  1. Given that EVERY British Sports Car enthusiast has told me to NEVER buy a British car...maybe his wining is a little misplaced. However, compared to the G6 and the Mustang, it is no comparison. I'd buy a clean older Sebring regtop for $1500 for my teenaged daughter to drive, but I wouldn't pay $30,000 for the Sebring. Clarkson was in some ways more charitable towards the car than I would have been. Chris
  2. Let's hope this holds until November 4th! Chris
  3. QUOTE (moltar @ Oct 23 2008, 08:50 PM) I drove an early Miata once with the top up. It was painful.. I'm too big. Though I fit perfectly in a Boxster. I just fit, but have to put the top down when I auto-cross because I don't fit with a crash helmet on. Steve, one of my Miata club friends fits in a Miata fine with a crash helmet, and he is 6'4. I still can'[t figure THAT one out. Chris
  4. ...also, my wife drives a Scion xB, first generation. I drove it to work once, and Francis my co worker said "hell, I'm a lesbian and damn near blind and even I wouldn't drive that thing." My wife likes boxy cars, such as the element, old Volvo's, eighties BMW's, etc. Go figure? Chris
  5. ...also, pulled into a burger joint at 2 ayem when I had my 66 fastback Mustang, and a bunch of guys (drunk out of their minds) couldn't stop talking about that "sweet 68 thunderbird" Chris
  6. I pulled up at work in my Miata, and I am not a small guy. Joe, my co worker called out "hell, that looks like an elephant riding a gnat! Chris
  7. Agreed on the VP thing! Chris
  8. Don't worry, you won't be getting the keys anytime soon! You can cruise around with your girlfriends in your Hyundai Sonata with the wing and the dubs...I want to drive a more "manly" car. Besides, it would still be better looking than almost anything else on our block! Chris
  9. I was wondering the same thing myself, Mr 'biz. Chris
  10. But that's how the Republican party Neocons stay around, by manipulating people and there fears. Which is why hardcore religion and the Neocon Republican right get along sooo well together. And yes, Rush is an Idiot...but he has millions of idiots that listen to him and vote. Chris
  11. Nothing wrong with owning a nice beater. One of our clients owns a 5 Series BMW that he bought new and is really anal about keeping nice. His Wife has a Benz about like Sixty Eights that she bought new and loves. She is a stewardess for Delta and he is a building manager. They also have a Cavalier. Perfect airport car when she flies out of town for a few days, and he can haul a coumpound miter saw or a couple of Sawzalls or whatever without having to get the bimmer dirty. They've had the Cavalier for ten years and its doing great. Chris
  12. I would be interested in a Track Package car, like the one you spec'd, set up for SCCA autocross. The Honda boys were pissed when they got their asses handed to them by a Solstice at the last auto-X, maybe we can make the Honda guys see even MORE GM tail light. chris
  13. The LH cars IMHO don't have good resale value AT ALL, though. Going to the local pick-and -pull to help a guy pull a hood and fender for a Fox body stang, I noticed a bunch of LH cars, many of them newer than 2000 and a few of them with under 100k on the clock. Guy at the yard said they were crushing them whole, there was very little demand for the cars or their parts. At another yard I was getting some other parts, and another LH car came in, clean, ran, was crushed before they had even pulled the lic. plates. I've seen the FWD letter cars in decent shape sell for under 2k around here. Great design...no one wants them. The RWD cars, OTOH, seem to bring a pretty good resale. Lower sales, but a more desireable car. Chris
  14. Florida should be Obamas saving grace, as a lot of older voters are sick about their 401K's an a lot of Hispanics are pissed with McCain about immigration. God, I hope Obama wins. I can't wait for this thing to be over. Chris
  15. Are the parts still available through GM to turn a regular third gen Camaro Z-28 into a 1LE clone? I've seen a few third gen Z cars in decent shape at decent prices, and am still thinking about buying one. Anyone know about the aluminium driveshaft, etc, for the conversion? Chris
  16. Again, I am just SO happy to see this thing being put back on the road. Thanks for the pics, they are a "pick me up" (pun not intended) after a bad day. Saw a really nice, solid, rust free 73 big body El-Camino undergoing restoration (taking a walk with my daughter in a different neighborhood.) Thought of you when I saw that. Chris
  17. Given our current economy, the #1 selling transportation device in three years will have four legs and $h! on the road. Chris
  18. Sad how much support there is for McCain here in Ohio, though. He may loose the election if he takes Ohio, but McCain still has LOTS of support here. Chris
  19. Sad, really. No one really wants to think about how bad our economy has really become.... Chris
  20. At that price point, it IS within my budget...and I AM going to be in the market. I think I'm going to ahve to change my username to something like CAMROGUY in a few months...amazing car! Chris
  21. Actually saw 3 nice old Coronet Convertibles down in Circleville this last weekend. Nice to see Mopars being preserved. Chris
  22. +1 Although McCain is back on top in Ohio according to the latest polls, and he is up in Florida also. It ain't over till the fat lady sings. Chris
  23. Sometimes it takes awhile for a new car to grow on you. I like the new Camaro much more than when I first saw the concept. Chris
  24. Actually if something happened to my wife, I would WANT to find a single mom, as I love kids. to each his own, I guess. But having kids is an attraction to dating older females for me, I would guess. Chris
