  1. Borger, you should get yours in Stryker Blue, it's quite bright, and looks good on the car. GMTG, shoot, they've got the pinstripes, where's the fender skirts and canvas roof? The gold-plated emblems? That dealer is missing a prime profit maker without them.
  2. Now that's livin', bringin' home somethin' you find on the road whilst ridin' your bike, skinnin' it and throwin' it on the grill. YEEEEEE HAAAH!
  3. I'd like to request a section in which we can discuss the merits of canned, instant, and jarred gravies v. homemade. Flavor, number of lumps, surface shimmer while heating on the stove, etc., are all important considerations when choosing a gravy.

    My Humps

Alanis nailed that one to the wall.
  5. Actually, I wouldn't mind seeing if my truck has marks on it.
  6. Seems like The Fly is open for business, if you know what I mean. Lots of cool vehicles there, Mr. Fly.
  7. Oh man, looking at my comments in this thread about cell phones, and now I have one... Anyway, mine is just an imitation of an old landline telephone ringing, all I have to do is look at the screen before opening the phone to see who it is.

    Susie

Same here, Harley. I remember standing on the driveshaft hump of my parents' car, holding onto the front seat as we drove around, naming every car on the road before age 3. I was under Susie's spell from the time I could poop!
  9. Interesting that "ball soup" would be mentioned in the same thread as "masturbation". Coincidence? You decide.

    Blu...

Thanks z and Harley. z, those duals were installed by some Mennonites (one step away from Amish) with a local muffler shop. They have an excellent reputation locally. It's a single Flowmaster muffler (too difficult to fit two) with stainless pipes bent by the guys on the spot. The polished stainless tips are welded on. They did a really nice job.
  11. Well, my cousin is in town, it was her B-day this past week, and she's a movie nut of the highest order. We saw Vin Diesel in Babylon AD. It was pretty good, kinda cool. Implausible as heck, but interesting visually.
  12. At "my" BPG dealership's used car lot... a PRISTINE '95 Roadmaster sedan, triple maroon with leather, aluminum rims and big fat blackwall tires (a sign of authority in a big, American boat, imo). Posted price: $7995. I pray it doesn't get donked. It's an LT1-powered beauty.

    That's one sharp truck, GMTG74...
  14. Driving home from the movies this evening, I realized once again... God, I love that truck. It's so good looking, comfortable, versatile... and near new, with only 20k miles. I am going to see exactly what my paycheck looks like when this cut takes effect before I do something that drastic. I will NOT take less than I owe on it, if it comes to me absolutely having to sell it. Meantime I will pack my lunch and disconnect my landline. The jury's still out on the gym membership.
  15. No surprises here. This is what a lot of us expected, with our new lowered expectations. All I ask is, give Pontiac its own sheetmetal, wheels and interiors until things get better.
  16. There is a green, '97ish Cavalier coupe at a local tiny used car lot. Maybe I'll go look at it, crawl under it and see if the bumper impact bars are disintegrated from rust (most of them are, offering no protection in an accident, the plastic bumper covers last forever, alas, the steel bars underneath were not protected from corrosion at all, one of my many used car fears).

    Susie

Whoa, Harley... that picture of Susie is a little too much. She's parked sideways (chemically impaired?) on the corner of Pine and Cone streets with a seductive look in her eye (coincidentally right in front of the word DRUG in capital letters). Was Susie like an automotive Eve, seducing scores of young American men (Adam) into loving her, only to become addicted to gasoline... that paradise from which we are being cast out of? Is CAFE a reaction to the massive effect Susie has had on us? I say GIVE IN TO YOUR DESIRES! Drink, drink the gasoline to your heart's content, for tomorrow we die!

  19. How many perfectly good LeMans patrol cars were destroyed in the making of Smokey and the Bandit?

I thought it was a pretty cool story, and I love the ending.

  23. Went to BPC dealership today, test drove that Silver Green G5 I told you guys about. Got a very apologetic $10,000 trade-in offer for my 2007 Sierra that had an MSRP of $26k+ in January of '07 when I factory-ordered it. Guy told me shortbed, regular cab 2WD trucks with uplevel trim do not sell, and that if it were a base model, longbed 4.3L I might have gotten MORE for it! He advised me to put it on AutoTrader.com to try to sell it. I guess all those claims by GM about the excellent resale value of their trucks are bull$h!. Yes, I know all fullsize trucks are a hard sell right now, but I thought that was a ridiculous offer.
  24. Pardon? Just playing. No knotted panties here.

I just like saying those two words... "torque thrusts".
