  1. The lack of a manual shift is one reason I won't buy an SUV. I think that the Element and the Wrangler are the only two SUV's with manual shift option available. Chris
  2. Whatever the case may be this has got to be one of the best automotive boards on the net. Wish I personally could do something to help promote this thing. Also wish I had been around to get to know some of the people you all are talking about. Chris
  3. Carbiz, what is car heaven? Do you guys crush 1995 and older cars for pollution credits in Canada? Also, WTF?? $300 a MONTH for car insurance? Granted I have a clean record and so forth but I am paying $50 a month for full coverage Zero deductable comprehensive/ 250 Collision/ towing/rental/everything else under the sun for a 2005 car here in Colubus Ohio. Why in God's name would insurance cost me $250 more a MONTH in Toronto? Sorry about your sunburn, I agree pretty much with your response. Really think that if GM could make the G5/Cobalt replacement a true class leader like the Mazda 3 it would really help... Hoping they keep production at Lordstown also after 2009... Chris
  4. The Cobalt interior is damned good for what it is. Like I said in another part of the Forum, my wife likes the Cobalt SS inside better than the MINI Cooper S. That being said, the TSX is a brilliant car. Chris
  5. The E-85 would be huge, as would a more economical choice on powertrain. Chris
  6. This reminds me of when my wife was rear ended in our Safari van by a semi. Insurance paid for the substantial repairs and were very happy just getting the thing settled. Good luck, my friend. Let us know how it comes out. Chris
  7. Here is the question. Is the Cobalt up to standing door handle to door handle, wheel to wheel with the Mazda 3 and the Civic? We keep talking about price and buy American, but this really is using cost and fear to possibly cover up the fact that the Cobalt is not all it should be. I love the Cobalt and think GM did a great job with updating over the Cavalier. However, I also think that we need an even better small car for GM to compete in this time of $3.29 gas and student loans that take twenty years to pay off. So here goes...this is to be a serious discussion. 1. Where does the Cobalt have it over its competition? and 2. Where should GM best use its creative efforts with the next refresh? Chris
  8. Honestly I think it needs to go to about $5.00 to $6.00 per gallon so we start to conserve and develop other sources of fuel. But I am in a minority of one. Chris
  9. There is only so much of a market for Hybrids, and the main point of driving one is in making a political statement. Kind of hard to make a statement about the environment driving a full sized Lexus. Chris
  10. Given the quality of what they build...good riddance. Chris
  11. This isn't funny, in a way. You can't buy anything American anymore at all, much less Union made. Chris
  12. I work in the construction industry. No one, and I mean no one who uses a truck for work uses a new toy Tundra. They are a laughingstock on every construction site I am on...even the Titan guys laugh at it. Chris
  13. Thanks for posting those! Chris
  14. A rabit trail to the thread, but.... The guy the maid of honor at our wedding married is named Willis MacCracken Overton, and he is the IV. Imagine her horror when due to family tradition she had to pass that name onto her son. He's a great guy, just has a strange name. Chris
  15. Sorry to swear but....Oh, $h!. Chris
  16. Our largest Toyota dealer just bought our oldest Cadillac dealership. They proceeded to close it down and lay everyone off after the place has been there since about 1927. Sadly, the cool art Deco building it was housed in does not have historical status and is scheduled to be bulldozed for redevelopment. Chris
  17. Hell, I don't like automatics or full sized cars and even I am in absolute ungodly lust over the Lucerne. It is a sweet car. Chris
  18. Move to Central Ohio. I've only seen one of the new Tundras on the road since they came out...1. Domestics do pretty well here. Chris
  19. Cool. That will be a sweet car when you are done with it, I am glad that you kept it. Chris
