  1. And that's exactly what America needs to do in 2005 and beyond, anorexorcist. This car is guaranteed to sell without incentives. It's brutally sexy and I hope to God Dodge builds it as close to concept as possible, for the sake of the domestic automobile industry. I'm serious. If we are to save ourselves we must return to what we do best... what the Asians cannot hope to copy. Authentic American Iron is essential to any recovery. Just like I said months ago in this forum, Americans have been buying trucks because they miss cars that have been built with the same confidence... RWD with available V8 power. Hell, even the editor in chief of Motor Trend magazine echoes my statement in this month's issue in an editorial. Hmmm... I wonder if Angus reads these forums?
  2. Most likely. :AH-HA_wink:
  3. Oh... MY... GOD... that is the awesomest, coolest Dodge product since... I don't even know when... ohhhhhh.... sh!t. I am, I cannot even tell you. LOVE. IT. WANT. ONE. GM, you've really got your work cut out for you. First, the brilliant Mustang, an icon reborn, now this. I am expecting great things out of this Camaro concept. Please don't let us down. Dodge was slow to respond in the first round, waiting until 1970 to answer... this time, hoooo doggy, that's niiiiice.

    Retro Vinyl

Oh yeah, I hate vinyl roofs, I'd never support a comeback. Knightfan... you're right. I too prefer the cleaner look of no graphics. Touches of black and chrome are much more classy, as on the SS models of yore. Maybe if there were a very narrow bead of chrome within the black wide window surround moldings on the MC, that would be enough. I went to a Christmas party yesterday with my dad and stepmom, and she is hot to trade her Trailblazer on a new Monte SS. When I tossed out "18/28 mpg", she almost squealed, but she got quiet when I told her I haven't seen any yet. She'll probably get a black one if she can swing it. I like white or Laser Blue with black interior.
  5. Player #1: "Why didn't you call or come over last night?" Player #2: "I was out with a friend. Why are you being so possessive? I told you I was only looking for a casual relationship." Player #1: "You bastard!" And that's when the fists started flying... :)
  6. Ohhh... another bad trip down memory lane. :)
  7. PLEASE SIGN MY PETITION TO STOP TOP SPEED GOVERNORS ON NEW VEHICLES. WHEN I HIT THE FUEL CUTOFF, MY HEAD FLIES FORWARD LIKE A CRASH TEST DUMMY, AND I DON'T LIKE THAT. Thanks for your support. signed, Speedy in Pennsylvania :AH-HA_wink:
  8. Aww, come on Nos, what better excuse to roll a fatty and travel the country following your favourite rock band? The VW Bus, with it's simple, low powered engine and bulletproof driveline, along with its ability to handle a good sized orgy, is still the perfect vehicle for turning on and tuning out.
  9. Yes, Oldsmobile was a great brand lost due to mismanagement, but from what I've seen of the Aura, Sky, Outlook, and next Ion, I am hopeful some of the Olds DNA survives and is passed on into GM's grand remake of Saturn. The Aura and next Ion interiors could have been in Oldsmobiles, imo. I know this is not a popular opinion with Olds fans, and I cannot truly blame you, all I ask is that we wait and see what they come up with.
  10. Amazing, yes. I checked out the site too. It would be cool to have a new Kombi.
  11. An HHR with one of GM's powerful little Euro Diesel engines would be awesome.

    Retro Vinyl

I've been an advocate of RWD my whole life, but the upcoming Monte Carlo SS, I gotta admit, has me dreaming. My latest scheme is this... How about a white one with Ebony cloth interior (too bad there's no blue) and I'd add blue tape stripes around the bottom exactly like the '83 (except for the lettering)? For some odd reason I'd love to see what that would look like. Does that sound 80's retro cool or hopelessly tacky? Don't hold back, tell me what you really think, and while we're at it, are there any other new cars you'd like to see with retro graphics treatments? How about an '06 Mustang "King Cobra" taped out like the late 70's Mustang II? Jeep is actually doing this with the '06 Wrangler "Golden Eagle", a graphics package that was originally out sometime in the 70's or early 80's on the CJ.
  13. Hey Walt, tell us about some of those if you get a chance... is that a V8 Vega? A late 60's Toronado? A V6 Fiero? I see lots of interesting stuff packed into your sig, man. What is that at the bottom right corner of the Vega, the dark car with cool rims?
  14. I rented a couple of movies last night from the everloving Blockbuster. One of them was The Incredibles. It was my first time seeing it, what a fun, action packed story! I love it. I also asked for the earlier version of Crash, with one of the Arquette sisters (no, not Alexis, ha) and I think James Spader and a fine Lincoln Continental convertible... unfortunately, they don't carry it... why was I not surprised. Has anyone seen any good movies lately, either first-run or home video?
  15. Hey Nick, find out her address and send her a bowtie tube top. Maybe she'll wear it in her next video while draping herself over a six fo Impolla. Waddya think? :)
  16. Down in Maryland there was a crusty old dude with a silver Rabbit Diesel pickup... with a functional exhaust stack, just like a Kenworth. :)
  17. Ahhh, nice and soft! (Petting Sixty8's fuzzy cylindrical ring thingy.) Speaking of that, we have a Suzuki Grand Vitara in the shop right now. Our customer got into a rental car while we repair his vehicle. He... stopped by and asked for his steering wheel cover (padded velour) because the rental car wheel was TOO COLD! I had to chuckle, that was a new one and I thought I'd heard it all.
  18. I think you'd be surprised, Fly. After all, most Buick customers were driving before the automatic transmission was invented! Just put the shifter on the column. :AH-HA_wink:
  19. Both, hon. Prius and Ridgeline are the two most offensive vehicles on the road. They are today's Yugo. :AH-HA_wink:
  20. "Superleggera"... what a cool name.
  21. Oh you'll see plenty of traction, enough to pull this pathetic excuse for a "truck" (it's really a cardboard cutout of a truck) backwards. Let's hook 'em together with a chain and see who yanks who! The Ridgeline is the ugliest "truck" on the road, inside and out, it has a transverse engine, FWD biased driveline that is totally wrong-o. It has piss-poor fuel economy for what it is, and that spare in the trunk? STOOPID! You want to bolt it upright in the bed? Then it's even more worthless for hauling. It's also been bashed in the press for the harsh ride and blind spots because of the rear pillars and high bed sides. What is wrong with the way a Silverado, F-150 or Ram are put together? A separate bed makes the vehicle soo much more versatile... how in the hell could anyone put a work box or stake bed on a unitized playtoy like a Ridgeline? American trucks are made for work, and they are also extremely civilised if the buyer chooses. There is no more versatile platform on the road than an American fullsize pickup truck. Period. :P
  22. WOW, they're hot pics. Those top 3 are total sex, and the 40's style bikini shot is bangin'. Are these recent? Dayum girrrrl, you look good!
  23. :P :CG_all:
  24. I lived about 20 miles from Stevensville, MD, and have been in the PRS parking lot. Cool article! Motorweek is produced by Maryland Public Television, I believe. I used to watch it regularly every Saturday evening...
  25. That's a sweet lookin' Coupe DeVille. Cadillac used to dip their bumpers in so many layers of different metals, topped with chrome, that they always stayed looking good for years and years after other chrome bumpers rotted away from the inside out.
