C/D review of Lucerne on stands
The first Avalon only looked nice because it was pretty staid. The second-gen was really hillarious and the third-gen makes me laugh, too. I'll be disappointed when Toyota makes a good-looking Avalon. It'll be like watching The Late Show, the Late Late Show, then that crap with Carson Daly...not funny anymore.

Solstice outsells Miata
D'uh. Pent-up demand for a brand-new budget roadster vs. a redesign.

Driving at night...
When I drive the Bonnie, people often tell me what a nice Grand Am it is. That's big for a Grand Am. Never seen those wheels on a Grand Am. I rented a Grand Am like that once. One kid at college even said to me his Grand Am could beat my Grand Am because he put some "wicked mods" on it. Yeah. If those mods include a Pratt & Whitney turbine.

Hmmmm. is it really worth a roadtrip and that much
Sorry, guys, no dice. There was an off-and-on Invicta car company in England, but nothing in terms of aircraft or weapons systems military or civilian. Buick did have some shared jetage nomenclature. There were Lockheed Electras - pre-war Model 10 and postwar L-188s - that are still used by the U.S. Navy as P-3 Orions and North American F-86 Sabre, namesake of the '51 concept and the '59 everyone loves. Another Vietnam-jet-shared Buick name is of the McDonnell-Douglas A-4 Skyhawk light attack plane.

Ohh, so the upgrade prevents the car from slamming into another one. Nice change from the old one, Mercedes. Collision Insurance. Like None Other.

N'Awlins
Tough. I have no sympathy for actions like that. Most people have been though hard times of varying degrees. Too bad. You deal with it like most real Americans do.

NY Autoshow teaser
Seems like a lackluster show this year. Besides the Outlook, I'm ambivalent.

One thing to remember is that the majority of the 'nations' in the Middle East aren't what we think consider nations to be. They're so fractured by internal strife and civil conflict because of their arbitrary, European-drawn borders they can't have a collective national identity. Ditto with much of Africa.

Edmunds Comparo: 2006 Evo IX vs 2006 WRX STi
In cars like these, you'd want side airbags. Anyway, its odd that for once, the tricked-out trim with paste-on rally accessories looks better than the stock version. Only with the Lancer.

Geely LG1
A leaked image of the new Geely LG1 to be shown later this year. This is the Toyota Vios (overall). And our Cobalt (grille and headlamps). Must have some mighty large Xerox machines over there.

GM cuts $200 million from ad budget
They need to advertise the right things. People are sick of Red Tag Events. This isn't Sears.
