  1. Sarcasm aside. The car meets most of your requirements - 34 mpg highway, roomy inside, hell of a trunk space, good engine, (hell with the CVT get that 6-speed), no bells and whistles yet enough creature comforts all for around $24,000. Honestly Honda is the only car maker that can build a slick 6-speed south of Porsche - even Porsche is slipping these days.
  2. To be fair as always Avalanche did not receive any service from GM's marketing department - it sold on its own. Time to put baby-Duramax diesel in the 1500s and SUVs.
  3. As with most of the cars GM has gotten out recently - 95 to 98% there. Somehow the remaining lacks.
  4. If GM sees TDI as its direct competitor, at least it should have added the manual transmission option as TDI has a high manual transmission take rate.
  5. No beancounters disagree. ~30,000 vechicles was not a bad niche to keep, but somehow GM thought such was not the case.
  6. Honda Accord Sport.

Touch and feel it; sometime vision can be deceiving.

    dating & racism

Exactly. Just move on and find another person. Sometimes just take no for an answer and hope it was for the best.
  9. No matter how much God syndrome human beings have, artificial intelligence cannot replace human intelligence it can only supplement. Because in order to model a perfect artificial intelligence system we have to understand human intelligence thoroughly, we are far away from that scientifically.
  10. There is one or two surprises from Chevy this year of the thirteen to be released.

    dating & racism

I hate people of all races, including my own. Does that make me a racist? Or to be more politically correct - equal opportunity racist? Let me go a step further, racism is ingrained in human beings, it is the levels of it that are displayed by different individuals that vary. So is it fair to call a person racist because he has more extroverted display of the trait than a person who hides it?
  12. In other thread, in other world, and another lifetime :
  13. Or you are getting old. Scratch that option as having any bearing! It's just that the ELR is damn good looking - including the interior. Yes it is a beautiful car - if you get a chance see it in person.
  14. Or you are getting old.
  15. Economy of scales and adoption of new technology. Too bad its booth was empty every time I was there - I wanted to talk with representatives.
  16. That is like lighting the grill 10 feet away to warm the chilli.
  17. Work on the construction site or in remote places after sunset, you will see the importance.
  18. Your favorite Mercedes S-Class 350 bluetec, with as tested price of $113,000 ran 0-60 in 7 seconds. According to your logic, it is twice the cost of the ELR it should have done the time in half. Even the lowly Camry V6 is faster than that. Chevrolet Silverado Duramax outruns it.

ProfilePic.jpgYou Next! Done Next Please! Ugh, I need new glasses, I hate them. What state penitentiary did you run away from?
  20. I'm still holding out hope that GM will surprise us with more features for these new trucks. I'm disappointed with the LED bed lighting; it looks like something you'd buy in a late night, "As Seen on TV" commercial. The 2011 GMC Sierra HD All Terrain concept had an in-bed LED light strip, very similar to what the 2013 Ford Atlas has. Why was this not pushed further for production? GM/GMC showed this off two years ago, and nothing for the K2xxx trucks. I'm hoping there will be a composite bed, similar to what the '11 HD All Terrain concept had, that will be optional and include the LED light strip and bedside storage. I'm a fan of the GMT-900 styling, so while a little let down that GM did not go farther with the exterior styling I'm pretty happy with the look (still getting use to the GMC Sierra headlights; need to see this truck in person to settle this issue). With Avalanche gone, there is nothing in GM's stable to replace it. At least carry over those features in some package on the K2XX - let's say fisherman's package or hunter's orgy-box, something. No side storage, no under-bed utility places, nothing - that bed looks bland and utility-less. And this is the same God Darn mistake GM makes, discontinue a vehicle and do not replace it. Sure it is only 4 vehicles per year, or another 3 vehicles there. Suddenly you are looking at losing 1% of market share.
  21. Spark is a primer. I think GM has its minds set on smaller premium vehicle.
  22. I am warming up to the styling, after seeing them in person at Detroit. But the trucks still do not break any new ground on innovative features for utility and my reservations for the truck continue for that reason.
  23. Jim Hall is a deusche who thinks he knows a lot about auto industry because he has a mercenary (sorry consulting) company.
  24. Pictures do not do justice to this car.
  25. Incoherent and safe.
