  1. I am going to go see it. Chris
  2. I got to ride along in that thing when I wasn't running...it is ungodly fast. Power of a Firebird or a Vette in a car that weighs not a lot more than a Honda Goldwing...hmmm...
  3. It didn't offend me either...I know all of you guys really care about what happens to our country. I was just amused that someone else "got in trouble" for a change. Chris
  4. Here are a set of cool pics from our last autocross. Audi is the car I was talking about in the other threads... Last picture of the Catherham-boy standing next to the car is my son Joel, I am standing behind the car and Scott, the cars owner is standing on the drivers side. The kid in the passenger seat of the Mustang is also Joel...we have renamed him Pooch the ride mooch! ...and everytime I see that Milano go through the corners, I think of Paulino (Italian member of C and G, Italian car, go figure) But check out the link if you want, my friend Eric took the pics. Chris http://forum.miata.net/vb/showthread.php?t=302397
  5. But you didn't post the idiotic post that got it closed. Chris
  6. Yes, they would. However, it is still a MUCH better car than say the corolla, which is still selling. Chris
  7. Driving home from work today, I was passed by a late model Camry..painted medium metallic Subaru blue, with a big assed wing, STI stickers, a fart can exhaust, SUBARU decals on the windshield and sides, and a body kit. ...and yes it was a Camry, not the current WRX Amazing. One can only hope this was a movie stunt car for stand in duty for someone smart enough not to destroy a real WRX. Chris
  8. On the other hand, it is really cool that cars like the Z06 C6 are ungodly fast and pollute about a hundredth of what their brethren from the sixties did. Without pollution laws we might not have modern engene management systems, modern Fuel Injection, etc. I like both old and new cars, thank you very much. Cars and the environment can co exist, contrary to people on both the left and right saying they can't. Chris
  9. The Astra is a great car, we can just write off its lack of sales to Americans being dumbasses. Chris, (current resident of dumf@#kistan.)
  10. We may disagree about the next president, but we agree on Toyota... Chris
  11. Does anybody still want an H2? Seems like yesterday that was the vehicle to own... Chris
  12. I think it was an S5 that shoed up at our last autocross...it had a V8. Amazing car... Chris
  13. I would say yes to a beater, but get a better beater. I picked up a 3k, amazingly clean Chrysler Concorde about 6 or 7 years ago, drove it for 3 years-80k, and then sold it for $350. A $3000 car that is clean and trouble free is better than a $500 or $1000 junker anyday. Actually, I am in the market for a beater myself as I am thinking about trying SCCA Rallycross, as well as some TSD ralllying. I want a car that I can BEAT on and still take me through an Ohio winter. Chris
  14. The Cierra was a good car, my father owned one...ran well...but his was a V6. Chrs
  15. You may be right, but for whoever gets in office it will be a very long four years. I don't envy either of them. The economy isn't going to get better for at least 5-8 years IMHO, and it may get MUCH worse. We are already loosing a lot of contracts at work because none of our clients can get financed for any form of commercial construction, not even the hospital that 3 of my 5 children were born at. When Ohio Health, INC. can't get a loan for capital improvements, we are in trouble. There is no quick fix for any of this. Chris
  16. Since this is an automotive forum...yeah...he is trying to get you to buy a "used car"...a Maverick....72 model....and a lemon. Chris
  17. Rabbit is a nice product but a bit pricy for a small car with a little lower fuel economy. The 2.5 is smooth and torqueish to drive, though. Hoping the diesel comes here in the next gen Rabbit. Chris
  18. Glad he had a good two months...that's great to hear! Chris
  19. I thought the Astra thing was off for you? But seriously, I like the refresh/redesign. Again, I think GM is getting on the right track here, folks. Chris
  20. They are awsome cars, there is a blck one in my neighborhood also. Chris
  21. Almost no car is, actually, not even a Nissan GTR. However, it is a damned nice car for 14k. I know you put off the Astra thing reg, but what are you really thinking right now in terms of another car? Just gonna drive the Azz-tech or what? Chris
  22. I know a couple of guys with a real knowledge of VW's, if you need tech help let me know. How is the Jetta doing otherwise? It is an automatic, yes? Chris
  23. Keep us posted with pics, I love that car and am enjoying hearing about it. Chris
  24. Just wait until your boy is older and loves cars! We had a 400 HP Lotus Caterham 7 also show up at our last Autocross and my son Joel and I were both able to snag rides when we were not racing. That thing is Insane! But seriously, my younger son is into scouting and we are going on two camping trips with the scouts this month, and we may do a road rally (TSD) or another Autocross with my older son. Being the dad to a boy is the BEST thing that can happen to a guy. Chris
