Pontiac GT-37
And a lot of stuff that was just plain odd. I have a friend named Alan who ordered a Camaro new in 1969...he got the RS, the close ration for speed, and the posi rear end...but chickened out on the big motor at the last minute. So it came from GM as a close ration four speed equipped posi car with a 307...it was red..nice looking car...but slow....and a one of one car, methinks.... Alan later became blind and played Chess in blind chess tournaments....he was damn good at it...

Destiny!!!
There's a 2013 Chevy El Camino based on a Holden...that gets retro-fitted into a Pontiac ST.. Wouldn't that sort of make you the anti-Camino rather than Camino?

AZ Wrong on immigration
This is exactly why we need legal reform in this country...our legal code is a joke, and largely unenforceable. simplify the legal code, as well as the tax code, and get everyone on board, and we are in bidness....

Nude model or groping victim?
Amazing to me that the USA, which has won WWII, put a man on the moon, been the most free, fantastic society that mankind has ever created, wins wars halfway around the world, et al... Now gets sand in its collective vagina trying to put grandma on a plane. AMAZING!

True...and Pontiac could have built a plane Jane 1968 one of one green wagon with a red interior....that certainly won't bring big bucks at a collector auction...

Funny Story from the local Hyundai dealer
So I drop my seventeen year old son off at guitar Center, and cruise through the local Ford dealer...look at a few cars while my son is looking at guitars...then I slide over to the Hyundai dealer because my son wants to spend some time playing one last guitar. I'm checking out the Genesis coupe, and some guy has his two kids in the back seat (young, perhaps about 6 and 8, boy and girl). Guys wife is test driving a Sonota, and this guy is telling me how a V6 Genesis is faster than a Camaro SS or Mustang GT, and how Hyundai is the most awesomist car company ever. I'm trying hard not to LMFAO at this point... He then says that Hyundais never break...at that moment, both rear seat belts decide they ain't comin' unlatched for love or money. So this guy is just working and working to get his kids unbelted, and the salesman is working to get the kids unbelted, and the darned Geneiss is not letting go... More of that excellent Korean workmanship for you, I guess.

He's saying there is a racist element in Arizona and Arizona law. You could say the same thing about Ohio. Was washing my truck at a car wash...guy comes up and explains that there is a detail shop down the street, that my hands are white, and that they shouldn't be doing "nigger work." Nigger work is for nigger hands....your hands aren't black....give that work to a nigger..." All I wanted was a clean truck...hmmm. Ohio is an astonishingly racist place sometimes.

Just strange enough a guy like me might want to own one...

Destiny!!!
This makes real economic sense, the targetmaster motors were something like $1300 or so when I bought one from jegs once....and they come with a warranty...if the suspension was tight...a good set of used tires, a tranny fluid flush and adjustment, and some basic assembly and she could be on the road very easily in the spring.... Or by christmas if I was there to help you thrash on it....!

Pontiac GT-37
Another Pontiac I have a bizzare fetish for (as long as we are talking relatively uncommon, low production Pntiacs...) is the 1968 Pontiac GTO with the special "low performance" 400 2v motor....think it was sold as an "Economy"...gto or such. I've seen a couple cars, almost bought one once but the car I was looking at had structural damage.

Destiny!!!
Since it's matching numbers, and since a new block would be expensive...why not tear it down, re-ring and re-gasket the motor, and then put it back together? You could do a visual inspection, and you'll need to do that anyways. You can always balance and machine everything later. how much is a small block Chevy gasket set, a set of rings, and a set of bearings for a 350 anyways?

Chevy Volt's battery miles cost more than the gas ones
Actually, this is another case where higher tech could save a whole bunch. In Japan, some of the new R410 A/C systems (residential) are like 30 SEER efficiency, or something stupid...I forget how much...but I've heard/read accounts of very efficient systems. A really efficient system now in the US is like 14 seer or so.... Using energy much more wisely could cut demand and costs dramatically....and stimulate the economy. the advantage of wind is that you never need to fuel it once it's built....so once the cost is Amortized....

Excellent!...I'm glad at least somebody is getting the message....- Destiny!!!
I think just make it a basic driver... A real primo grade resto would cost a fortune on this car.....- Work, life and strangeness
Enjoy your down time....- Chevy Volt's battery miles cost more than the gas ones
In reality, this is an interesting situation... A lot of these old Coal fired plants, from what I understand, got grandfathered in under the clean air act and don't have scrubbers and such. Many of these plants are going to become obsolete, or need major major work done at some point... Lots of these plants were built in the 1940's and 1950's.... It will be interesting to see what happens...I think the actual generation cost is something like two cents a kilowatt hour if it's a coal fired plant and paid for. Carbon taxes may never come into play if our politics don't change.... ...and of course, if the price of gas goes to five and a half bucks a gallon, that also will change the dynamic. - Shutting Detroit Down...
