  1. As bad as it sounds I'd rather have a 72 Hurst Olds Pace car replica than the 'benz. Probably cheaper also. Methinks the boys have had a sexual rite of passage awhile ago, probably more worried about wheels now. Chris
  2. Nice to discuss on an internet forum, but the Camaro is not going to get any lighter. The cost of fuel is going to go wayyy up a petro supplies go down and China and India get into the car act. Get your Camaro now, in a short while it will be gone with the wind. There will be no 2018 or 2020 Camaro's, methinks. Chris
  3. Sounds right to me, actually Camino. Chris
  4. Awesome...I'm driving to Philly in the spring and I want to ride in that thing! Chris
  5. Today at lunch, a blue and white 59 Corvette parked at McDonalds. Not restored, looked like a well loved survivor. Cool! Out with Oldsmoboi tonight, went to get a sandwich with Olds and my daughter Joanna...we saw a beautiful blue Charger when we pulled back into the lot at Olds hotel. Beautiful Z3 ragtop rolling north on 104 in northern Ross County. Cobalt SS A blue 2010 Camaro out in front of Dave Gill Chevrolet at Broad and Hamilton, and another one on US 23 south of Circleville. Chris
  6. I was just tellind Oldsmoboio about a neat old Toronado that lives in a garage not far from where I live. Right on the street where the olds lives, lives my son Joel's friend Lucas. Lucas just got a Mercedees 230 Kompressor (think I've got that right) as a 16th birthday present. New. Wish I was that lucky when I was sixteen.... Chris
  7. Good to see the belle flying! Nice cars...LOVE the Boss 302, I almost bought a Mach 1 that year and color when I bought my 55 Chevrolet. Love the Buick also...actually both of them but esp. the 1960! Chris
  8. BMW does seem to have lost focus as of late... Chris
  9. Also, good looking lifted Chevrolet mid 90's Truck, Regular Cab, maybe running 35's. NICE looking redheaded female driving it, as I get closer (truck is in a gas station) I notice a can of Skoal hanging out of her back pocket. She turned around and had a large wad of Chewing tobacco in her mouth! A country girl for sure. I like country females...but not THAT country.... Chris
  10. I do like the SRX myself. Interesting ragtops out and about: Nice maroon early style (1962 or so) Corvair convertible, family with a good looking dog and two kids out for a spin. Nice red MGB, followed by one in light blue that looked fabulous. A black S-10 second gen made into a roadster/ragtop. I normally don't care for this...but this one was well done and looked good. Fullsize 75ish Pontiac Convertible 34 Ford Roadster, Street Rod, Yellow... Lotus Elise with the Top section removed Four really good looking females in a pretty beat up Five Ohhh Foxbody Mustang. Nice looking 76ish Corvette, red, not a convertible but the T-Tops were out adn the driver had a big smile. Great looking C4 Corvette, maroon, top down, older couple driving it. Chris
  11. And also glad to see your thinking of buying something that is not a "normal" car, just like GMCTG did with that big caddy. Chris
  12. I like it and like that it is a diesel. Love the color, love the condition. If you need help getting the paintwork done I know a few really good guys who are really fair. And if you want to do a WVO (Waste Veggie Oil) conversion, you could do that to. I know that you are a landlord...any of your tennants work in a fast food resteraunt? Lots of VW TDI guys run WVO set ups, not that hard. Know lots of people who run it in big trucks also. Chris
  13. ...and yes a 94 Integra would be currently illeagal to build and sell in the USA. It didn't meet the 2003 Crash test safety ratings, same as the prev. gen camaro, which is why it went away. Don't get me wrong, Dwight, I would bring back the 69 Camaro and the Integra Type R if I could, and they would be here tomorrow. It just ain't gonna happen. The other thing to think about is insurance cost. Without that kind of safety rating a Camaro might not be marketable, as no one could afford insurance. Chris
  14. The Elise is also a niche market car sold in very low numbers and it costs 50 large. The Camaro will have to sell to a lot of secretarys and such to be viable. Do you have 60 Grand to buy a '10 Camaro? Chris
  15. I drove a similar car (it's Chevelle brethren) through high school. Chris
  16. Actually our local library has regular tournaments. My eleven year old son regularly beats adults who have been playing for quite some time, and can beat most of the teens in the library chess league. I'm going upstairs to take an after work shower, after which I'm going to probably get owned by an eleven year old. And hell, I was on the Chess Team in high school. Chris
  17. Anyone else interested in a Central Ohio get together? If you can't make it Thurs or Friday, I would like to meet any other GM fanatics that want to get together and talk about cars and life. As the old saying goes, let's do lunch! Chris
  18. We may wish to close this thread and start a new one in the politics section. Thank you everyone for your concern and response about my son. He's had a rough summer... But he's doing really much better at the moment, so I am pretty happy for him right now. Chris
  19. You might try Chess and like it, Cubical... About to play a few rounds with my younger son. Chris
  20. Nice Nice Integra pic...LOVE IT! I don't mind Integras per se, but some of the ricer boys can be idiots. Chris
  21. ...so I'm talking to a guy I know who runs a MINI Cooper S and was at a track day at Nelson Ledges, which is up by Cleveland. Anyhow, kid in an Acura Integra comes up to him before the open track event and says in broken english "you...very old man...you fat...have very...very slow car...you see me...you get the phuc out of my way...you hear old man..." About ten laps into the session the MINI driver laps the modified Integra. About antoehr 7 laps and the MIMI laps the Integra again. After 5 more laps, the MINI passes the Integra to lap it a third time. After the hot lapping session the guy I know goes up to the kid and says, in mock broken english... "What's wrong with your car...is it brokee?" Kid was PISSED! Chris
  22. Kids...when they are little they step on your toes, when they are big they step on your heart. Just don't blame yourself. I've said this before but... If you think your a good parent...have another kid, you'll think otherwise. If you think your a bad parent...have another kid, you'll think otherwise. Children make their own choices, sometimes there is nothing that you can do about it. Just like my son's friend. Chris
  23. Not holding my breath on the Cruze. HHR has the advan of being 4 doors. Aside from racing, I don't like sunroofs because they leak, dammit! Doesn't matter if its an Audi or a Porsche or a Nissan or a Honda or a Chevy. A sunroof is a deal breaker for me because I don't want water in the car. If I wanted water in the car I would buy a vintage Mustang Convertible. The VW GTI thing has the disadvantadge of having a rather immature owners group in some ways. Go check out VW Vortex and the Car Lounge and you will swear that you are back in 7th grade. Chris
  24. Not just yes...but HELL YES to a boat tail riv....beautiful car! Chris
  25. reg, there are no good answers. MINI right now has a problem with a cold start knock in their motors. Go to Northamericanmotoring.com. to read about it. Until they solve that...meh. Hopefully they solve it...but they are on their 4th "fix" now. Focus...if they come out with an SVT version...hmmm...but your right about the kinetic angry fish thing. I would have to really talk hard to get my wife to buy the styling on the Focus. She is not a fangirl of it... HHR SS...I would have been tempted for 18K in blue. Too many in red and black, Hyperv6 and I have already had that little talk. Perhaps a little heavy up top for a track day or an autocross. Plus...you can't delete the sunroof with an HHR SS, can you? That would be a deal breaker for me as I do not want a sunroof or an automatic for any reason or under any conditions. A new GTI at four grand for the whole car with the DSG would still be a big "no" for me. Methinks I am heading for GTI ownership, which is slightly problematic...but may be my best choice... Chris
