Sadly, this is what people want. I am not religious per se, but went with my 18 year old aughter to church last Sunday at her request. She goes to one of those big Mega Churches sometimes. Of the 700+ cars in the parking lot, there was 1 Mustang GT and 1 Chrysler 300, and other than the Miata I drove over in, there was nothing even resembling an enthusiast car in the parking lot. But TONS of camry's and such. Which is why Toyota is getting rich. People want 97 flavors of Camry, for whatever reason. Chris

I would keep SAAB if possible, if it could be made profitable enough. I like the heritage of the company. However, Hummer needs to go and Saturn needs serious help. Chris

Actually we almost bought my wife a Fit. Was not sure I was going to like the new car, like this even better than prev. edition. Fit is a great small car, I actually LOVE this Honda product. They just nailed the driving dynamics for this thing. Seriously. Between the Fit and the Civic SI, Honda builds some sweet driving cars. Chris

This is awesome-here in central Ohio, we have a guy named Farmer who has one of these that's an original factory Hemi car. IIRC he nostalgia drag races it fairly regularly. Chris

We need to reverse it and get a real creative class in this country to start making things we actually want to buy and own. Chris

I think something from the Era of the B-59 would be perfect for this. In Steven Kings novel "Carrie" one of the asshole high school boys drives like a 1960 Chevy with part of the grill gone that he uses to run over dogs on a country road. I don't think King could have chosen a better car for that role in the book. When Columbus used to have a symphony orchestra and I used to have my 71 Chevelle my wife and I used to drive that to the symphony. It was cool sitting in a line of Lexus, Acura, and other bland cars with a loud, politically incorrect V-8 with headers and a not too quiet exhaust. I like your fantasy. And if you guys don't mind, I want to go on a tangent. I am soooo tired of politically correct cars. I think that is why I hate cars like Acura, Nissan, etc. sooo much....seems like their whole role in life is to serve the upwardly mobile white middle class in this country, and be a statement of bland me too ism. Sixty Eight, I know you didn't like the movie "Vanishing Point" but at least it wasn't about a bunch of teenagers cruising around in an Altima wanting to start a recycling program. I'm ready to get back to some "real" cars. Sorry for the tangent. Chris

I used to own a 69 Bronco with the removable roof. Wish I'd kept it and fixed it up, but that truck defined Ohio rust bucket. Chris

....nahhh...guy like you...a 57 ranchero would round out a collection of El-Camino vehicles just fine. The 67 Ranchero was also a nice looking car (the fairlane style body with the stacked headlights, not the mini-falcoln they came out with.) One of the heating guys on the job we are doing has a 1 of 1 bench seat 70 or so SCJ 4 speed Ranchero, maybe not my thing but cool none the less. Now a Camry made into a pick em up...that I couldn't see. Chris

I want to learn about the Monte Carlo Convertibles-first gen. People have built them by crossing Monte's with Chevelles, but were there not a few prototypes or a few released from the factory-I can't remember but it seems like I read something like that a few years ago. Also, the 66-67 Nova as a ragtop makes a good looking car. I've seen a couple of these custom built as phantoms. I would also like to see a first gen Camaro with a turbo six, like the Pontiac Firebird Sprint. Chris
