  1. Are the parts still available through GM to turn a regular third gen Camaro Z-28 into a 1LE clone? I've seen a few third gen Z cars in decent shape at decent prices, and am still thinking about buying one. Anyone know about the aluminium driveshaft, etc, for the conversion? Chris
  2. Again, I am just SO happy to see this thing being put back on the road. Thanks for the pics, they are a "pick me up" (pun not intended) after a bad day. Saw a really nice, solid, rust free 73 big body El-Camino undergoing restoration (taking a walk with my daughter in a different neighborhood.) Thought of you when I saw that. Chris
  3. Given our current economy, the #1 selling transportation device in three years will have four legs and $h! on the road. Chris
  4. Sad how much support there is for McCain here in Ohio, though. He may loose the election if he takes Ohio, but McCain still has LOTS of support here. Chris
  5. Sad, really. No one really wants to think about how bad our economy has really become.... Chris
  6. At that price point, it IS within my budget...and I AM going to be in the market. I think I'm going to ahve to change my username to something like CAMROGUY in a few months...amazing car! Chris
  7. Actually saw 3 nice old Coronet Convertibles down in Circleville this last weekend. Nice to see Mopars being preserved. Chris
  8. +1 Although McCain is back on top in Ohio according to the latest polls, and he is up in Florida also. It ain't over till the fat lady sings. Chris
  9. Sometimes it takes awhile for a new car to grow on you. I like the new Camaro much more than when I first saw the concept. Chris
  10. Actually if something happened to my wife, I would WANT to find a single mom, as I love kids. to each his own, I guess. But having kids is an attraction to dating older females for me, I would guess. Chris
  11. Pauli, I have a lot of friends who are either female or gay, and I feel sorry for people who are looking for a stable relationship with a guy because it seems that the pool of good, available men is rather small. As the father of three daughters (two of which are teenagers) I can tell you that there is a very good reason that both of my teen daughters are very much turned off by most guys their age. That being said, Mandy, the daughter of my good friend Cindy, is getting married to a great guy in April. There are good guys out there. But a whole lotta guys, esp. between about 13 and 35, seem to have no common sense or maturity whatsoever. Good luck, dude. There are a lot of gay couples here in Columbus, and every time I see one I think of you and pray to the god of internal combustion that you find someone you like. Chris
  12. I feel the same way about the Rougue that you do about the subie. I'd buy the Subaru about a billion times (ok, eleventy billion to the billionth power times) before I'd buy the Rogue. Hell, I'd buy a CRV before I'd buy a Rogue. Chris
  13. I just hate busyboidies like that, 68! Glad to hear you and Julie are doing well. Chris
  14. Someone needs to bring this country back to reality....glad Colin could be of service. Chris
  15. You will have logged more miles on test drives than you will put on your new car... J/K! Good luck and keep us posted! Chris
  16. My wife lived in Philly for a little while before we were married. Nice place to visit, but I don't know how anyone lives out there, or in any of the "Caostal" areas. Where I live is pretty peaceful, I am just south of Columbus, Ohio...25 minutes from downtown, but I am surrounded by farm fields and horse farms. Still too many idiots for my taste, though. Chris
  17. My parents live in the blue ridge mountains, they are wayy to overpopulated for my taste. IMHO I'd still prefer to be just up north. Living with -20 weather is preferable to living with most people. Although I can find myself "alone" in a crowd, which i sometiems enjoy. Chris
  18. I feel the same way, Camino. If there were jobs wayyy up north (UP Michigan, door county Wisconsin, Wyoming, SD, Etc.) I would love to live away from all of the ufking morons.... People make me sick...this woman makes me sicker... Chris
  19. Reminds me of a very pristine 65 Imperial a woman I know saved from becoming a demo derby car. That Impy looked about like a two year old car...glad to see that one saved. Sadly, a LOT of cars like this have ended up as derby cars here in Ohio. Brother in law of someone I know brings them up from the south by the car carrier load just for the purpose of using them as derby cars. We need lots O ammo... Chris
  20. +1 Bigtime... Chris
  21. Doesn't really matter so much about price...You've driven everything other than a Maybach and a Veyron Buggati (both of which are more than $1500-2500 out of your price range) and the Astra is the only thing on the market that seems to fit you. Buy the Astra. If you get laid off you'll get another job, if you move to Georgia and are no longer worried about snow you'll still like the FWD and the handling, and this is clearly the car that fits you. Just if your ever in Columbus bring it to one of our club Autocrosses and have some fun with us! I know I keep saying this but that thing is sooo sweet in the way it handles, it needs to be pushed...and the local HONDA guys need to see some GM tail light.... Chris
  22. I like watching 19 year old girls get out of the swimming pool in wet bikini's, but the women I really like and think that I could date if I weren't married are all 35-45 years old. Chris
  23. The CTS is about eleventy billion to the eleventy billionth power more desireable as a car also. Chris
  24. I AM a railfan, and this is exactly what I was thinking...I didn't want to write this idea up because I thought I might look stupid, but to me this is almost the best choice. Chris
  25. Subaru WRX Used prev. generation? I know, crappy gas milage, crappy ride, crappy interior, you don't like Subies...but it may be what you need to get through the weather where you live, and nice used ones are dropping in price. Seriously, though, I think the Astra may be the best car for you right now. I think MINI or TDI Jetta, along with a Cobalt, will be the next cars in my garage. Chris
