  1. That is my favorite part of the concept too! I also love the stance.
  2. <--- Still can't get over the bad nose job...
  3. I just realized why I like the ricer wing on the SCSS Cobalt; because the car is so damn boring without it. I LOVE the new motor but lets hope the wheels are nothing like those. I remember them from a few years ago as well and they do nothing but make the car look less dramatic and more boring/normal. Of course, I LOVE the SCSS wheels, so go figure. I'd also still like to see the wheels that the SCSS debuted with make it to production (They were aftermarket 18s, and gorgeous) P.S. I'm so glad to see a sedan coming as well!
  4. At first I thought the power operated hood hinges were a cool idea, but then I thought about having a dead battery. Wouldn't that be a bitch? I guess the battery is stashed somewhere else on the vehicle?
  5. Not bad... The wheels suck, but I like it otherwise. (Take that DUB - LOL)
  6. I'm not sure what you folks are smoking, but I love that thing! It's very aggressive, if a bit overdone. Stuff I like: * The wheels are beautiful!!!!! * Love the clear tails. * Love the rear spolier. * Love the new side skirt. Stuff I'd tweak and keep: * The hood needs to be more subtle, but it has a lot of appeal. * The front fascia needs to be reworked a bit on the bottom. Stuff I hate: * Get rid of those TACKY yellow brake calipers, pronto!!! * Throw the rear bumper away and start fresh. Stuff I'm willing to bet on: * This is a styling preview for the CTS-V * This car would look A LOT better had it been presented in a better color.
  7. Not feelin' the truck... But they can haul that cargo in the bed right to my house
  8. First reaction to the pix: Reaction after considering GM's bad photography -and- reading the specs: Meh... Might actually be pretty cool!
  9. I watched the 20/20 thing to and enjoyed it. Gore is a hack.
  10. I'm usually polite to everyone, unless I'm having a bad day in general. If someone pisses me off (domestic or import) they usually catch some sort of hell from me like being cut off or tailgated or flipped off and yelled at etc.
  11. That's a pretty sexy car! As an aside, did anyone else get around to reading the dumb assed comments about the article?
  12. LMFAO My thoughts exactly! I'm more conservative than liberal and I am a member of the college republicans at my campus. Not really because I like republicans; moreso because I hate liberals. (I have my reasons) My hometown is very liberal and the college there is REALLY bad for this sort of thing. I have a friend who attends class there and often tries to bring her views to light (She's a conservative, but not a very strong one) and she is openly insulted and shot down. (Like serious name calling and insults) It really wouldn't do for me to attend class there because I would probably become violent; no, seriously, if someone insulted me like that I'd probably alter their face, professor or not. (Besides, I'm conservative right? Nothing like a little bit of good ole fashioned blood letting conflict to get MY rocks off) My university on the other hand seems to be pretty balanced. Sure, everyone remarks about Bush but it's not because they're pushing a certain agenda, it's just because he's an idiot. I had one professor last semester that was super liberal but he wasn't a bad professor and I got an 'A' in the class, so obviously my stances didn't affect his judgement. My girlfriends college is VERY liberal and someone found it funny to hang a sign of Bush with the words "Putting the CON back in Conservative" on one of the main entrances. I then found it even funnier to hang the sign "What's a four letter word for liberal? ... LAZY" below it. And I do like to discuss my theory, in very public places, about how all of the hippies who wouldn't get a job in the 60s pretty much CREATED an industry for themselves through academia and that it should be counted in the economy, because that's all our higher education is now; an industry. After all College is supposed to open your mind, not initiate homogeny. But then who am I kidding, I love to piss people off it's my 'thing' All jokes aside, I do think this is a serious problem though. I remember reading a few years ago that largely, college campuses were becoming more conservative as a sort of backlash against the liberal academia. I'm sure that's changed by now though, since everybody's favorite f*ck up in the white house and the constant Hollywood (pop culture) rhetoric of 'it's not cool to be conservative' has made it VERY unpopular to be that way. And I'm sure it'll only get worse as the liberals ratchet up the discrimination against everyone who isn't like them. I find it funny that the whole mindset of being liberal has to do with freedom, yet unless you live by their standards they want to force regulation on you faster than conservatives (witness the whole green movement and the SLEW of regulations and accountability that will SURELY smother us in the next 4 years -- Because the next president WILL be democratic.) Oh well, I still wouldn't hesitate to speak my mind in class. I keep very good records of everything (notes, grades, etc.) and sometimes if it gets heated I hide a tape recorder on me and record the conversation just in case the instructor wants to be dishonest. It's sad that Politics has infiltrated EVERY aspect of our lives in this country. That's why I'm largely apathetic and anti-government, simply because I'm so f*cking tired of hearing one side constantly bitching at the other about some stupid issue like gay marriage or fuel economy.
  13. That's awesome! I love how the new wheel trend in HD trucks!
  14. I guess they mean a version of that specific car might launch here... I see no reason for a CSV sub division or branding when we already have GMPD and SS or Z-xx
  15. Every fuel source has it's problems... The majority of electricity for all of the 'earth saving plug in hybrids' will come from fossil fuel burning power plants. I guess we're just a species damned to not exist someday... What a shame. (Sarcasm)
  16. So the countless years of Honda FCV research mean nothing to you? That's such a cop out. These companies (Honda included) spend BIG $$$ on research and then people come along and say "that's nothing special" whatever... They are, with the GMT900 intro. That post is gospel... It's not about the environment, and it never was. It's about regulate the "people" you don't like (Republicans, rednecks, etc.) Or basically from a sociological view, it's a typical power struggle (Which is probably subconcious for the most part) I used to think it was a political thing (car buying patterns) and I still think that has something to do with it. However, around here I see just as many conservative yuppies tooling around in their Toyotas as I see liberal yuppies. So, I guess it's just a yuppie thing (for some people) And I will not be until Toyota is attacked as brutally as GM was for 4-5 years. IMO, the media still owes Detroit A LOT of long awaited respect at the expense of the free pass Japan Inc. has received for so long. It's not 'all better' because of a few months of non-cynical begrudginbg articles. I have never denied that I am biased and I have never denied that I would/will use that to my advantage. The difference is, I am not ignorantly biased. Unlike your average CR reader I do not maintain the opinion that company X is bad 'because this publication or journalist, or my friend said so' I am biased because I know the facts, I know the business and I simply picked a team. (Think of it in terms of a GM or Ford employee) Actually, we only care about these... You can keep the capitalism. (I'm actually and independent, but would swing right before left)
  17. I'm sure Toyota will win... They're very masterful at fixing things like this. Well, that and every feable gamer wannabe without a life values "GT" cars from Japland higher than anything domestic, so that'll be a ton of votes right there. (a.k.a. if you sit on the computer for 5 hours at a time, you can vote a lot) I voted for the general tho.
  18. I see A LOT of 300C in it too.
  19. Absolutely not... My parents are the biggest pack rats I know and I refuse to live like that. I take it to the extreme as well (Just like every other aspect of my life -- for better or worse) Furniture, rooms in my house, etc. For example; if I never eat at the dining room table, I will never own a dining room table. Therefore, if I never eat at the dining room table obviously I'm never using the 'dining room' so that room will no longer be a dining room. I will find a USEFUL purpose for that space... It's very untraditional but it works excellent for me. The past 2 years in college have been great since I only have like 3 pieces of furniture to move. The first year, I didn't even have anything on the walls (It wasn't my home and still isn't -- It's basically a hotel for 3-4 years IMO) Anyway... I probably make an exception for 2 things: 1) Car related crap (Parts, lubricants, polishes, etc.) But recently I have been purging that stuff and 2) Clothes. For some reason I feel that I have to have this massive wardrobe, and as long as it fits I have to wear it (even if it's just to work on my cars)
  20. Wouldn't mind seeing the SD moniker come back though.
  21. That's interesting. I've only ever witnessed one without the spoiler and it looked excellent. I could tell where the person had actually removed the spoiler themselves though. I've always wanted one with an F4 generation RS-esque spoiler. I think that would look good because it would be subtle, yet the car wouldn't seem like it was missing something. (That's whay I hate cars like the tuner Acuras and new Lexi sport models... They have all of the ground effects (Some gawdy) yet the top of the car look untouched and half assed (like those Civics you always see in the trailer parks with primer panels on them, LOL)
  22. The Venom has good aspects I think. I was also a fan of the Copperhead concept and I liked the Hemi Convertible at the time but now it just seems kind of plain. Maybe it's because I'm so sick of seeing all of the LHS and 300Ms on the road that I'm just bored with the design. I always thought this was kind of cool: The Dodge Super8 Hemi It was hated by a lot of people, but I think it had some really cool elements and was pretty unique. With some polish, I could see myself buying something like this, the fact that it has a lot of retro appeals to me quite a bit. (Of course, I also have pretty weird taste most of the time)
  23. Can I get an AMEN!!! MORE FROM THE ARTICLE: Get a load of this idiot... Yes, yes, that's exactly what we should do; limit choice instead of innovate. Focus on the cars that DON'T DAMAGE our environment so much as opposed to the cars that do the most damage. Ignore a multi-million dollar market for the sake of making anti freedom jack-offs like this guy happy. That makes PERFECT sense and logic!!!Did someone drop this guy on his head when he was a baby or did his dog just get hit by one of those "paleolithic behemoth SUVs" So being an environmentalist means that you're automatically anti-SUV as well?!?! Wow, these 'open minded' people sure aren't that smart. Anyone with an issue of Motor Trend can tell you that Carbon Emissions aren't always a product of the size of the car. Maybe these guys should revisit how much size matters TRANSLATION: GM bad... TO-YO-TA good... But, BTW, Toyota also is level headed enough to not endorse the new regulations. But that's okay, since, everything Toyota does is golden; even the new gas hog Tundra.
  24. I don't think anything about any of GMs SUVs or any SUV in general is pre-historic. Which it received NO credit for... GM has always added the technology where it is NEEDED and can do the most good, not where their image benefits from it the most, so they can stab the same naive bastards in the back with an insult (I.E: Selling your image on the Prius while BUILDING the largest truck on the market; the Tundra) It's about time the media *figured this out* and it's HIGH time GM started to promote it, so that the low IQ journalists can figure it out. After all, it's not like they actually research the stories anymore. A 'reformed villain'?!?! Give me a break!
