  1. I think one real question is how to keep the level of posting at a high, reasonably rational level if we get a flood of new members. I can't stand the forums that are a bunnch of childish one liners aimed at other brands and such.... A few of the Jeep Forums are Okay, Miata net is okay...but most automotive forums are pretty much crap.
  2. A slide in camper would be a fantastic idea....although I like the idea of a vintage Airstream to pull behind it. Insted of you and me and a dog named boo...it would be You and Zora and a dog named Arkus.... Keep us posted, bob.
  3. Agree with CSpec....
  4. Anything from Honda right now, esp. the Crosstour, or really anything from Acura. The Juke can join the Cube, Godzilla the GTR, and the Maxima was truely awful automotive deisngs that are "Homers" The hideous new Mazda three...
  5. Ahhh...what could ahve been...as a guy who grew up in Wisconsin, all I can say is that I have some affection for AMC. To what could have been, should have been, and never was...girls I never dated, cars I knever owned, places I never went....cars that were never built. In an alternative universe somewhere, it would be cool if these were in production.
  6. Base car to base car, the Golf is a very different car than the Cruze..... Chris
  7. For 100Kish cars...keep the Mustang. If anything...find a relaly nice, older fulsize Chevrolet or GMC truck. Would tow a camping trailer, a boat, a race car, a Camaro project (three Camaro's would suit you fine) or whatever else you would want. Parts will be available for Chevrolet trucks until humans go extinct, there are a million of them in pick and pulls for cheap replacements or crash parts, fuel economy isn't that bad on say about 1992 up... And it would be a comfotable vehicle for a big guy, better than the TA, the slowstang, the Foci, or most other cars. Take your time, pay cash, and hold onto it forever. Chris
  8. Things are looking up for Chryco, thankfully!
  9. I'll gladly give it one. Croc is one of our most rational posters, and I thought this post was fabulous!
  10. Actually the third gen Prius looks better IMHO than the first or second generation cars. The only thing I see wrong with the Cruze right now is pricing....a little more detail in the front end maybe... But for what it is, I like both designs. And I like the Volt styling MUCH better than the Prius...for sure... Actually the third gen Prius looks better IMHO than the first or second generation cars. 11. Interesting discussion, thanks for your replies, guys...
  12. A rational question by both Olds and Camino...
  13. I would lean towards keeping the Mustang, it's a known quantity and a ragtop....after that...the SVT...after that...just keep the stang.
  14. More than a down rating...let's just say that every car maker has had their share of crap, including GM and Toyota. VW....has had theirs as well. Guys become a brotherhood by overcoming things, which is why guys who have been in the military, or been at war, or on an athletic team together are such life time friends. At the risk of offending Dodgefan and Vipes...look at how close the VW community and the Mopar community are. It's sort of a shared pain sort of thing. Just like all of the vintage Mustang guys who talk about how they finally got all of the rust out of their cars, and how they finally got them to stop leaking during a mild rain storm....
  15. It's the one way you can get the HD truck you really want, without loans or anything else. Would make one heck of a tow rig when that low miles 72 becomes a race car.....or the Jag breaks down....
  16. I think we have the guys, we have the will, we havethe creativity...I already think this is one of the best sources of stuff on the net. Easiest thing I think to do....we should all post more, based on the stuff 98 Regency puts up as links from autoblog or whaterver. This may cast a wider net for further discussion with new members or people browsing the site.
  17. Looks like Chryco might be heading in the right direction, which would be fantastic....
  18. Not sure if they are quie as abysmal as people think, however...a Cruze would be about as reliable as gravity....and a Jetta....not so much.
  19. Ikea grade isn't always bad...as an architect, perhaps you ahve heard of Sarah Saskansah, the author of "Not so Big House." She used Ikea cabinets in her kitchen...saved some money for some cool stuff elsewhere. Regardless...I would still...even as a VW fan...thinbk about buying a Cruze over a Jetta, as I think a Cruze would be more reliable.
  20. I hope it doesn't sell...I think it would be soo cool to see that thing back on the road...
  21. Bingo! I do refrigeration/HVAC, as well as electrical. Almost all of the work I can get any more is in resteraunts...kind of hard to outshift serving beer to India.
  22. This sounds promising...I may have to drive over and buy you breakfast at the Hot Spot again....
  23. A lot of Vendors are going out of biz with the economy, in both the sport compact and resto markets. Chris
  24. ...this would be correct, and why our country is going into the crap hole rapidly. We need smart people who are actually building things and doing things....
  25. If you know someone who owns a body shop or a towing company, they can often get titles for vehicles they have "stored"..and in Ohio they can get a clean, non salvage title. Another avenue to pursue....
