My 400hp V8 car isn't driven more than 500 miles a year, so whatever I don't think it'll be THAT drastic... I think innovation will allow for V8's to stick around. Maybe not to the point that they are now though.

Breaking: Hostages taken at Clinton campaign office
FUTURE_OF_GM replied to mustang84's topic in The Lounge
Not really... The 'illness' would have to be pretty severe for someone to go to that extent, in which case it isn't likely that he would be roaming the streets OR allowed to raise his child since said 'illness' is so well documented. This is political in nature, the 'illness' is merely a crutch for this particular incident. -
Well, well... How fu[CENSORED]ng creative...

More evidence why global warming hysteria is BS
FUTURE_OF_GM replied to mustang84's topic in The Lounge
+1... err 3 I agree that we should address pollution, but enough is enough with the politics. That's how EVERYTHING gets ruined. I think the politicians should keep their asses out of it and I think the scientists should be very revealing about their funding/agendas and ideology. BTW, does anyone find it scary that this series of events is lining up with what many bible people describe as the end of days. (Where a global government will be forced upon us and the anti-christ will rise through the ranks to eventually control us all through barcodes, a.k.a. technology that deals with how much money we are 'allowed' to make and how well we are 'allowed' to live) Just a thought.... But this whole mess is forming a 'global government' of sorts and that really scares me. Because where there is government, there WILL BE regulation, and it's no longer run-of-the-mill law with all of the envirofreaks pushing the movement. They want legislation designed to regulate how we live our lives to a large degree. -

LOL. What kind of idiot would tell his kid to watch a sniper blow his head off on the news? (Because you know that's what it'll eventually come to) "Junior, daddy's gonna make himself a hero today by startin' a revolution." Give me a break I'm so tired of this sick-assed society we're living in now, people like this should be silenced; forever. It's like that idiot that shot up VT earlier this year. I wish someone could've made him suffer before he off-ed himself. -
Nope.. Like I said, a few months of good write-ups do not make up for the years of bias against Detroit. That's not the point.. It's the mere reference to them as triplets... No one relates Lexi to plebian Toyotas in that manner eventhough they are SO close these days that an argument could be made to kill the Lexus division altogether. I agree with Balthazar, the reference to the Lambdas as triplets is plain and simple. Because it is fleeting... And deep down we all know that. Our hopes were raised when Lutz was hired only to be destroyed for the next 3 years by a media hellbent on destroying Detroit. I'm not that forgiving or ignorant.

I hate coffee and I hate coffee shops even more. (Don't even get me started) However, I am a smoothie fanatic so I find myself in coffee shops WAY too often. The smell alone makes me want to vomit. DAMN YOU RITAZZA AND YOUR DELICIOUS PEACH & CREAM SMOOTHIES!!!!

How about "God I wish we could think of a better name that the public would actually buy" to the 6th or 8th power? Lame, I know... But funny!

That kid is effin' good, man! -
Funny coincidence... The friend I bought my small block 400 from a few years ago currently works at the BMW plant. He gets really good deals on cars and even said he would try to hook me up with a job if I wanted it. Maybe I can see if he'll get us a fleet deal (Yes, I am an in-the-closet BMW fan) I'd like to find a nice used Z8

I'm sorry to hear that man. I won't say I've been where you're at but I've definitely felt that same violent tension; and wanted to act on it. In fact, I probably would seriously consider hurting that little bastard really bad. BUT the reality of the situation is that if you were to hurt him or kill him, it'd just make your life worse and I think we both know that your grandmother wouldn't want you suffering for a large protion of your life. I know this is going to sound cliche, but it's a lesson I learned the hard way as I was a very angry person for a very long time. I would recommend volunteering or helping someone out, especially if it's complete strangers. The reason for this is 3 fold: 1) All that anger inside of you is energy and it will continue to build and eat at you until something gives. More likely than not, when that something does give, it'll be a negative expression of the energy either focused at someone or at yourself. By volunteering, you can take all that energy and turn it into passion to help people. It manifests in a positive way and produces literal benefits at the same time. 2) To dispell your disgust with the actions of others. I find myself watching the news and just being horrified at some of the murders and crimes people commit; sometimes they affect me really bad. By exposing yourself to this side of life, it helps balance out all of the negative stuff that you've encountered recently and helps prevent you from forming a negative attitude about people in general. (I still have a very engrained negative attitude about people in general unfortunately) 3) The best way to combat evil in this world is with GOOD. If you live your life promoting the GOOD in yourself, then it might inspire others to do the same or at the very least will set a good example for others. I know, it all sounds kinda 'feel good' lame, but it seriously works and it is founded in psychology. (For me at least -- My charity of choice is Relay For Life

What's on your Christmas/Hanukah/Kwanza list this year?
FUTURE_OF_GM replied to GMTruckGuy74's topic in The Lounge
The commercial side: Metal band/GM brand tees, Camaro parts, parts to repair my violin, speakers for me Focus... And the list goes on. The important side: Just some time off and time well spent with my friends and family. I've had a rough semester of class, work, Relay For Life and travel. It'll be nice to relax a bit and recharge. -
I find it funny how you're still mad about me busting your balls in that Prius thread like 2 years ago... It's AWESOME that I had such a big impact! Thanks! I also find it funny that LA deduced something about me being prejudiced based on me stating that I hated certain white people (obvioulsy for reasons other than race --- such as their actions) in a thread that has the sole purpose of criticizing white people. Anyway, keep the comments coming... I enjoy a daily laugh.

Life's first step... it's all about choices

Money does not equal happiness... Stay with the job you're happy at. Then, when the time comes you can pursue a better option. (Pay-wise) -
Yep, I always hated the 'chase format' thing... I'd be pretty mad if I had run consistent enough the entire season to dominate the points only to have that taken away in the last 10 races by a couple of incidences of bad luck. CadillacKing3: I really hope you're right because I do not want to see the Earnhardt legacy die.

How exactly could they prove that? I guess you're just automatically guilty regardless, right?

LOL... All those liberals out there in California preaching that "Live free, but only by our means." brand of independence again... So, theoretically, I could be driving down the road and slam on the breaks to avoid a car stopped in front of me. Then one of those asshole LAPD folks could pull me over and charge me with this meaningless, stupid law. Then on the way back, just for $h!s and giggles, he can stop at the seven11 and pick up the 16 year old that 'deliberately turned his head to watch' me avoid the car when he heard the incident occur. I know this is outlandish, but seriously, it's NOT FAR OFF now. Stuff like this makes me want to be like Kurt Russell in Tarantino's Grind House flick "Deathproff" Just get an old car, paint 'er up all intimidating and run the F*CK into people whilst hoping for the best.

I used to be a huge NASCAR fan until it became such a joke. (In many, many ways) As for DEI and Theresa... 1) I think DEI is in serious trouble because Theresa isn't that good of a 'hands on' leader. She needs to stick to the business side of things and hire someone to do the nuts and bolts. 2) Jr. sucks ass regardless... He's probably about 1/4 the driver that his dad was and as far as I'm concerned good riddance. He'll do BETTER at Hendrick because that organization can polish a turd into something that wins simply because it can out $$$ everyone else but he still won't be phenominal.
