  1. In all seriousness...you have a really cool mind, you need to try your hand at writing Sci-Fi or Fantasy. Seriously. With your understanding of people and what makes them work from your years in the car biz, I bet it would be a good book. Chris
  2. There is a Jesus for President sign at the exit ramp from Rt 23 onto I-270 on the north end of town. Ohio is full of Morons just like you describe... Chris
  3. Impressive! Thanks, Camino. Chris
  4. Also, to add one thought to the debate..TDI rules! People in my local TDI group are both Democrats and Republicans, so I guess it has less political baggage than the Prius. Chris
  5. +1 Although watching them drive down the road is about as boring as watching a walrus take a dump. Chris
  6. Or visually challenged...but you own a couple of great Mustangs so we'll forgive you. Chris
  7. No, your wrong. given the fact that Satty drives a Prius, I am quite sure that his girlfriends vibrator gets quite the workout. Sorry Satty, that one was just too easy. Chris
  8. GM needs to build Halo cars like the Solstice. I want a solstice really badly, it is about 1 of 5 GM cars that I really like and would consider buying. Watching a Solstice GXP show GM tail-light at the last Auto-cross to a bunch of WRX-STI's, S2000's and the like convinced me once again that GM can be truely great. They can build both cool cars and daily drivers. And I agree, I'd rather see them die than sell only rebadged Kia trash. Chris
  9. Actually having owned a Cutlass from the era...the midsized Gm cars didn't do badly at all. I got 21-22, sometimes 23 with my car. Not bad at all for a 307 4V car. Chris
  10. We are just in so much trouble if we elect that assclown McCain. I used to really like him, but I think he's sold his soul to the neocons in hope of becoming president. Chris
  11. Mine is named Kim also, a common name for the era, just like Linda was common for girls born in the 40's and 50's, and Britney and Kelsy are common for girls born today. Chris
  12. I'm in an ungodly state of lust over the 'camino in the background. Glad your in a financial state to be able to save these cars. Really sad when you see 25 68-72 midsize GM cars show up at a show and you get 1 car from the 73-77 era. I remember the 73-77 cars as new cars my parents friends and enighbors bought. They were not the fire breathing monsters that an LS6 Chevelle. GS skylark, or ram air GTO were, but they rode well, ran forever with minimal repairs, and looked good doing it. LOTS of good boyhood memories here. Please, please...keep the pics coming. Chris
  13. Rational common sense has left car buying, just as it has left voting, sex, and every other area of our lives. I really don't know how you deal with idiots day in and day out without loosing it right on the showroom floor. Chris
  14. Usually when I canvas for Obama I lead with the question "what issue bothers you the most/interests you the most" with this years election. It gets people open and talking. I would put about every liberal psychotic bumper sticker there is on my car, but my wife might not like it. But she is voting Democratic for the first time this year. She really dislikes McCain! Chris
  15. Don't get me started. I know of three active Ohio Science teachers who think the earth is 6000 years old. My son's eighth grade science teacher said that the theory that seasons are caused by the tilt of the earth and the earth's rotation around the sun was just plain wrong, and she said that if Science could be in error about the cause of seasons it could also be in error about the age of the earth. When I went to the library today, i parked next to a Minivan that had the bumper sticker "Answers In Genesis-Taking back Dinosaurs" Answers in genesis publishes books for kids where kids are shown playing with dinosaurs in a parklike setting. Is it any wonder that as a nation we elect idiots like Bush 41, Bush 43, Reagan, et al? These are the people with McCain signs in their yards. In Darwin and Reason... Chris
  16. I know this post is 2+ years old but A big +1! Chris
  17. Given that EVERY British Sports Car enthusiast has told me to NEVER buy a British car...maybe his wining is a little misplaced. However, compared to the G6 and the Mustang, it is no comparison. I'd buy a clean older Sebring regtop for $1500 for my teenaged daughter to drive, but I wouldn't pay $30,000 for the Sebring. Clarkson was in some ways more charitable towards the car than I would have been. Chris
  18. Let's hope this holds until November 4th! Chris
  19. QUOTE (moltar @ Oct 23 2008, 08:50 PM) I drove an early Miata once with the top up. It was painful.. I'm too big. Though I fit perfectly in a Boxster. I just fit, but have to put the top down when I auto-cross because I don't fit with a crash helmet on. Steve, one of my Miata club friends fits in a Miata fine with a crash helmet, and he is 6'4. I still can'[t figure THAT one out. Chris
  20. ...also, my wife drives a Scion xB, first generation. I drove it to work once, and Francis my co worker said "hell, I'm a lesbian and damn near blind and even I wouldn't drive that thing." My wife likes boxy cars, such as the element, old Volvo's, eighties BMW's, etc. Go figure? Chris
  21. ...also, pulled into a burger joint at 2 ayem when I had my 66 fastback Mustang, and a bunch of guys (drunk out of their minds) couldn't stop talking about that "sweet 68 thunderbird" Chris
  22. I pulled up at work in my Miata, and I am not a small guy. Joe, my co worker called out "hell, that looks like an elephant riding a gnat! Chris
