  1. What do we do now...dig in and spend the next 20 years trying to undo the damange of the last eight. We have hard work ahead of us boys. Chris
  2. It will be interesting to see what happens with actual policy over the next few months and years. Chris
  3. I am optomistic also. Chris
  4. The end of America as we know it isn't a bad thing per se. It is time for our nation to evolve. Chris
  5. I wonder how Rush Limbaugh will spin this tomorrow. Chris
  6. No, I won't either. If we can get the Republican party back on track, we can have a great democracy. Get rid of the core values of the Bush/Chenny admin and we can have an excellent nation. There are lots of great people who are Republicans, I wish the best to the Republican party. Chris
  7. Good luck, and enjoy the lines... Chris
  8. +1 bigtime. Chris
  9. I (obvously) am a fan of the Jetta TDI, but $ for $ your operating costs will still be less with a Cobalt. ...and if your going to spend a little more on a "midsize car" the malibu competes nicely with the Jetta, IMHO. The Accord 2 door is a good one to watch, to see how it sells IMHO. It is a nice product...I kinda didn't notice it/like it much until Drew/Oldsmoboi started talking about it. But I'd still rather have a TDI Jetta or a Bu than a 2 door Accord. Chris
  10. Hummus is wonderful. We used to have a member of a local reading club who brought home made hummus to Context, our local Science Fiction reading convention. Chris
  11. +1 for the 1941. Chris
  12. gm4life, I am glad that you are a fellow midwesterner. And while our politics are 180 degrees from each other, I will say a couple more nice things about her. As the father of three girls, I am really glad to see a woman in her position. As a laid back redneck flannel and blue jeans kind O' guy, I am glad to see some one from "outisde of the belt way" in her position. And as a horny male, I think she looked great as miss Alaska in that red swimsuit. Chris
  13. There feally is no limit to human stupidity, PCS. Chris
  14. Maybe we need to fire the whole Toronto GM sales force, then, right? Chris
  15. I would support a gas tax of $1.00/1.50 per gallon, maybe more. It would be the most patriotic thing that we could do. Chris
  16. GM has good product, and you are right, GM4Life, they should be looking better. Like Sigen said, this makes me sick to my stomach. Chris
  17. Had a GM crate motor in my 55 Chev...they ROCK! We need to drive to NY and shoot the bastards that parted out that 'maro. Chris
  18. ...and as I've said before, my older son Joel goes to a mostly African American school for the arts. Even amoung the african-american teen girls, she has her fanboi's (fangirls?) Chris
  19. You would be suprised, though, Satty. We went on a scouting campout this weekend (my son Daniel and I). Most of the fathers and leaders in our scouting group are arch conservitives. Palin is a Goddess amoung these people. The other day at the store I saw bumper stickers on several minivans and pickups with the logo SARAH! and McCain for President, or Sarah 2012, or whatever. She has her appeal to the far right. Mostly people who dislike/distrust McCain. Chris
  20. Having spent a considerable amount of time in the former Soviet Union, I can tell you that the Prius lacks the basic goodness of a crowded Moscow bus in the middle of winter. We should be ashamed of the fact that we as a species have built such a steaming pile as the Prius. Chris
  21. G6, CTS and Malibu are all up...but only 330 Solstice Sold? and Astra is under 10K units for the year? Trucks off 25%? Wow...Ouch... Chris
  22. Sorry to hear she's gone, longtooth. And yes, we are going to ahve a big mess to fix up. Newt Gingirch was on NPR this A.M., and even he was blasting the "current administration" for its failings. He said that it was going to take 15 years or so to undo the last 8 IIRC. Chris
