  4. The dark, non-jarring, harmonious colors, the use of what appears to be burnished, rather than polished metal trim, the graceful curvature of the dash, all come together to instill a feeling of warmth in the perceptive individual.
  5. How can you be so mean? Just look at the 2008 Malibu interior for comparison. __________________________oh... :AH-HA_wink:

  8. That is a fantastic, warm, classy, friendly interior. Love the expanded use of color. GM has come to the forefront of interior design in a very short time.

  11. Underwhelming, to put it politely. Boring. Undertired. The Crying Clown.
  12. Not good. The prices have jumped too far, too soon. One good thing about these is their affordability, and that factor is evaporating. And the turbo versions were supposed to be the screaming deal of the century. No more. Is this greed, or a production capacity thing? Does this make any sense? To keep the order bank manageable, they jack up the prices to thin demand...
  13. Oh, I'll have to check that thread out. I did read somewhere in a Nissan-provided piece that this car is on a new platform, but it makes sense that Nissan would follow other makers like Honda and Toyota (and GM with the evergreen W body), and just rebody the old platform for a second go-round.
  14. I too was struck with how plain the Altima's interior looks, but it could be construed as "user friendly", which is good. It certainly doesn't look any better in these photos than the G6 looks in person. That G6 photo posted above is not a fair comparison shot. It's got the ugly, first-year wheel and the lighting isn't good. Like the new Sentra, the new Altima looks almost hatchback-y, with that super-short decklid. And the front end is clearly a backdown from earlier Nissan attempts at being adventurous, which turned off some folks. This is an "all-new" car, according to Nissan, but frankly, I'd have to see this parked next to an '06 to gain a perspective on its freshness, or lack thereof.
  15. The engine in the Sunbird and Skyhawk is an OHC, the Cavalier had an OHV engine, different entirely. I think the OHC engine was sourced from GM Brazil. They stuck a turbo on that engine for a couple of years. I looked at a '91 Sunbird LE with the engine. The car had 171k miles on it. It ran ok, with a bit of a miss. You could tell it also had an oil leak recently repaired at the cam cover because they didn't clean the oil off below it completely. I ran it for about half an hour in town and on the highway and no new oil leaked. Don't buy a car with rotten floorboards unless you want to be like Fred Flintstone.

  17. How do you think she got that way? It was in the backseat of a brand new 1954 Oldsmobile. Some kid was innocently trying to test her gag reflex. She didn't gag because she's a professional, but she sthprained her tongue, and the retht ith hithtory.

  19. Can you make the cars jump the curb and knock over the street light poles?
  20. Please insist on a teardown of the panels to be painted... remove all trim, bumpers and lights. Tapelines can cause clearcoat peelback and nasty overspray on the edges of said trim if it is not removed.
  21. Yeah, that kind of jumped off the photo, the paint match thing. Glad it looks better in normal light. Metallics can also have a problem with "flop", where the appearance of the color looks different to the eye depending on which angle you are looking from, caused by the way the metallic flakes lay when sprayed.
  22. I know what I'm doing wrong with my new camera. I will submit some more pics with the covered bridge for that Lancaster County flava. And hopefully they'll be sized just right. :AH-HA_wink:
  23. I keep getting this "max number of users" bullcrap when I try to log on. And the first thread I click on when I finally do get in gives me an error... doesn't matter which thread, it is whichever one I happen to click on first on a given visit. After that, I'm ok for a while.
  24. I like the '70-'72 and '81-'87 the best. For factory performance, the newest SS is the quickest ever. Of course, the older RWD ones can be modified to infinity for performance. If Chevrolet is truly discontinuing the nameplate again next summer, I sincerely hope they send the car out with respect. Advertise it without cartoon characters, for one thing. The new, RWD Impala needs a coupe companion, imo. Calling it Impala would help with sales figures.
