  1. You once were loyal to Pontiac. Something pissed you off, so now you feel outcast and have turned against the brand as a result. That was my point. (And don't try to deny it... I know your affinity for certain Pontiacs
  2. +1... Times like this are why I would never be fit to run a company like GM. I would've tore those greedy hypocrites a new ass if I had been one of those CEOs. It's hypocritical, PR, name promoting bullsh*t. And I would've blown any chance for a bailout, because it would've been time to go for the throat. (And we all know you shouldn't piss off the bank) Too effin' much
  3. 3.5 million jobs are at stake national security is at stake economic stability is at stake the future of the UAW is at stake 300 years of history is at stake (and yes, that matters as a source of morale for th country) The LAST damn thing I care about is a couple of chartered jest.
  4. I was expecting to get on here and rant about the government. But this actually sounds pretty reasonable. GM & Co. DO need a plan and FOCUS That's one of the reasons they're in this situation, is that they haven't had a real "plan" in years. That said, I still believe that all of Washington is self-serving scum that isn't worth the $h! I scrape off my boots at night.
  5. *FOG clicks on the Pontiac forum, looks at the moderately attractive G6 update* *FOG clicks on the Saab forum and replies* "Absolutley not! In fact, Saab should be killed and the money should be invested into A CERTAIN VOLUME DIVISION TO CREATE VOLUME PRODUCTS THAT PEOPLE ACTUALLY NOTICE AND THEN MIGHT WANT TO BUY. Saab is a waste of time, GM will never get back what they've invested in them. (especially now) They will never sell large amounts of cars.
  6. I LOVE IT! Kudos to Ford!!!! IMO, this is the best of the 3 cars.
  7. Wow... Loved the previous 3, HATE this one! reg, you'd better be ready to break that "polarizing styling" debate out again once this things goes on the market. Bt of course, we all know this sh*t will sell. It's "japanese" after all.
  8. Looks more like the initial Z car concept... (That everyone hated) I don't like the exterior, but man that interior is sharp!
  9. Lame X2 Still looks like it's from the 1980s except with ebay upgrades to the headlights and taillights.
  10. That they voted unanimously to deny the big 3 a bailout.
  11. I certainly will... In fact, I'll be on their doorstep applying for the top marketing position within hours of the purchase. If america wants to cut it's own throat, then I'll help sharpen the knife. The Chinese could DOMINATE the in industry with these companies and the resources they have. So, after all, I'm just being greedy at the cost of others after someone was greedy at the expense of my standard of living. If this happens, I'll tirelessly promote buying Chinese at the expense of everything else. Remember, I am loyal to these companies, not this country.
  12. F*ck Washington... I'm so over this and this country... (I'm as over america as PCS is Pontiac -- you know, once fiercely loyal, but now outcast and betrayed) I hope every damn automaker we own gets bought by the Chinese. I'll be a very loyal import buyer then.
  13. You know, I'm so f*cking tired of hearing about this.... The companies are burning BILLIONS of dollars to remain alive. In the grand scheme of things, a damn corporate jet isn't a drop in the bucket.
  14. *yawn* Yay! Another Saab "special edition" that isn't discern-able from the regular Saabs.
  15. Looks pretty impressive!
  16. Not sure about this one either... Somehow, the interior underwhelms me. It seems that the Fusion interior is nicer than this.
  17. I'm not sure about this one... I really WANT to love the new aggressions, but somehow it looks a little awkward. I'll want until I see it in person. I loved the last Fusion because it was so crisp looking. This one seems to integrate more Japanese organic crap into the design. Boo-Hiss on getting rid of the gorgeous chrome taillights in exchange for bland-o Korean looking units.
  18. From a sociological point of view, the 'american dream' was all but guranteed. But that's not the point. We we're told for years that through hard work (i.e. increased productivity) we could ELEVATE ourselves to prosperity. That's not the case now. Most americans accept the premise that 'your either born into success or your not' If that were the case, then we would not have a consumer credit industry. In 2000 I was a college kid that worked a part time job and I was approved for a $5000 credit card. Do you really think I was expected to pay that back on my salary? Hell that was half, if not more, of what I made on a yearly basis back then. I agree, a lot of the responsibility lies with the consumer. But it's reached a new level now. I didn't CHOOSE to pay my rent with a credit card a few months ago, but I had to. The average consumer makes +/- $30,000 each year. How are they supposed to save money when they have to pay rent, $4/gallon fuel prices, energy bills and food costs out of that. Americans have been conditioned (marketed) to substitute credit for savings. How many people do you know that have an "emergency credit card" Once again, my point is what once was NOT a luxury, is now considered a luxury because we've been conditioned to accept a lower standard of living. I agree. But big business is as much to blame for that as consumers are. There is a difference between "excess" and basic living necessities. Judging by your post, I don't think you've ever had to live paycheck to paycheck. If they want to keep their standard of living, then yes. What you fail to realize (and what most capitalists fail to realize) is that MORE is at stake here that a few quarters of losses and/or short term gains. This is a quality of life choice and it will take some sacrifice before the benefits are realized. But considering the alternative, it's either suffer for a little while and take our chances or suffer indefinitely.
  19. LOL, I was thinking that very same thing.
  20. I agree and traditionally I have been a strong opponent of the UAW. But, if the UAW controls GM, then the conflict is gone and if they control GM, then their asses are on the line if the company starts heading south. I think the UAW would be much more motivated if it had a direct stake in the company. And, like it or not, the UAW is the link between GM and the population and the ONLY chance they have at creating a social movement that changes buyer perception. Harley - Davidson successfully pulled this off years ago.
  21. Can't do that.... Wall Street won't shut the hell up long enough to let us... Same thing with the media and their 3 years "bankruptcy" tirade. Nah... Like most politicians, he was too busy kissing ass to fund his campaign. It's kinda like a bus driver who decides to try and drive a bus load of kindergartners while writing a thesis. Too much time, too much distraction and too little focus. All in the name of advancement of self.
  22. Just remember; every 15 year old has an opinion on the internet.
  23. I'll take my black suburban with a chronologically ordered portfolio of thrash metal and a fresh carnation on the dash. (Remember, I'm a creature of balance) Camino, I think you would be best suited as CEO. You seem calm and logical enough to put up with everyones (including my) whining.
  24. I really would like to get into this sport, but I'm not sure how to go about it.
  25. :rotflmao: I can just envision a scene where you're just sitting there shaking your head while 68 has Satty in a headlock, PCS is beating me with a stapler while uttering something in German, balthazar is yelling at smk at the top of his lungs and ocn is using company time to stalk potential mates over the internet. The new motto could be "C&G: Taking the bored out of boardroom meetings" We'd be one big, happy family though!
