I'm the same way... anyone I have dated has found me, I have never been "the pursuer". I got a call today from my friend Edwin, who I haven't heard from in 2 weeks... he's gone back to Puerto Rico to stay at his family home. He said he was sorry he didn't say goodbye before he left. He said he won't forget me. So yeah, I'm sad. That and some crap going down at work I'm not happy about. I'm actually thinking of selling my truck and buying an old beater to drive, in case something happens there.
  2. There's a Fiero GT for sale in the latest local "Auto Locator". I like the Fiero, I thought you knew that. And if you're talking Firebirds, I prefer the Formula to the Trans Am because it's got the power, but doesn't holler about it. If you're talking about the '99-'05 GA, I have to say... I prefer an SE coupe in that really cool bright blue color, with no spoiler, but with GT taillights, cool rims, intake and exhaust. Pontiac made a really cool, spoilerless GA concept that I really like but haven't seen in a while. I hate the ugly-ass, finned spoiler on the last-gen GAs. It's like science fiction from the 1950's. When the Beetle came out in 1998, it hadn't been assigned a sexual identity yet, ha. My silver/gray '98 reminded me of a baby Porsche, and it, like all VWs, had a sense of solidity and a driving feel that's unique and awesome. I still like VWs, although I don't like their stupid upmarket push. I want to see a new GTI... soon. I stopped by my local Pontiac dealer again today. They have a GP GXP in maroon and it is awesome... $31k though. I like the fender vents that bring to mind the '70s Trans Am... but I'd like to see the Solstice's fender scallop with arrowhead on all new Pontiacs... I think it's very cool looking. WTF is wrong with my attitude? HUH??? :P

aww... Vipes, please don't do that to yourself. Please don't give up your promising future. I am sure there are plenty of cute boys or girls who'd like to hang out with hell's Pontiac Fanatic. :AH-HA_wink:
  4. It's a no-brainer: GM needs a V6 Camaro if it is to have one at all. And it needs to be priced with Mustang, its natural competitor forever. That's the only way to make it a success. The 3.9L is fine for a base model Camaro, and will be on par with Ford's upcoming, more powerful 6 cylinder in Mustang. A spirited 6 cylinder engine in the GTO body with a different name and trim would be a smart way for Pontiac to ensure that car's modern gen-II success as well. Let the market decide if the FWD G6 coupe or the RWD "Tempest" stays. A 6 cylinder variant could only expand the car's market by a pretty wide margin. Anyone who advocates V8-only is wishing for a flop, imo, along the lines of the SSR. We don't need another boutique car. We need a car that's versatile enough to sell in the sweet $20k-$32k market. True enthusiasts know that a 6 cylinder version only ensures the success of the V8.
  5. Perhaps Vibe II will be a modern sister to the HHR... then they can both get AWD! I like those little Aveos, Fly. And of course the Canyon is a solid little truck.
  6. '06 Civic coupe at the dealership with a "sold" sticker in the windshield... and a big old run in the paint at the rear edge of the right fender. It was all bubbled, and I couldn't help but pick at it to make sure it wasn't just the shipping coating. Whoops... now there's no paint on the fender because I cracked off the bubble. I wonder if the joyful new owner will notice or even care.
  7. Let me guess, she drives an '84 Volvo 240? <_< :AH-HA_wink:
  8. Thanks for posting! How can we upsize these pics? Can someone help?
  9. Yeah, all the cars involved are a shame to lose, imo. It looks very vintage... 1970's? The car jumping looks like a '64-'65 Chevelle to me. Sixty8, is this a metaphor for what you and Marcia are going through right now? Please say no. :AH-HA_wink:

That's prolly a good idear, reg, but in the state he's in, he'd prolly still try to drive it that way... I can see him now, fumbling with the parking brake release... "why won't this damned thing go any faster?" And Nick, so you were chasing your friend around the yard? Did you catch him, collapse in each other's arms, and kiss with tongue? HA! Drunk people are so funny, but damn it be careful out there. Don't do permanent damage to yourselves, you'll feel stupid for the rest of your lives.
  11. Football? zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz..... borrrring... :AH-HA_wink:
  12. I'm a fan of the S-series coupes with pop-ups, and I like the later ones, as Vipes posted. Those were the days of real Saturns, before they were watered down and absorbed into the giant. And I'm hungry right now. Sausage would hit the spot quite nicely, with french toast and juice.
  13. I'd love to have that feeling under me again. That feeling of awesome V8 power, ready to burn the skins off. We have a '98 Camaro SS convertible in the shop right now with minor damage to the rear end. I got to drive it briefly. It's intoxicating, that V8 rumble... oh man. I am waiting to see an '07 Silverado LT shortbed regular cab 2WD with the new 5.3L. I wonder what it will sound like with a cat-back MagnaFlow, Flowmaster, Gibson, or Borla exhaust? :)
  14. OMG, it has a Pennsylvania license plate. That's it, I'm moving!
  15. The GXP is the best looking last-gen Bonneville, you're right about that. (I was referring to the first year of the design to pinpoint it). Too late to save her though, unfortunately. Yes, the single exhaust is kind of weenie on the base model car, but I like the fascias and lack of overwrought side strakes on the base car... and I like the spoilerless decklid too, although the flat, factory spoiler was tasteful and complimentary. My local dealer has two leftover Bonneville GXPs, white diamond and dark blue, that he rotates to the front lawn of the showroom, in hopes of finding buyers... sad.
  16. It's worth the trouble, don'tcha think, Fly? The first-gen Aurora is a great car, as you know. Croc, you are such a dickhead. As if you didn't know.
  17. That'd be awesome to see the next gen GTO and large sedan. I hope I'm wrong about the "production Pontiac" being just an extension of something we've already seen.
  18. One thing for sure, he won't be gettin' any chicks in a stupid Camry. That AM boss needs to have his head examined... pay the fee already, doofus!
  19. Cananopie, the '58 Buick Limited in your sig is awesome. I like your use of color, too. The pale yellow contrasts nicely with the blue car. I perused the Lucerne website last night, and I have to say the car is a knockout... Glacier Blue CXS with Ebony leather... or, oooo... Ming Blue with Tuxedo (blue over natural) leather interior and chrome wheels, WOW. While I haven't seen one yet, the car seems pretty big in photos. It's elegant, yet athletic, and it carries a brand name that comes with infinitely more soul than any Asian brand could ever hope for.
  20. Yup, congratulations, Nos. Good going, sir!
  21. WICKED! I hope this experience opened up new doors for at least one cab driver. Hope this finds you smiling, Sly. :AH-HA_wink:
  22. God, I wish there were something I could do or say to help, Sly. I hope you know there are people here who are hanging with you. You gotta keep on plugging away for Sofia. She loves her daddy.
  23. It was kind of the same for Chevrolet around that time. The '58 started with the iconic Chevy taillight theme, the '59 went with cat-eyes, then the '60 jumped back into line. I'd say the '59 Pontiac started the modern era of Pontiac design, the '60 backed off, then the '61 took it back up... and they still have a variation on the same theme in 2006... nothing to be ashamed of, imo. I just wish Chevy still believed in four or six element tailights on more than just Cobalt coupe and Corvette.
  24. If Pontiac goes back to tacky design it will be a grave mistake. They'll be laughed out of existence. Yes, the Solstice is design purity, I forgot to mention it. I stand by what I said about the G6. BV, I've owned twice as many Pontiacs as you have... HA! :AH-HA_wink: I've owned 2. I love these new, cleaner Pontiacs and hope they continue on the path they're on... CLEAN IS GOOD.
