  1. This is the kind of vintage car I dreamed f owning as a kid, and never ended up owning.
  2. My whole thought on this car is Meh...Ford focus FTW..... VW is loosing it's soul, methinks.
  3. I respect it...I just don't like the results. And I disagree with Balthazar, the Maxima in my mind is still the least attractive Nissan.
  4. This pig makes me want to give up driving for mass transit.
  5. Fantastic...Love it...and as Mazda guy...I would take the GTI over the speed three...
  6. Balthazar...we know you want one to go with that Sienna Minivan your trading the Malibu on....
  7. I am home right now because Columbus is an ice skating rink...maybe I'll go into work later. Made my way VERY CAREFULLY up a three story 12/12 pitch roof with lots o ice to repair a make up air unit on top of a restaurant yesterday....that was FUN!
  8. Part #2... So last night...my Chevy work truck had a blow out as I was driving home from work. I left my good shop style floor jack at the shop, where I was going to do some brake work on another of our company trucks. Called AAA... Took AAA an hour and a half to change a tire...two of the Chinese made jacks they use malfunctioned...they sent out an actual tow truck just to lift the rear of my Astro Cargo van (with not a lot of stuff in it...)...and even then it took them over an hour. Un effing believable....I'm not mad...I just find the level of the stupidity from last night and tonight amazing.
  9. So tonight, I'm surfing the web, talking to my boss on the phone, and getting ready to start reading an article about Planes in a woodworking magazine. Get a call from my 17year old son...he is about to be charged with a federal crime... Seems he and a friend took a BB gun into a field, next to our subdivision, with his friend...they had the permission of the owner of the field to use it. Someone called and complained, and the boys had photographs of a few prominent political figures they were going to be using as targets...both Republicans and Democrats, lest any of the C and G people get sand in their vagina over this one. So apparently it is as much of a federal crime to shoot a photograph of a person with a BB gun as to shoot the actual person with a 30-06 rifle. The local cops actually wanted to call in the feds for this! One would think this would be protected under freedom of speech. Only thing that saved him was that he was a minor. 18 and they were going to press charges and he was going to go to jail for sure. Cops wanted to keep the BB gun as evidence in a federal crime...I talked them into giving it back so I could give it to my twelve year old...who is much smarter than my 17 year old. What an utter joke...and I asked if urinating on a photograph would be considered the same as shooting it. Was told that yes, urinating on the photograph of a federal official is now a federal crime, and not protected under freedom of speech. Amazing!
  10. Fantastic choice, sir!
  11. I actually went skiing with some guys when I was in Japan once...was riding the bullet train...was springtime weather on one side of the mountain...train goes into a tunnel...snow like this on the other side. All of the locals laughed at us when they saw our reaction to all of that snow...
  12. It will out tow and out haul your Duramax diesel, silly...
  13. Tie two G-3's together, have the first four wheel drive eight wheeled G6 (G3 plus G3 = G6)...it would be a one of one eight cylinder Pontiac... Just think of how successful This was...and we know Cubical loves F1...just think of how jealous he will be... ...and you can have two stereo's...one for you and one for Arkus... What's to loose? You could even build a one of one G6 Sport struck to go with your coming G8 Sport truck... Thinking car = 4 wheels is just too far inside the box...
  14. More good advice that will go in the crap can....
  15. BINGO! It was how I wound up with my $3200 Chrysler Concorde...one of the best cars I owned....I drove it another 100,000 very tough miles and sold it for $300.... Chris
  16. My thoughts-Astro cargo van...still a great work truck, unbreakable, other than idler arms...they never need much. How about a V6 Mustang or Firebird....? Mustang would be easier to repair....parts are cheaper...RWD....very affordable in the 1999-2004 body style...you can find them...pretty much everywhere....
  17. My additional thoughts- More "pure versions of a few of my fav. cars. the third gen Miata is a little heavy and not quite as nimble, the MINI became a little bit uglier and more awkward, and the C6 is a fabulous car, but the C5, esp. the C5 ZO6, is a little more user friendlily and a little bit more Unique in the Z06 package as a C5 car....the titanium muffler and other good stuff Gm dropped for the C6 Z06...
  18. You guys are going to kill me but... Chevrolet Astro cargo van...they are the cat's ass as a work vehicle, decent fuel economy, can tow, can haul, impossible to destroy without explosives and a cliff to push them off of... They hold their resale well... Mazda RX-8, just for it's uniqueness... S2000 The older Ford focus, with the SVT variant...a very decent small car... Mercury Maruader....didn't sell well, but unique RWD vehicle....
  19. Riiighhhttt......just like the Miata is...inefficient.... That being said, such a car as RWD would not go over well....as in winter climates, the people that would be a large part of the demographic wouldn't like them....
