". . . the Enclave is where we want to take Buick . . . blah-blah-blah . . . ." The LaCrosse and Lucerne both were (and, at this moment, remain) handicapped by certain things, so let's see how GM fares with thoroughly competitive Buicks on Epsilon II and Alpha and Delta II - hoping that they make the right effort and investment with them.

  6. You sure there hadn't been one camouflaged spy photo... with the vehicle, in a dark color, looking along the lines of a Zafira/MPV. EDIT: I found a site with the photo: go to http://www.worldcarfans.com/9080804.006/ne...-mpv-spy-photos
  7. Pontiac Custom-S: Thank you for the information. Does anyone think that a variety of body styles would be likely? Or should we expect a Delta II - 4-door sedan Epsilon II - 4-door sedan Alpha - 4-door sedan Enclave - 4-door vehicle
  8. Hi Satty, I used to have a 1983 Buick Electra Estate Wagon, quite similar to yours (same color - I think it was called champagne - and woodgrain) except mine had the Buick chrome road wheels (and I later got wide whitewalls and switched out the hood ornament to the Buick tri-shield). I really liked that car! Thanks for posting the pictures and sharing your buying experience. I wish you lots of happy and safe driving in your LeSabre Estate Wagon!
  9. Not yet. How could he have owned the car for 10 years but have no paperwork?

  12. Buckingham Fountain (in Chicago ; it's the one which was shown in the opening credits of "Married with Children")

  14. Were you gone? (fine print: This is exactly what i say to my co-workers when they return from a vacation.)
  15. I didn't know what you meant by "snowflakes" until I saw the picture; I remember those. A Pontiac exclusive, right?
  16. So you didn't see me waving at you...
  17. As if no one could guess, mine comes from one of my favorite cars -- if not my very top favorite. Besides, the closest runner up, "ElectraEstateWagon," didn't seem to have the same cache.
  18. I saw a large '57 or so Ford 4-door (maybe a Fairlane?) on the walk home today. The car really stood out. I like to think that the owner was making a statement, that he didn't want to be like everyone else and drive a Toyohondissan clone.
  19. It would give me hope if they would say that the Volt's technology will be available across all of their brands, but, so far, it's been all about the Volt... a single car. (I'm not saying to rebadge the Volt for all of their brands, but offer the same technical system with all of their brands.) And to that I'd add that Buick has been shrunk down to next-to-nothing, despite all the talk of making Buick NA = Buick China. Guess the answer is no money. Remember when Lutz said that Wagoner told him they had to put the money where they had some momentum? Things seem to have only gotten worse since that time. Imagine my frustration when they said about the Buick Velite (or something like it) "We have no platform and no money." And now that Bob Lutz has said no niche vehicles, I presume there goes the Buick Riviera.
  20. Automotive News is doing its annual "future product plans" issues this month, so one clue may be to see what they say about Buick and GM. If not, perhaps we'll have to be patient until the auto show season.
  21. Would it be fair to think that whatever China does with the Buick Park Avenue -- they could leave it "as-is," restyle it, move it to another platform, drop it -- would be the likely fate of the Lucerne?
  22. Naw, there'll be something else. What happened to making Buick NA = Buick China. Buick China has more than two models, so when they get something new, maybe we will too.
  23. It beats the Rendezvous.
  24. That's how it's been advertised, and it is -- without question -- Buick's finest luxury crossover ever.
  25. Sometimes there's not much besides bad news on the 'net, so for Buick fans to enjoy while on the way to something better, here's a round-up of Buick information from Automobile Magazine, including Jean Jennings' video review of the Buick Enclave. To see it all, click here.
