C6 vs. Rustang GT
Wayyy off topic but it would be nice if Ford Brought out a version of the SVT Focus and built it based on the European Focus like the Aura is based on a european car. But build it here in the states and not in Mexico, Dammit! Chris

C6 vs. Rustang GT
That was the real point of my post as it were...The Mustang really needs to worry about the Cobalt before worrying about its bigger brother the vette. Chris

C6 vs. Rustang GT
No secret by my handle that I am a Mustang kinda guy. That being said, what I was trying to say (unsucessfully) in my original post is that the corvette is really in a whole different league. The Mustang has never won at Le Mans, nor gone 1-2 like the Vette. I put a whole lot more faith in sanctioned competition than an illeagal street race between morons... Chris

C6 vs. Rustang GT
Sorry, I didn't realize the car was a regular C-6. Chris

Car selection
VW Rabbit-GTI is now made in Germany rather than Brazil. I would be willing to bet that will help reliability. And ditto on the A4 not being as fun. It is sort of a German version of the Ford Thunderbird. Chris

Sexual Preference
Don't forget the sexy curve of a woman's behind. I just love looking at a woman from behind. Also, I love the female voice. It is a huge turn on for me. Chris

Sexual Preference
This is strange that you haven't met other gays who like cars. I am strait but here in Columbus Ohio there is a rather large population of people who are gay and belong to a car club just for gay people. I've known lots of gay people who love cars, and there are lots of cool cars if you walk through gentrifying gay oriented neighborhoods here in town. ...and yeah I sometimes would rather look at a 67 caddy ragtop than a naked woman. C6 vs. Rustang GT
...not every Mustang driver is a moron. Besides, the base price on a GT Mustang is like 28k and the base price on a C6 ZO6 is what, 73k...I would expect a 73k car to beat a 28k car. The amazing thing is that the Cobalt SS/SC can beat a Mustang if the Cobalt is well driven. The Cobalt is 21k. There is your real story and why I actually want the Cobalt so badly. Chris

Car selection
Actually my choice would be the STI but then I am a masochist (sp?). Given your four cars, for everyday driving I think the GTO is a better choice. Blizzacks (Spelling again anyone?) or a good winter tire should allow you to drive the GTO in snow. I've driven my RWD Cutlass through amazing blizzards with decent snow tires, a GTO shouldn't be that much different. Actually if it were my money I would buy a GTI VW. Much simpler than the R32, best interior materials of the lot, likes to turn better than any of the 4 cars you listed, and much less bland than the A4. Just my two cents. Chris

Info on GM plants?
Don't know where else in the forum to ask this...so... 1. How can GM run the p[lant that builds the sky-solstice profitably when they are only selling 1500 cars or so a month? Just curious. 2. Anybody know anything about the Baltimore plant? Have there been more than one plants in Baltimore? My 55 Chrolet 210 2 door was built in Baltimore and my 97 GMC Safari Van was built in Baltimore. Notieced that GM no longer has a plant there. Also, is this the same plant that built the 69 custom S pontiac that one of our forum members owns? 3. I owned for a very long time a 71 Chevelle that was built in Texas. When was this plant closed? 4. SSR production is stopped, right? What has happened to the dedicated plant that built the SSR? Chris

ALG Residual Value Award and Rankings
I don't think that people think very rationally about car buying. ...and yeah there is a hell of a difference between a vw Rabbit and a Cobalt when you open the door. But I am begining to think the Cobalt is the better long term deal of the two. Chris

The Nissan skit.
We need to get back to the topic at hand. Yes, they are using this to bury Detriot and it is working brilliantly. Here in Ohio where Accords and Civics are made I am told by lots of people that an Accord is more American than a Chevy or Pontiac. What can detroit do to change people's perceptions? Chris

toyota may be afraid
My Grandfather always bought Studebakers and my dad's first car was a 50 Studebaker coupe. My other grandfather had a really cool 54 Hudson Hornet. The CJ7 is one of the greatest American Automotive designs. I remember the AMC wagons my neighbors had when I was a kid. Suddenly I feel very sad and very nostalgic about old American cars. Chris

Another Media Bashing

Fate of Imperial rests on CAW shoulders

Fate of Imperial rests on CAW shoulders
Thinking like this is probably why I'll never own another Chrysler vehicle. Ever. Also why I am anti-union. I hope the shut the Goddamn plant down. Chris

A real collectable Intrigue
Actually I stand corrected. Re-reading the article it just says that the IRL pace cars were destroyed, not the actual 500 pace car. Still seems silly. Chris
-
A real collectable Intrigue
Odd that they would Crush the Aurora pace cars Also at Schramms. I would think with as famous as the 500 is that the Aurora that paced wouldbe a valuable part of G.M. heritage and be treated as such... Or Not, I guess. Chris
