  1. Yup, at Autoblog and Towleroad (I've stopped reading Towleroad lately because of the blatant, uncalled-for bias.)

I need to clarify... I was referring to the relatively new BAS system as "untested", not the excellent Ecotec engine. I agree with PerdueGuy, in other words.

  8. Let's see, what was this here thread about again? OHHHHH... Borger's new tats! Those aren't bad, I guess. They're not "trendy", so the chances are smaller you'll regret them in a year. I wouldn't have done either, but if I had to, I'd get my nip pierced, as it is easily reversible, unless your entire nip falls off. Then you're royally screwed.

"DEEtroit leanin'...". What song is that phrase from?
  10. Well, we needed that. A good soaking rain. No damage around here, just leaves and a few small, dead branches down. I'll have to check the local news this morning to see if anything big happened. It's still cloudy there this a.m. Yup Sixty8, they sure do make loving companions like that. I don't think you put air in it there, but I could be wrong, I don't have one myself. Can anyone verify?
  11. Rotten Egg, or a sulphur smell, is usually an indication of a catalytic converter issue, the metals inside can produce that smell. With the a/c in "recirc" mode, you are shutting out outside air from coming through the vents, recirculating the air that's inside the car, essentially blocking the smell from entering the cabin. The air intake for the climate control system is at the cowl vent at the base of the windshield. It's possible there is a failed seal somewhere, or an open seam down further on the firewall, allowing the sulphur smell into the car. His car probably has catalytic converters right at the engine, which could explain why exhaust smell is coming through the dash vents. I sometimes smell sulphur if I have run my truck extra hard for some reason. If your smell is a mold/mildew smell, then Borger's probably right. On your G5, are you trying your windows from all possible switches? If the window stops working from the driver's door switch, are you then trying it from the switch at that door? If not, do that (if they work at their own switches, you know it's not the motors, it's gotta be the switch), your whole problem could be either the connection to the driver's door switch or the switch itself. A bad connection there could cause other electrical issues, including your instrument cluster problem. The noise in your wheels could be a bad wheel bearing, among other things. See if you can isolate the noise to a single wheel, could be front or rear. I would check it by driving in an area where a good noise bounceback is possible with your windows down, such as next to a jersey wall, this will hold the noise in, amplifying it, allowing you to pinpoint the source. All these issues sound like warranty concerns to me, why not let the dealer find and correct these things?

  14. I always liked the Outlook the best, and it will be the one to get the ax, which is understandable since it doesn't fit with what Saturn was. I don't think this Traverse is that bad looking, in fact, I like the slightly "retro" look of the V'd back glass and taillamp shape. To me, the weakest part of the design is the quarter glass kick-up, it is too close to the Enclave, imo.

    McCain's trend

I will always defend myself if I feel I am wrongly accused of something, Croc. You wrongly accused me so I called you out on it, BFD, it's over. I have been participating in this thread because I feel strongly about certain things, but I still think politics is a subject that can get too hot to handle, whether it be face-to-face, or on a forum such as this. As far as I'm concerned, this thread is ugly. I wanted to keep it off of here, but I am far from an authority figure at C&G, so when it went ahead, I had a right to speak up with my opinions on this election. I don't think I've been "whining" about anything, either. As far as "gay" threads, I don't care if there is never another "gay" thread on this forum. I am not a strident "gay rights" activist, I like to think I have a good sense of humor about that whole thing. Now let's move on.

I could be wong, but didn't Bill Clinton lose his Dem majority in Congress over his two terms?

  23. Great pictures, Perdue Guy. Lancaster County, with her covered bridges, hills, rocky underlayer and a multitude of creeks, lends herself to interesting, narrow, winding backroads. I should post some pics of this area sometime.

Ewww, I hope they've stockpiled a hell of a lot of transmissions... all that shifting of stop-and-go driving, plus a Chrysler FWD transmission = my winning Publisher's Clearing House entry coming LATE!

    McCain's trend

Well I think it was John Fitzgerald Kennedy (D) who first sent our people into Viet Nam, and it was Richard Milhouse Nixon (R ) who got the last of our people out. President Bush saw a need to go over there. President McCain will lend responsible judgment regarding our continued mission over there, including an eventual pullout... while Barack Hussein Obama wants to handicap our brave soldiers and throw away all the effort, time and blood they've put into stabilizing Iraq. He wants to run. A grave mistake. You've got to measure yourself. Retiring a Hawk and replacing him with an EXTREMELY NAIVE Dove will lead to backlash, I fear. McCain is a nice transition from Bush. Obama as Commander-in-Chief would be a disaster, imo. We've got to keep a balance of power in Washington.
