  1. Not sure tapshift is all its set up to be... However, LOVE the color and the wheels. Chris
  2. regfootball... Just get an Astra when you can. You will love this car. Not sure why it never got any love in the US. And then Autocross it...at least once. Drive it at the limit and you'll know just how good that damned chasis is. Chris
  3. That Patriot Blue is jsut such a kick ass color! I thought your Jeep was like a gold or champaigne or some really mellow color. Like it MUCH better knowing it's blue. Nice looking ride, Moltar. Chris
  4. Actually I think the original cherokee is one of the cooler veicles of the 20th century. They just stopped building them last year in China IIRC. The Grand Cherokee is a damned good vehicle. Too bad Chryco never built it with a Cummins....or did they? IIRC for about a year or so they came diesel. These things will go ANYwhere...stock or near stock Jeeps will do the Rubicon,I'd love to see someone elses vehicles do the same stuff off road. Anyhow...damn near indestructable vehicles. Until you drain the crankcase and fill it with sodium silica and water. Chris
  5. Ford Hyundai and VW are the ones to watch IMHO. Ford is our leading domestic right now Hyundai from the far east VW from europe. I think once fuel prices go up again, the VW diesel thing will bring them a lot of sales. Ford will do well with its current lineup, better with the new Focus and Fiesta. Hyundai with the assurance program and warranty will do very well. Chris
  6. I just ran an errand with my wife and I drove through the lot at Toyota West. About 65 cars, mostly domestic. Including a silver Aurora, a Bonneville SSEI (in that really nice dark green on tan combo GM had for these cars) and a couple really nice trucks. What does Toyota offer that even comes close to an Aurora? Black Monte 2 door at the Honda dealer next door. Honda dealer has 40+ ca, all but 2 are domestic. Also decent black Lincoln Mark 8 two door. VW dealer across the street has a similar number of cars, as does the Kia dealer. Actually the Kia dealer is prob. closer to 30. But the Kia dealer does have a really nice second gen S-10 Blazer two door, blue clean 4x4. Ohhh, and LOTS more Jeeps. I'm actually really proud that so many Ohio built vehicles have served their owners that well and that long. Lots of these jeeps are high mile utnits and seem to be doing fine. Also amazed that so many Jeep owners are trading foreign. Chris
  7. Did I mention brain fade? I meant Passport, sorry! That Isuzu based SUV Honda brought out in the 90's...THAT one... Chris
  8. Enjoy your wife's new car. And nice 4 Dr Silverado also. Much nicer vehicle than I'll probably ever afford... Chris
  9. Interesting how popular the Grand Cherokee is in this program. There are a BUNCH on dealer lots around here!
  10. It does just suck doesn't it, YJ? The world is now safe for the Sante Fe Crosssover. Meaning Hyundai can sell more cars because people will forget what a real car is like. Chris
  11. A white Cadillac just like the spray painted one showed up at (where else?) my local Hyundai dealer. Along with: Suburban in near perfect shape blue on blue extended cab Dakota 4wd Truck, nice A fullsize Dodge 4WD Ext. cab, maroon, clean Another Amazing Grand Cheorkee And too much else to mention. Hernnstein, the local Hyundai peoiple, claimed in Thursdays paper to have taken in over 80 cars. I believe it. Overflow lot is full, bact i full, side lot is full. One saving grace-a bunch of Honda Pilots and Isuzu Rodeos. Sadly, another nice 2 door Cutty also showed up on the dead line. All of those people...owners of a new Hyundai! Amazing. Chris
  12. Actually, I can see both Croc's and Satty's point of view. The biggest problem is that we don't do anything with the cars that come through Pick and Pull. We have a good "Pick and Pull" yard here on the south end of Columbus, and there are a couple of other good yards here I go to for parts. You would be amazed at the stuff that comes through there. Mildly damaged 4th gen LS1 cars, Aurora's, Allante's, Reatta's, FWD cuttry ragtops, some really cool stuff. I need another junkayrd thread for modern GM stuff. You guys would be AMAZED at the cars that get crushed.
  13. I could see the Renault thing happening. Chris
  14. Three things of interest....coming home from work last night. First of all... nice 78-79 Olds Cutlass, clean but not showroom clean, silver, decent. 88 Ford Mustang foxbody hatchback, nothing exceptional but not rusted, modded, or destroyed either. These cars have almost disappeared from the road around here. A Caprice wagon, Maroon, Yellow tribal style flames, with two lime green surfboards on top and 22" wheels...Oh...and a high rise cowl induction hood. Quite the odd car, but it almost half ass worked in a half ass sort of way. Oh, and make that 4. Really good looking Solstice...white...black top....nicely polished wheels. Chris
  15. A really nice one in black shows up at our local Autocrosses. Guy who drives it is a really nice guy. ...and actually I am going to have to disagree with you guys here. While there are Japanese cars I like, and while I am more open to foreign cars than most of the rest of the guys here... I more or less hate this car. Not in the same way I hate say Kia, but I just don't like it at all. Just my own subjective opinion, and I'll be happy if DF adds one to the fleet. But...ughhh. Dash and interior is terrible, IMHO. Chris
  16. For some unknown even to God reason I'm having faith GM will get this one right. However, VW and Hyundai are on the rise bigtime, Ford is bringing in two very good heavy hitters, (Focus and Fiesta) Chryco has Fiat pushing it to build excellent small cars, Honda and Toyota aren't going anywhere, Nissan will remain popular... It is going to be a very crowded field. And carmakers know the price of gas will never go down so they will continue to dump big bucks into this. So I wish them the best of Luck. And I have high hopes. If they get it right I may even buy one. But a whole lot remains to be seen. Chris
  17. Agrred, 'blu. We live right down the road from the Ohio Auto Auction, the larget auto auction in Ohio. There is a car lot at the corner where I stop and kick tires once in awhile. A twenty year old Cadillac is still held together better than a 2 year old Kia. Hyundai has made some progress, but if you ask me toyota and Honda have regressed, and Nissan "never was all that" to begin with. BTW, even a MUCH nicer cadillac than the white one with spray paint at my Local Hyundai dealer. Chris
  18. I don't hate our government so much as think the plan is misguided. Why does my local Lincoln-Mercury dealer have 2 CFC cars and my local Hyundai dealer is pushing 35-40? Lots of families that need new cars are going to get rid of a POS. Just hate to see something like a Roadmaster die... Chris
  19. 5 years of wage slavery to a bank at $409 a month in 60 not so easy..."easy payments..." Chris
  20. The Hundai Santa Fe is a POS. She will be sorry she did that methinks. Chris
  21. I know I sure would! Esp. if they still had the yellow for the sky redline... Chris
  22. Volvo's are damned good cars. Shame that one had to die. Chris
  23. Program is for 84 and up. And TED, thanks for the videos. Chris
  24. Glad to see things working out, mr Balthazar! Hopefully you and Mrs. balthazar can "break in" the new Malibu while it is in the garage and the boys are sleeping! (just kidding...sort of.) Good luck to you! Chris
